I like the comparison with titan, which a lot of reviews don't. Even for a mini review.
I wish it had more memory.
There are already rumors floating around that we'll see a 980Ti sorta soon-ish, which I'll hold out for (and an 8GB version would be great, too).

I personally feel that a 256-bit bus is too weak to handle the incredibly high amount of pixels that we tend to push when multiboxing and it kinda shows in the latest round of 4K benchmarks where both the 780 Ti and R290X were able to keep up, or beat, the GTX 980 when it came time to really push -- Although I would have liked all of the in-game settings to have been matched up a bit better. If someone is buying two GTX 760s to match, or exceed the performance of a single GTX 780 while trying to save some money, then I'd say the best course of action would be to just go with the GTX 780 right from the start. SLI scaling isn't always that great and adding in a second GTX 780 down the line when the budget allows for it is going to exceed the performance of sandwiching a third GTX 760 into the system; and that's if the system/case will even allow for a third GPU.
The above example is based off of the prices at launch of aforementioned GPUs -- There is currently no GTX 960 so the same comparison cannot be made with current generation hardware.
It seems I'll just stay with the titan until such a time they release the 980Ti , I appreciate you response on this issue.
I am able to run 5 clients with no problems, so 10 under my same system should cause no big issues.
I could support a 3rd video card with the giant case i have, and probably never have to heat my apartment again with the heat generated by that system...lol

BTW, not sure if any of y'all are interested but if anyone picking up one of the bleeding-edge cards is interested in getting rid of your older 780Ti, let me know. I'd rather keep the money In The Family rather than buying new if I can find one that's been treated well. ;)
I think I'm going to skip over these (most likely) $1,000 28nm Titans and wait for the big boy 20nm Maxwell next year when the GTX 980 Tis are released. I'll most likely be selling two out of the three of my GTX 780 Tis (gotta move one over to the secondary machine to power my web browsing and IRC >_>) and if you're still interested then I'll let you know.Quote:

I picked up boxing again a little while ago, during my hiatus from boxing I picked up two 1440p monitors and now my two old GTX 670 4GB are having a hard time delivering a good enough performance for my taste. Framerates varies from 30 ish to 60 at "good" settings on all 5 accounts wich I guess is reasonable but the upgrade itch is starting.
Form what I have observerd the GPU is a bottle neck at my current settings so I almost clicked "buy" on 2 GTX 980's but decided to do some more testing. Cranked every account up on highest settings with new models and observer VRAM usage go up to 99,2%. So now I an not sure if its worth it to upgrade to another 4GB card.
Does anyone more tech savvy have any deeper insights into what to aim for?
Although it was reported here that the 980 Ti's wouldn't be out for almost a year, recent news reports that the 980 Ti will be out this month. I'd consider a pair of those. They'll be available with more vram than the vanilla 980.

At 1st glance the 780ti and the 980's look very close in specs, with the 780ti being maybe $100 cheaper atm
I have an OC 780ti and I'm waiting for a pair of 980tis. One of the biggest reasons is that the 980s use a *lot* less power than the 780s.
