So my interact with target on my mages used to work similar to a melee class. They would face the target and run into melee range. Since the patch they now work like hunters where they will stop at ranged-attack range and if they're already inside that range they really just won't do much of anything. It's pretty useless I'm now having a ridiculously hard time 1v5 vs another mage because I can't get my guys to face my target.
Also my mages are still using staves
There was a question like this in another post, someone suggested making sure click-to-move is turned on and that IsBoxer is not turning it off.
I tried to kill DS 2nd boss Zon'ozz alone yesterday. The mages, when magic debuff dispelled and knocked back, refuses to run back and hug the boss even when I spam the IWT key. When they are further away from boss, the IWT works fine. Yet to verify what the problems are.
Not using IsBoxer, so this problem most likely not caused by IsBoxer.
BTW the 8 second cooldown of magic dispel is bad....
nope I tried isboxer for a day and went back to keyclone
just checked my char, click-to-move is on so I did a little test to make sure it wasn't a one time thing
Melee range - Mage would actually turn around if not facing target and start attacking
Ranged range - would not turn around and/or run to target
Out of range - would turn and run at target until he got into ranged range (30yds?)
all while using a staff
edit: just disabled all addons and tried again, same result
Tested it on shaman and it works fine as ele with a staff even at like 100 yards away it ran to the target.
Mages/locks/priest/hunter interact with target seems to be bugged if outside melee range.
Done testing without any software other than the interact with target in game.
It seems that any class that does not have a spec that requires running in range of a target will not work properly with IWT.
So...
Iwt functions as previous with: Shaman, DK, Warrior, Rogue, Paladin, Monk (according to friend on beta who i had test), Druid
Does not work with: Warlock, Mage, Priest, Hunter
This sounds like something that will be fixed by Blizzard. So far the bugs haven't been as bad as previous expansions.
I'm currently playing Feral Cats and the IWT and CTM seem to be working like it was before. I'll test this with a caster class team.
My warrior had been acting funny with IWT but I'm not ready to rule out it being a problem on my end (config). This is good to know

There was a reset at 5am this morning. I am assuming there was a hot fix patch as well.
haven't tried on my mages again, my mages are lvl 39 with staves and still doesn't work any different than how I previously posted (will only face if they're ~5 OR ~30+ yards away)
this time I haven't tried after disabling addons but I assume it'd be the same result
edit: just noting IWT is working just as it did before with quests/looting.. mid-range combat is the only issue

Shaman (ele) - Fine
Walock - Nope

What a bummer. I will open a ticket today for clarification if no one has yet.
Edit: I just submitted a ticket for clarification. Estimated wait time: 4 Days, 12 Hours.
I'm guessing this is one of two cases:
a) If the class can spec into melee (Shaman has Enhance, Druid has Feral/Guardian, etc) then IWT works... but if the class has no melee spec (Mage is a caster, whether Arcane, Frost or Fire), then IWT isn't working.
b) It is a bug, which will get fixed at some point, hopefully soon.
I'd really hope its a bug, and most likely it is.
The whole IWT/CTM was put in for players with disabilities, to make their play easier.
It was not put in for making boxing easier, even though it opened up melee classes to us.

That will turn your character to whatever the target is, at a range of about twice that of the furthest spells.
So let me try to understand, for Pure casters, IWT is behaving as follows:
1. Melee range: will face and not move (good)
2. Long range: will face and run into range, then stop?
3. Mid-range: will just face and stop?
4. Rooted (???)
I re-read your post a couple of times, I'm a bit confused - isn't this Exactly the kind of bahavior you'd want out of casters? Or are they not even facing the target when already in range? If they keep running into melee range you are limited to spells that can be cast while running.
On my shaman the IWT behavior is as follows:
1. Melee: face and not move
2. Mid-range: face and run, then stop at target (have to stop them unless I just wanted to cast LB)
3. Long-range: face and run, then stop at target (have to stop them unless I just wanted to cast LB)
4. Rooted: face but not go anywhere (which is how I wish they behaved in all circumstances)
Why would you want your mages to run into melee range or turn into potential runaways?

Casters with melee specs continue to run which is often useful I agree. Just a thought - would adding /startattack to DPS buttons make a difference? All it does is put them in a melee stance if at range, but it could be that simple.Quote:

If not it's back to the old days of /follow then manually turn alts. I remember doing that a long time ago, before IWT, against casters. It's garbage against any melee that isn't a bot though. For PVE I used to just switch to a casters' window and reform... it was messy
The <Interact with Target> variable keystroke within ISBoxer may need to have a key defined, if you've just created a new set. Also, check that the key matches your interact with target key in the WoW client.
IWT works fine for my Mage, Shamans, Balance Druid, etc.
As people have said, shamans and druids, even in caster specs, work as they did before.Quote:

mage, hunter, and warlocks are definitely NOT working. They won't turn or run towards the target. Can still turn in quest interact with NPC. So I am assuming IWT only works for those classes in melee range I guess.
