I am not having luck in the heat of battle with strangulate.
Yes I can get it to work but I think it only works when I slow down my dps.
I use isboxer. What do you all do to make it work?

if you want to be sure to have a rune up, is that what you mean?
Naa Zenga, i have the same problem. I also do use the macro, but the ting is, when we hit our DPS button 2-3 times a second = Many signals send to the wow client. IF we also starts to spam strang in hope that it will go off, there is to many requests and therefor, strang dont go off.
IM experiencing with this by adding IWT and Assit in the mapped key as i have strang on, and make sure they keep staying on the target, but focus on casting the strang for a short second or so. Can update when i have good results.
So you basically want to get some warning that either a strangulate was fired off (regardless of the success, i.e. blank strangulate), or that a strangulate interrupted a spell ('on cast')? Or do you only want 1 toon to be able to cast a strangulate?
From my perspective, i want to be sure that when i press, say V , i know that i will cast strang on the target, or focus.
ok i guess you have to deal with isboxer then, as there is a way to use the api ingame for what i more or less described, but obviously that can only happen if you are sure what you press (i.e. the stang command) gets send
IS Boxer can tell you it pressed a key or did something of that sort.
Via the "pop up text" option, on the same step.
It cannot tell you if by pressing that key, something did or did not happen in the game.
For your Strangulate to fire, you need to have the available rune and/or runic power.
And you need to be facing your target.
And within whatever range you need to be, for that spell to fire.
The only way you can be reasonably sure of that, is to manually control the toon who is doing the Strangulate.
You can be fairly sure it fires off, if your DK is spamming IWT towards the target of the Strangulate; most likely, because of the IWT spam, they'll be facing their target.
Especially if you spam the IWT/Strangulate for a bit, giving more chances to both be facing the target and pressing the key at once.
If your slaves are doing Strangulate on a healer, while they are DPSing someone else, it is a crapshoot on whether you are facing correctly, are in range, etc.
The macro ensures you have the Rune for the Strangulate, if Blood Tap is off cooldown.
Yeh i understand there is many aspects to make sure it goes off, gotta keep working on something and wel se :)
could set up a video feed so you can see everyone strangulate button then you could see if it goes on cooldown.
Yes I have the same problem. It seems when dpsing I have to slow or stop to get an instant interrupt to go off. If I see a healer casting and I want to interrupt it with a strangulate it only works like 50% of the time at best. However, arcane torrent because it is instant and off the GBC it works like 90% of the time.
We need to work on a isboxer way to handle this issue. I think if this worked flawlessly I would lose those crucial arena battles.
Atm i have made it so my 4 dks have included in their first howlingblast attack to also pop strang on arena 1-4. Since i have Howling on my second attack in the priority list, all strangs (depending on if im in los of all) go off after around 4 seconds engage timer, ussualy manage to time this with pops, which opens up for good preasure.
I have a few different setups. One is use like your opener. I do those against caster heavy teams. I also have a click bar with 1 button for each dk. When I click the specific button it spams strangulate for one dk and the others keep attacking like normal. If find that the only sure fire way to get a strangulate off when I need it and not over a 4-5 second period of time. It just takes quite a bit more micro management of cooldowns to make sure I hit the right button.
if you want to monitor whether the target is strangulated, you can use powa addon, I have same problem before I use it. It really help me a lot.

Hold this for a second or so, so you're sure the DK who Strangulates next is no longer spamming other crap.
Release the button/key, which has them do their Bloodtap/Strangulate (might need Bloodtap on the previous step, just have it after the DPS-Spam is disabled), and after that command is given reactivate the spam mapped key.
