I've read enough here and at the ISBoxer site to know I'm going set this up, but something I haven't seen is how many hours (minutes? days?) it takes from hitting install on ISBoxer to playing a setup that you're happy with. Just trying to set my expectations.

I'm not sure that is something you can really measure. I am always updating my setup to try new things and to adapt to new challenges.

I remember first starting with ISBoxer and setting it up for RIFT. It was quite a hard program to get your head around and I ended up drawing out a lot of diagrams of what would happen when a button was pushed through to the end result in game.
It took a lot of reading to get comfortable, mostly of the forums and guides The new videos by LAX are awesome as well. I would say a week until I built my own set up for RIFT. 2 weeks to have something usable and the config was rebuilt a few times of the next couple of months. I do work full time though and have young kids.
There is always something that could be better though and needs to be changed in your config :)

Yeah, I get that.
Too answer my own original question, it's taken me about five hours from downloading to getting to the point where I got target, follow, and assist to all work. Looks like lots of hours ahead, but it is so cool just be doing those three things. Very glad google found this forum for me. ;)
That is good work Ericone. I am sure it took me longer than that.
SWTOR is a more difficult game to set up and box than others. For instance the lack of macros is a pain and that combat breaks follow.
I recently went back to EQ2 for a change of scenery and was very happy to have back macros and permanent follow.
Not saying that multiboxing SWTOR isn't fun, it is and I had a blast with a duo up to level 55. Just takes a bit more fine tuning. But it is very rewarding once you have your team working well.

Heard many good things about EQ2. I already have two accounts for Star Trek Online, so that is another game I might try. Someday. For now, much, much more to do in SWTOR.
