Anyone using ISBoxer for their melee teams should know that after killing someone your characters might run in different directions from spamming IWT. Now its happening before I even kill the guy which is getting extremely frustrating.
Anyone else having this problem/figured out how to stop it from happening?

This isn't a new bug. It use to happen in WSG a lot for me if one of my toons got CC'd when i killed a target and wouldn't do anything unless i targeted another person for them to interact with/chase or had them follow again right after killing.
Like I said, its normal for it to happen after a KB but now my toons are running all over the place as I'm trying to kill someone. I've been dealing with them running after a kill long enough I barely notice but this is driving me nuts because they wont stay on the target.

Got no problems with IWT on my melee team. When PVE'ing I try to wait with the IWT spam until they are at the mob, this basically prevents the orbiting behaviour and in most situations prevents them from running of. Sometimes they run of after killing something, but never randomly, at least, not yet :s
I use ISBoxer, so even though I rarely PvE with this team I have a keymap for it that takes care of the running but right now I'm talking about PvP which is a totally different beast. If I'm focusing a healer or two, with the changes in the patch and how easy healing has become I cant afford to have my toons running away from the target while I'm spamming IWT and my pally is being gang-banged by some melee's. Idk I'll have to take a look at my WoW settings when I get back from the gym maybe something with click to move isnt working right.
I have noticed this in TK on the Kael fight. When the 4 bosses are running around, I kill the first one, something glitches where my melee team does not take the next target from my leader. I eventually have to quickly swap to each of them to re-target. It's weird, they keep the same old dead target. I just always chalked it up with something to do with the mechanics of the fight. Sorry this adds nothing to a solution :[
I haven't been able to play (or pvp) since 5.0.4.
This is not a new bug and has existed since day one of the feature having been introduced. Spamming the ability on a moving target or a having a target that die while it's being used, will send your characters off into chaotic directions.
Either be ready to hit follow or re-interact with another target.
Is anyone actually reading what I'm typing? My characters are running AWAY from my LIVING target while I am hitting their spam key. This is not the same as what happens when you hit IWT after something dies, thats the bug thats been around since the beginning. Right now I will have someone targeted, start attacking, and even if they just stand there and try to heal through the dmg my toons eventually start running away until either IWT works or I have to stop healing to chase them down and re-follow. I've never experienced this before and its just frustrating. If this is going to continue to happen I dont know if I'm even going to buy 5 copies of MoP. Or I'll just play my shamans instead. idk >_<
Are you actually reading what people are typing? Whether the mob is dead or alive, it doesn't matter. Runaways are something that people who use IWT have had to deal with since day one of the feature being introduced to World of Warcraft. I've seen this a few times, but I haven't done many dungeons yet to experiment. Sometimes a random guy just runs off like she's been feared. I think they are randomly losing the target and thus running off like it's a dead target because re-interacting doesn't work.
For now I've just stuck a macro for /jamba-follow master melee next to my DPS key. I'm going to do a little more dungeon running and probably add /target party1 to that macro if it is indeed acting just like a fear and they are losing the target.
Hmm Khato that sounds like a good possibility, I'm gonna run a BG and try and look at my toons screens as they start running to see if they are losing target.

whats that sticky targeting mode? where you can't lose your target as easily? that might help, not sure. I just came back from a long break and im at work so i cant check.. i think its called sticky targeting though.
I've had zero problems and i've done about 30 bgs since this post started.

This didn't happen pre-patch.
Sounds like lag to me, you are targetting some other npc on your main, but the server hasn't registered it (yet), so when you spam IWT the other guys run to the last targetted mob.Quote:

Anyway, I've done a couple BGs and at least 50 dungeons in the mean time, and as far as I can tell, nothing has changed in comparison to pre-5.0.4.
Edit: I have a mapped key setup that triggers on press and release, and it has 4 steps in it, the first one of which is IWT. This is my spam key, so basically I'm spamming IWT (except for when I engage mobs, I tend to not spam it until the melee slaves are at the target, standing still).
