Trade skill money maker ( MoP )

I have one of every trade maxed atm. The first few days and weeks were great for the gathering skills. Now it cost the same to buy enough ore or bars to make one living steel bar ( unless it procs ). Farming the ore takes hours to gain enough to transmute 2 a day( 240 ore for 120 bars to make 12 trillium for 2 living steal. I only have two alchs maxed atm ). I have made a few epics with my BS and LW that took forever to sell. I did sell a few darkmoon cards... i can only make one a day atm though and only certain ones sell fast/well.

What ya'll think? Where is my time best spent? Just gathering and selling the raw mats?

You can play Enchanting Arbitrage.

5x Spirit Dust = 1x Mysterious Essence
5x Mysterious Essence = 1x Ethereal Shard
5x Ethereal Essence = 1x Sha Crystal

Only a max skill Enchanter can combine the pieces.

Do an AH scan for current prices and for averages over time.
Weekend and weekday averages will vary.

If you can buy 5x Spirit Dust for less than 95% of the price of 1x Mysterious Essence, then you can combine them and sell for a profit.
Use the same formula for ME > ES and ES to SC.





You could try the tradeskill shuffle...

Buy/Farm ore.
Prospect it.

Green quality gems were cut and vendored.
Blue quality gems were cut and sold to players.

You have to option to make something, disenchant it, and use the mats to sell Scroll of Whatever.

I have done all the stuff you're saying.. its all good..was just wondering where to focus my time.. With all the dailies i have to do.. i'm just trying to maximize my efforts. Was just looking for thoughts on what others think which tradeskill makes them the most money.

For time to money ratio nothing beats inscription and darkmoon cards at the moment. Its ramping up this week as the faires only a week away. I have 2 scribes, but might dump some cash into making 1-2 more, its worth it. I can sell individual cards for at least 1k profit each except ox, but then i can sell the deck for 4-5k as well. trinkets made from the other cards are running 40-70k on my server, so i might try and max out as many decks as i can as soon as the faire hits for big money. Another good money maker is farming the tillers mats, currently I make 2-300g per toon with only 4 plots, and I have 4 toons doing it atm (I haven't been multiboxxing panda land yet, as i'm just finishing my raf). takes less than 20min a day for me to pop out 4 farms, 2 darkmoon cards, 4 living steel (i buy the bars, transmute the trillium and distribute) as well as 1 sha crystal a day. thats across 7 toons and 4 accts. I'm small time atm, but as soon as I get 1 set of 4 slaves to tillers i'm going to level the next 4 and so on to keep the gravy rolling. even at 5g per vegetable it'll be worth it, as it takes like 3-4minutes tops solo per farmer, in groups of 5 the fights will be 10 second affairs.

I think their plan was to have the dailies be the gold maker this expansion. Most mats except for cooking are very common in the AH.

I agree that Darkmoon cards are the big thing right now. On Magtheridon it's a cake walk to get someone to provide 1k gold plus mats for you to make them a card (it requires a once-a-day item from transcription). If you've got 5 or 10 guys going... Yeah.

On the other hand, the Alchemy market is trash. Living Steel is almost down to the price of the mats.

For you guys with alchemists, you might want to actually try an xmute from vanilla. Transmute essence of water to essence of air. This recipe used to be a fairly rare drop, but now it is sold by a vendor outside of schoolomance. The essence of air are used 4 at a time in the agility enchants all the monks want on their heirlooms.

According to theunderminejournal.com the average price for water is around 20-30g and the airs are going for around 200g. You might be able to make quite a bit more by selling the agility enchants yourself. I normally sell the enchants in the 1500-3000g range. I list my extra airs on the ah for 400g each. I do this to help keep the prices high and they will still sale at that price when I'm the only person with any to sale, which is quite often.

It's pretty server dependent, but might give you another option if living steel is selling for mats cost or below

I'm still making over 100g a bar for living steel on stormrage. Darkmoon card prices have been rising the last 2-3 days, i'm not selling atm, waiting until i need to just to buy mats until the faire is here, cuz thats when the markets going to explode.

I have been mining the ghost iron for living steel and have 5 transmute masters. It takes about an hour to mine the mats BUT it can be hard to even sell the living steel with the undercutting on the AH. I agree with the poster about dailies, it does seem to be in this expac that the raw mats are way too plentiful causing the economy to be real sluggish.

I might try hannibal's transmute to see if that makes some gold. I have only one inscriptionist and have not delved into the cards as yet even though he is max level.

I had been selling some cards, but I only have one scribe atm. I just now made a tiger deck, waiting for the fair before I sell it. I sold my first few cards during last fair for a good amount. When the fair ended i started saving them for the next one. I have a tiger deck and 3 cards shy of serpent and 4 crane, one ox atm. I have a feeling that even the decks will go way down, the herbs are so cheap!

But doing dailies will get old real fast! So i'm always looking for ways to make money other than dailies. But yea, Bliz went overboard with trade mat spawns!

