Yea, looks intense, but from what I gathered, you ARE allowed to wear BoAs?

No BoAs, nothing but white and grey items.
There are questions about whether you can do this past BC content. And its somewhat easy to cheat, so dont assume all the leaders arent.
Consider it a personal challenge only I would imagine.

Word has it there could be an achievement for this as well. :)
Only then, and even a title, will I take the time to try this myself. Tho to get an achievement for the rules they set for the challenge in itself would be a hassle to code to make sure people don't cheat or find ways around the rules.

I'm still of the opinion that 'IRONMAN' is just a waste of time for people who are bored with the game and are too poor to multibox :P For all the slack and abuse we get on youtube, reddit and WoW forums, solo players attempting this challenge as an attempt to 'make the game fun' or 'for a challenge' are the real losers with no life and too much money :P
I've seen many failed (denoted by the red X by the name) attempts from this. They check your number of kills, and your number of killing blows. Both are listed in statistics and should be fairly close together. When in a group of 5, whether grouped or 5 solos together, you'll only be getting 1/5th of the killing blows.Quote:

I guess the big question if you decide to take this challenge it to know which class you feel confortable to work with.
I would definitely consider hunters as they are very strong in PVE survival (pet + FD) but no heals.
Stealth is a big one as well, so maybe a Night Elf (sigh..)
All things said, i would probably go Druid. Tank form / stealth / Lots-a-Hots / instant flight form / dash / ..
Plates classes are a bit moot because with no gear they lack where they should be the strongest

Another advantage hunters have is that if they make a mistake and pull too many mobs or agro something, their pet can take a death for them while they have the chance to escape.

Of the top 21 that haven't been disqualified, only two of them are non-pet classes (Warrior/Rogue)
Maybe there should be two separate awards : Ironman and Ironpet ?
You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but these folks have decided to play WoW using a different ruleset that they have agreed upon. Is it pointless? Absolutely. But so is WoW in general.Quote:

I am doing the challenge, but should note even to me its not that fun. But getting bored with multiboxing as well, so maybe I just need a break.
I play the ironman toon from time to time, but I'm not really that into it. Its just something else to do.
I created him on a realm I dont have any other toons on, reduces the temptation to cheat.
I have been in this challenge since the 1st Thread to the 3rd. Lots of deaths. It is a decent challenge to just do it in white/grey gear with no specs. I have thought of boxing it but the no group thing gets you.
I also did a new realm new toon to eliminate any chance of me hooking up a toon with bags, gold, etc... it is a challenge. I was pissed I lost a level 25 toon to latency/DC ... uggh... fun times as it brings it back to more of the orginal feel of WOW.
Lucky for me the only bad thing so far was at level 10 or so I had a disconnect right when I was fighting a mob. If I was higher level such as 40 or so, that would have been too much to die from that.Quote:

I did it properly the other day: rolled for my server, rolled for race and rolled for class ... night elf rogue on a german realm. Couldn't be any worse for me, so I wisely decided to pass.
