Unsure of which to chose

I've came back to this topic (Multiboxing) A number of times and are discouraged by the software.

I've given Keyclone, ISboxer, Hotkeynet and Autohotkey a go and out of all I think Hotkeynet has the best potential except that's the one that discourages me the most.

I don't have time to spend hours tweaking and figuring stuff out. I work from home and attend university weekly. My spare time I either get late work done or would like to relax and play games.
I liked keyclone but it was back in burning crusade that I tried it. I've read some negative comments about it these days and wondering whether to take the plunge and put another payment into it (Can't get old one back).

ISboxer's sub is out of the question because I have commitments that tie up most of my income.

I guess my question is: Is keyclone worth getting these days for basic dualboxing or should I try my best to find a readmade script with my needs (2 accounts, 2 monitors, autologin, hotswapping)

Keyclone would just need your original email address, to rebind it to your current system.
You can infinitely transfer it, the license is good forever.



You'll get more boxing assistance from HKN than AHK, and those are your basic free options.
Quite a few users use HKN as their boxing solution.

You can go with the basic script.
There are tutorials in the forums on the HKN site.
Khatovar has a link to her site, with a lot of HKN information, in her signature.



I'd still recommend IS Boxer.
The subscription fee is minimal, compared to the cost of boxing most games.

I use isboxer, but I have used hkn and still do for other stuff and help some new people that are just dualboxing.

If your just dualboxing and boost leveling or something khn works fine.

With the free/fee issue, its all about what your time is worth. isboxer will take time to config and time to learn, just like hkn will take time to config and time to code macros into jamba or whatever. its all a lot of time and effort. the money spent on isboxer is minimal to the hours of time i would spend configuring it.

if your easily upset (which might be the case looking at some posts), none of this is instant gratification.

hkn is pretty easy to figure out, nice windowed debugger and key map dump for a simple multiplexer with some features and is free. once you get you keys and macros setup and have some battletag friends, i would switch or migrate to isboxer.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm not liking the coding side of things at the minute and I guess I could take another look at ISboxer. The sub was offputting though.

As far as being easily upset? It's a exhausted,stressed,work overload, personal health kind of thing lol
I remember trying to get support a while back and it was as though I was being ignored when there were other threads going on. I instantly though, great, I'm not gonna get any help.

Isboxer is miles ahead of everything else I've seen. Yes, the setup can be extensive depending on how far you want to customize it. Pwnboxer may be easier to setup from the looks of it. I personally never tried it, but the guy has his own website, videos, etc.

Honestly, you're looking at a good amount of time just in setup alone, no matter what you use. You start with something simple like duplicating keys across windows, then you add more and more. I've spent the last few weeks asking myself what can I improve on from the last dungeon run, what didn't I like, etc. And I end up moving windows around, setting up new hotkeys, macros, buttons, and so on.

Might sound strange, but it's almost like playing another game, trying to set this up to play the real game.

Pwnboxer is rather limited, compared to IS Boxer or HKN.
The one good point, is that it is really easy to configure, because you don't have nearly as much flexibility in its use.
Anytime I mention that IS Boxer can do something... I usually get the response that the feature could possibly result in a ban, and that Lax is shady... the default, which translates into: Pwnboxer cannot do this, and either I cannot code it in, or don't know someone to code it for me... so will malign IS Boxer.

Pwnboxer doesn't mention that it is a subscription product, but it is.
You have unlimited updates for a year.
After the year is over, the next major update that occurs... will result in your version no longer working.
You cannot continue to use an older version and not upgrade to the latest.

The basic limitations...
You can only box on the one machine; there is no communication between multiple PCs.
The tech support is greatly limited, as there is no IRC client to ask about things, and the user base is much smaller so there aren't as many users to respond to requests on the forums, and Tim is sporadically active... very active for a week or two, and then gone (offering no support) for a while... as opposed to Lax offering phenomenal IS Boxer support all of the time.
Pwnboxer is touted as being the least drain on your system; in reality, its basically as much of a drain as Keyclone or a similar product (in that each window is rendered at the display resolution); IS Boxer renders each window at the full size (you configure) and then scales the slaves down (unless you're using full-screen stacked).

With IS Boxer you have a lot more feature options, to configure you team how you want it.
There are numerous video display options, ranging from picture in picture to stacking everything on top of each other and then using video feeds to display the information you want.
You can create mapped keys, which not only send hotkeys to the game, but can alter how your configuration works.
You can use clickbars, to activate a mapped key by clicking on them instead of using the hotkey.
You can create menus with infinite sub menus and access them from the game your playing.
You can play just about any game, and Lax is quick to add support for a new game that you want to play.
Lax also adds support for various input devices, if you pick up a fancy keyboard or a newer mouse/game-pad etc.

It doesn't bother me, I just don't have time to spend day after day tweaking. My days spent not working I get no income. I need to work all the time I can to live and the times I want to relax and play I would like to be able to play off the bat and not have to spend hours learning stuff. I love multiboxing because it's fun and adds to a game that can otherwise be monotonous.

I've decided to go with ISboxer due to recommendation and fairly easy of use but with functionality. Having problems with key maps not sending when switching focus and what not but I'm sure I'll figure it out.

Slight exaggeration but you WILL have to constantly tune your setup. It's kinda like high-performance car engines that way --- gotta pay to play. ;)

Isboxer all the way .... and if you honestly divide out the cost for a year I spend more on Starbucks then I do Isboxer!!
