It doesn't seem like they have a lot of burst, compared to previous seasons with a DK or Feral type team.
Like the Ferals, the damage seemed to be one target at a time.
That said, you certainly didn't have issues in killing anyone, so there was enough DPS to get the job done.
From arena threads, during Ascendance you should be able to kill almost anything given sufficient/equal gearing.
That's a nice bonus for the team.
I absolutely love the utility of all those totems.
Tremor on round-robin, in particular sticks out as a tremendous strength of a Shaman team.
The Windwalk totem would help to stay on target, that a lot of other melee teams would like to have.
It looked like you didn't have a healer on the team, so being relatively self sufficient is nice too.

Not much burst? That warrior was dead in one GCD. Their burst outside of ascendance is really good too with 4x Elemental Blast. I usually run with a pocket healer - in this video I had a great priest keeping me alive. With the current hybrid healing it's not even worth wasting maelstrom procs on heals, they hit for too little. Elemental Blast, on the other hand, can hit like a truck.Quote:

I'm still working on my UI, some parts I hate and some parts I love. To show the totems use TellMeWhen.
I don't think I use any of the macros on this forum. I don't know if it's Mosg's method (as I never really read what it was), but basically I have all abilities spamming at the same time, if I want them spammed. So I don't care if it's stormstrike, lava lash, whatever, when I'm mashing my DPS button those are going to be used as soon as possible. Then I have other buttons for using abilities only when I want to, such as elemental blast and searing totem. Most of the totems I have on a rotation system and I don't know when they're being dropped. For example my grounding totem gets dropped every 7 seconds or so by a different toon, unless i hit the button that says all drop your grounding. Same with my capacitor. One gets dropped every 12 seconds or so. I'm starting to move away from the passive totem dropping, but I'm taking it slowly.
For maelstrom procs (the red lightning) I use weak auras, similar to Nox (though his things look better).
Here is my 5 man team when I was gearing them up in bg's long ago. Looks like I have to do some work to get my shamans going again.
Nice, pinotnoir. I'd say the Cata enhance looks similar to MOP with two very large exceptions, which I'm sure you already know: we now have a ridiculously powerful burst cooldown, and I don't think we have near the survivability that you displayed in the video. The heals just don't move the meter at the moment (hybrids getting healing buff in 5.2, though).
What should I do for dps macros? I looked at the compendium but it had what looked to be old macros for enhance.

go to the forums for enh and check their macro. it seems pretty good.
When I don't play with a healer I just toss a chain heal macro into my rotation, with all 4 spec'd into echo for pretty big heals.
I hope the CL changes make it to 5.2 (Jumps do 100% dmg instead of reduce dmg per jump), then I'll prob include that in my pvp rotation for Maelstrom stacks.
I've been debating specing into Instant Cast Elemental Blast x4.... to try and land 2 insta gibs out of the gate. Wolves/Eles/Ascendance out of the gate on Target1, then switch to target 2 and get them down to like 60-70% and 4x Instant EB.
The burst of enhancement shamans is great! I hope this will not be nerfed in 5.2 .

Chain heal and heal are barely worth casting in PvP as an enhance, at the moment. 5.2 will make it better, but in my experience there is no comparison between a wet noodle heal and a burst of elemental blast. Over time, elemental blast kills just as many toons as ascendance does for me. Mage blinks? EB. Hunter shoots away? EB. Resto druid is in god-mode? Beat on him, cleanse, EB, dead.
I guess you have to get lucky with the crits, mastery procs, off hand attacks, etc. And a second GCD if there is time may be enough. I did a wargame with someone in my guild to test mitigation and my druid in bear form with might of ursoc and barkskin up (over 600k effective health) was killed in two GCDs.Quote:

Hi, Owltoid, Love the short Video. Here's hoping for a longer version. If anyone could answer how did you do show all your totems cooldowns? Is that something from isboxer, where you copy one screen and lay it on top of the other? Watching your shamans destroy people is making me want to get back to boxing. : )
The totem cooldowns or the other toons is shown through TellMeWhen. Basically the addon just keeps track of when it saw the toon cast the totem and counts down from there depending on how long it thinks the cooldown is. I don't believe the cooldown is adjusted for abilities that would reduce the cooldown (eg talented totemic recall) but it works pretty well.
For the most part they're just there for show. Usually too much is going on for me to look down there. The things I focus on is the count of maelstrom proc and elemental blast cooldown. As soon as I see red lighting across the toons and EB is ready, I try to burst down a lower health target.
Ive been thinking of making a macro like /use trinket /castsequence spiritwalker's grace, elemental blast as an opener. Idk how effective it would be but the extra stats may prove benificial trying to burst someone down. Need moar testing :DQuote:

cool, thank you. ill get on that! 3 boxing now! cut down to 3 cause I play with my wife, so that's 4 in a group, with one empty slot for any tag alongs from the guild. : ) ALSO, having the 2 seater ground mounts is SO NICE, both my slaves just jump in for the ride along. Here's to hoping blizzard makes a 2 seater flying mount!
So enhance is the new Ele I am thinking of coming back too play wow again and own in pvp by the looks of it, its melee all the way

Melee is just so much easier to box because you can focus less on positioning and more in micromanagement of cooldowns or healing (for PvP). I'd say for PvE melee is more difficult as your toons will often be stacked.
