Right click on Inner Space (on the taskbar).
Select Configuration.
Go to the Game Configuration tab.
Select Warcraft from the drop down menu.
Select Warcraft Default Profile as the Profile, at the bottom.
Point the main executable path to wherever your World of Warcraft folder is.
And have the executable file be WoW.exe
If you were to move your folder onto an SSD (I did), that's the procedure to changing the launch folder.
Okay I fixed that now ISBoxer runs a "new install copy of WOW" I am getting the cinematic to start and then I have to resign the TOS agreement. I have to then reenter my bnet account and everything every time.
Your WoWFolder\WTF\<Character Config>.WTF files are likely missing. You'll want to recreate them. Not sure if ISB has a method to do this. You can do it yourself by looking at the character's virtual files in ISBoxer to get the file name. Create a new file with the contents from your current WoWFolder\WTF\Config.WTF file. Do this for all your toons and when you launch your character set you'll have to change the info in each window, but it should save. If it does not save, it may be a permissions issue, make sure you're running IS and ISB as admin.
Virtual Files are written when you export from ISBoxer.
I am still having the same problem. When I export to Innerspace everything is fine. But when I start a new team I get the cinematic tos etc.. still
Because you've deleted your original Config.WTF and didn't log back in solo to recreate it. When ISBoxer creates these virtual files it copies your base Config.WTF and goes from there. So, log in solo on a single random character without Inner Space, log out, and it'll be fine.
That's fine. I ticketed blizzard on it thinking it was something on the wow end but they informed me that if I run a single instance of wow and I get no problems then it has something to do with ISBoxer.
I need to mention also that when I run a single instance of the game I get a different UI than when I run an ISBoxer instance.
Example:
I run bartender and when I have a single instance running I get my bars in the special keyboard layout that I created.
In ISBoxer I get the generic blizzard setup and I have to reset all my bars. It did save though after I did it once so it is recognizing a wtf file just not the main wow one. This applies to recount, omen and the other addons I run.
Is it possible for me to run to instances of wow manually then have ISBoxer reposition and control them?
WoW.exe when run by itself (not via ISBoxer) will *always* write the last configuration to WoWFolder\WTF\Config.WTF when you exit the client. Each ISBoxer window will write out their unique .WTF files defined by the file names in the characters.
No.
I believe that when you login a character through the Blizzard Launcher or directly through the wow.exe, it uses the Config.wtf file, and when you launch a character set through Innerspace, it redirects each window to use the virtual files created by ISBoxer (ie: Config-name-server.wtf).
If you delete the original Config.wtf, or create a new one, the next time you launch wow.exe, it will create/use default settings (which shows the TOS and Cinematic). Once you log into a character and log out, it will re-write it and save your settings as they were on logout (ui layout, addons, saved variables, etc to you account folder).
I found that when you create a team of characters in wow without logging them in and then jump over to ISBoxer to create the team using the wizard, the characters you created do not show up in the list (once you log into the characters and then logout, the characters show in the list due to the character files being written to the account folders on logout).
The way I do it is :
Create characters in WoW - log them in, then logout.
Start Isboxer - create the team using the wizard
Export the Character set and launch it through Innerspace.
Log each character into the game and setup whatever addons I need
Log everyone out and it should be the same each time unless I change it.
Go back to Isboxer and create your keymaps and whatever else you need.
So far I haven't had any issues at all doing it this way.
This is how I create my teams as well. My problem is that all my old teams and any new teams I make, open a copy of wow.exe that had no config file. When I get home I am going to try something that occured to me today and I'll post here if it works.
I am still hoping lax has some idea of why this is happening.
I tried reinstalling WoW and I am getting the same error, I really don't want to have to reinstall ISBoxer and re do all my key macros
Go to the file menu, and save as.
Pick a name, I usually use a date or version number which counts up as I periodically make backups.
It's a great idea to have fairly current backups of your WTF Folder and your IS Boxer Toolkit Profile.
You never know when you'll want to restore your setup.
So I reinstalled ISB and worked from a backup. Then reinstalled and made new profiles and I am still getting the same issue. Someone please help
I got in touch with lax. Apparently my config.wtf was not being created so ISB was running a new copy of wow because it wasnt there.
