"time to try that multiboxing thing."
I love stocking up on these.
god I hate you blizzard lol. I just purchased 3 for RAF for $20, 3 days ago.
Grr, me too! :(
I'll buy 10. lulz.
Thanks for posting this, I missed out on the last $5 sale. Time to stock up.
Dumb question.
How do you stock up on these?
Currently, I have 7 inactive accounts as of 2 months ago, 1 battle.net.
If I buy these now, say another 5 or 10, do they just remain que'd until I associate them with my existing battlet.net account or create a new one? Can I just buy 10 and let them sit?
Buy them, and you get digital codes.
You can access them from whichever battlenet account you purchase them with.
If you are interested and there is a Frys Electronics in your area, they are selling Cataclysm for $5. I bought 4 at the weekend :) . They are on clearance and so it is only while stocks last.
Just bought 10 battlechests..
TOTALLY worth it.
if anyone is near a frys and can buy me 10 of those cata xpacs... i can send them paypal money! im in S Korea.. no frys here..
Just bought 5 against the day when I will inevitably succumb to 10-boxing's temptation.
Ok, i have a question about scroll of resurection.
I want to have an alt account with a character from opposite faction for spying (/who <theguyyouwanttokill>) and chat with the opposing faction. (And with Isboxer videofx, it's nice, because we can integrate the opposite faction toon chat into our main windows)
I'm wondering if we can use scroll of resurection more than once on a account.
Buy 3 Battlechess, activate one of them each month. And after the 3 first trial month, resurect the first account and so on, indefinitly.
So, for 15$ having a account that's always active for 0$ monthly fee.
Edit : Quick search on FAQ tells me :
"After March 5th, 2012, you are only able to accept one Scroll of Resurrection per eligible World of Warcraft license"
Still, with a 5$ battlepack who can be used 2 month, that's 2,5$/month to have the ability to talk to opposite faction and got some extra 80 in the process to fill blank.
Also, I got this e-mail yesterday stating that Cata & MoP together are over 40% off. Which means you get the entire game for about $45.

This is what i see if try to upgrade one of the new battlechest accounts.

So you dont need to have the email to get the price break. Not that MiRai was implying that, just saying the option is open to everyone.
If they decide to include cataclysm in the battle chest at some point, any existing codes that haven't been used will also include Cata at that point, then, right? I vaguely remember it worked like that when they added Wrath but wanted to confirm it.
I snagged 5 for a rainy day.... never know when they'll come in handy :)
Why do you guys keep buying them?
Unless you wanna move from x boxing to y boxing (y > x) I don't see the point.
Am I missing something here?
I guess, but I just did all classes x 5 when I rafed. Bought 3 more just to raf monks ( gonna transfer them to main accounts)
Grr. I'm tempted to do this. my problem is A. I'm OCD [feel compelled to maximally exploit RAF]. and B. I'm cheap.
I have 10 accounts that I want to keep.
so, doing some quick math...
if I get 10 battle chests, and raf 10 new accounts [each account rafs 1 new account], and level basically 5 sets of 4. [e.g. leveling 1 throw-away toon for each keeper toon]
then when I get 2 teams to 80, I grant a third team to 80 on the Keeper toon, minimizing the pain somewhat. E.g.:
Level 20 monks, 20 hunters, 40 total toons leveled, then grant i dunno, warriors. leaving me 30 keeper toons to 40 total toons leveled.
as long as you do it in sets of two, its not horribad. and you avoid the cost of xfers. Or is there a flaw in my math.
This of course requires 2 boosters. And as long as you do it in sets it doesn't seem too bad...
Edit:
Other considerations I left out. My math is that per 10-man team and RAF + transfer half, discounting RAF costs itself, transfer costs accumulate to 125 dollars per team. so if I want 2 teams, that's 250 dollars in transfer fees. 275 total, versus 50 for the 'throw away toons' method.
Also I didn't really think in terms of time, but certainly the transfer method is fastest... whether no RAF and just level what I want to play is faster than the cheap route of leveling throw-away toons is trickier. I'm guessing RAFing twice as many toons is still faster. Because it'd take roughly 3x the time investment, ergo 20x3 = 60, versus 40 for 'cheapo' RAF.
I've pretty much talked myself into it at this point, unless someone points out some flaw in my logic or math...
when you guys say you are buying up a bunch of these - are they activated right away into a RAF configuration or put on a specific bnet, or can you just hold the digital keys for later?
Just bought 10. if you buy from the blizzard store http://us.blizzard.com/store/index.xml then the codes are emailed to you. If you buy through battle.net they are associated automatically with the battle.net you are logged in.
Quote from email:
That bit about already-being-attached is probably worth keeping in mind. I don't know if attached=activated or not, but even if attached is not activated, it would limit your flexibility with respect to utilization.Quote:
The digital game(s) you purchased are now available for download to your computer from your Battle.net account.
If you made this purchase from Battle.net (instead of the Blizzard Store), your license is already attached to your account.
Otherwise, the Game Key(s) for your purchased title(s) are listed above for reference. To access your digital game(s), simply follow these instructions:

How many accounts can I add to one b.net? I was once told 8. Is that still true?