Alot of its server dependent, Stormrage alliance side is one of the most active servers/factions in the game last i saw, so it definitely helps out. Its looking to me where tradeskillers will have a short shelf life this expac however due to the huge amount of mats available. living steel probably won't have the shelf life that transmuting air did last expac, and its looking like flasks and elixirs margins is only a few gold if any so far, with the cost coming in the form of golden lotus, which sell for more than the flasks do on my server.

Yea.. i think those of you who have multi-scribes are going to make a killing. I'm not sure how long that will last.. i'm sure it will always be good..but how good is yet to be seen. I might make my next team to 90 all scribes..its easy to level.

Even at selling decks for 8k per (minus tank deck) you should be making approximately 20k profit per day (with 45 scribes)

It will take about 6 months to get to that point. So by the time they are out of style you can have made approximately 4 million gold.

If you sell the cooldowns for 500g per you make up to 20k per day as well.

Healer trinkets and caster trinkets will likely retain 12k+ value over the entire expansion unless theres a trinket from instances (tsunami and volcano were good till dragonsoul)

Meanwhile Horde side is dead as a doornail. Glad I'm done with the actively pursuing the market. The only stuff that's really selling at all for me has been old school stuff. Netherweave bags, Vanilla leather/cloth sell pretty well. I got a pretty steady turnover with the new cooking mats and Golden Carp but I think the insane run on those are done. I can still sell for absurd prices, but it's not constant spamming in my chat window of sales anymore. Not even going to bother with any of the high-ticket stuff, just sell my overflow junk.

Khat lemme know if ya wanna try and work the xfaction market to take advantage of the strong ally economy.

I don't really have any need to work the AH at all anymore. I've already got more gold than I'll ever need and crossfaction's really only ever been good for buying ally and transferring to sell on horde, but with no Horde left it's kind of moot.

I have 8 Scribes -> Sitting on a shit ton of decks... sold about 5 in the first faire.

Then I have Enchanting / JC / Alchemy for the Prospect -> Xmute Diamonds -> Cut Blue Gems -> Craft and D/E Green/Blue Rings & Necks.

I need to get my Scribe Army to 20 and stop there... Plan was 10 (got to 8)... I Don't see myself logging in to do 20 card combines a day though. Keeping up with the Herb stock would get annoying too.

Might just stick with 10.... Either way scribes are legit... first week of MOP was selling shoulder enchants for 1-3k a piece lol.

8 is a good number.. you're making a deck a day worth of cards.

Well i mean its 8 cards a day. so yea random.. i don't think you would ever lose money in the end.. i only get one ox every 10 cards or so it seems. So in a week i'm sure you would get a few/several good decks.

Getting an OX card is a boner kill for sure.... However having 9 Ace of serpents is also rather annoying... I do trade around via trade chat once in awhile when I get completely over stocked on a card. I also use some cards to trade for a missing card to complete a deck.

What's the deal with Ace of Serpents ... I'm in the low double digits on them too!? Anyone else getting a ton of these?

I get a bunch of ox, rarely get cranes, and get a fair amount of tigers with slightly less serpents. Even so Mats for a deck are around 8k on my server, and the ox decks still 12-15k, so i'm making money. Other decks are 30k+ atm.
Anyone actually do the quests for the trinket and then sell them? Trinkets are selling for more on my server, was wondering how hard the quest was, is it repeatable (only 1 90 atm) etc.

Trinkets sell for more because the DMF isn't currently active (which is where you turn in the decks).

So not every cut is profitable, and most profitable ones are really competitive. • Potent Vermilion Onyx (+80 Intellect & +160 PvP Resilience)
• Perfect Artful Tiger Opal (+80 Intellect & +160 Mastery)
• Perfect Reckless Tiger Opal (+80 Intellect & +160 Haste)

Jewel Rings
Jewelcrafting isn’t just for cutting gems. They can also make some bad ass jewelry. The funny thing is, most Jewelcrafterrs don’t know that they can make money this way because the recipes are not at the major trainers. To find these crafts, you’ll need to visit Mai the Jade Shaper in Greenstone Village in Jade Forest. Here’s a screen shot of where she’s hiding:

She will teach you the following crafts:

• Band of Blood
• Golembreaker Amulet
• Heart of the Earth
• Lionsfall Ring
• Lord’s Signet
• Reflection of the Sea
• Roguestone Shadowband
• Skymage Circle
• Tiger Opan Pendant
• Widow Chain

Each of these 6 Serpent’s Eyes which are often thrown away after prospecting or sold on the auction house for dirt cheap by players who don’t know what else to do with them.
You can sell these at a really good price on the auction house to new level 90s. They are all iLvl 450 and each have their purpose.


Other ways
There are other ways to make gold with Jewelcrafting, including pairing your JC with an enchanter and doing the Ghost Iron Shuffle, or making metas but we’ll go into those in more detail in the future.

Well Living Steel prices have crashed on my server Uther, the mats cost way more than the Living Steel. Prices went from mid 600g to mid 400g in the last 5 days :(

Are you all making decks with your cards are just selling them individually?

Making decks atm. Gonna blow out everything I have deck wise today, then save again until friday, then blow out everything over the last 48 hours before the faire ends. Then I'm gonna go ahead and save until the next faire, and do it all over again.
