I actually posted my first ever post on those boards. It was actually a very civil and intelligent post up to page 3, I'm sure when the kiddies wake up it will go down hill fast.
On a totally unrelated matter, manually updating licenses on 27 computers = Hopefully I break my fingers so I don't have to do anymore
i was definately about to just start a thread thanking vyn for her efforts on the general and customer service forums.
a definitive place to go for ALL people who both disagree and are curious with/about multiboxing.
i think i speak for most when i say thank you. u win. heerz ur epikz.
Hehe owned
Thnx for shutting cry pupple up ... For a bit

Thank you!
I especially enjoy Honings rant...
Basicly, for those of you too lazy to click the link and scroll down he's saying the following: "Blizzard is contraditcing itself by saying they aren't allowing botting, goldselling, yadayada, because then RL cash would give an advantage, though spending cash on extra accounts and computers is ok". I bought a 1.5k grand computer (or 15000 krones, which is roughly estimated at 1.5k grand in purchusevalue, everything taken into account) and could play at 150 FPS if I'd like and I'm also fortunate to have a 16 mbit/s adsl connection that gives me the average ping of 50( or DID before the "lagreducing patch(es)").
Guess I should be banned, eyh?
Rant aside, thanks a billion Vyn, you just saved me A LOT of explaining. From now on I'll just carry a DND with that link.
Awesome.
Great Job Vyndree.
I'm also going to save that link.
Keep up the good work.
There doesn't seem to be anything new there, just organized much better and slightly clearer wording. Maybe 5 is new, but unless wow stops being subscription based it isn't a major issue. 6 could be the first time a gm/blue spoke about it, but the answer was obvious. Even if it was hard to detect, being hard to enforce has never stopped blizzard from making a rule.
hehe wow :) just wow!
I'm going to be linking that in every multibox thread on the European wow forums
Whooooooaaaaaa.....
Vyn, I think you FINALLY found a way to give this poor, poor, brutally beaten dead horse some eternal rest.
VERY nice work.
Took the liberty of posting this in the most recent multi-boxing thread on the EU forum. Also got a Blue reply:
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread....=1&pageNo=3#50Quote:
Quoting this for emphasis - you can consider this to be our official stance on the matter. If a player has paid for 5 accounts, then they are allowed to play with them within our own rules, which also includes the allowance of multi-boxing. A player multi-boxing still needs to maintain and gear up five characters, and it does not matter if they do this all at once or separately. Any gold earned while multi-boxing also would also need to be split between these five characters.
Issuntril
This is great! Thanks Vyn for the excellent GM clarification! Maybe some of the trolls will lay off a bit. We will see.
The only thing that's new is clearly stated definition of multiboxing in my original post (people were arguing that blizzard meant for multiboxing to mean alt-tabbing).Quote:

Basically, when confronted with legitimate blue posts, people would start arguing semantics ("but the blue didn't SAY that sending one keypress to multiple computers wasn't automation, therefore you're botting"). So I just clarified all of the "gray" areas, not that there were any gray areas for us, but it's awfully hard to nitpick with someone when they claim that you're interpreting the blue post incorrectly.
Therefore, I made a very clear definition of multiboxing and very clear questions, so that there can be no confusion.
"Blue says it's legal. Blue says WE'RE legal. I've been reported. I've talked to GMs. I'm still here and have not been banned even once. WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU, CAPTAIN OBVIOUS?" I'd like to add "Stuff it up yer cornhole and deal with it QQers" but that'd probably not help the case any ;p
Really nice post Vyndree, hope it clears up a lot of issues. The 'Spirit of the game' argument is always one that makes me want to strangle someone..whenever logic or reason is applied to a debate the non-boxers always pull out the 'Spirit of the game' joker from the bottom of the pack.
Vyndree,
Thank you for being such a dedicated and effective advocate for a playing style that we all enjoy so much.
"Oh sniggity snap." -Belfaire
He deserves your <3 V, no doubt about it.
It's kind of sad to see that after such a clearly-stated post covering just about every angle, someone still manages to come along and try to play off the "for the good of the game" script for all it's worth. The implication being that two people killing bosses in Karazhan somehow cheapens the accomplishment of others who have to go through the arduous task of... get this... finding nine other non-retards to raid with!!!
I wonder what that person would say if I pointed out that my guildies regularly three-man Onyxia for cash...
Wow Vyn... GRATS. Very well done. We all owe you thanks.
Boom
Great Job VYN. Go Girl go. I think you earned yourself a larger tank and more fish. :) Great job laying it out there. A ++++++ work
I lol'd at the fishtank comment...only the oldschool forum trolls will get that one probably ;) I can't wait to get home and see this asswhooping Vyn seems to've laid out on the forums, should be an interesting/entertaining read
Funny but I can't remember seeing any fish tanks ;)
Excellent point Djarid ;p
Oh, I dunno. Some times you just gotta smack people around a little to get them to stfu. :)Quote:

One time I was having this argument in a thread, when somebody asked me why I wanted to multibox. I thought about laying down the tried-and-true "I'm bored and consider it a new challenge, etc" line, but I was getting sick of the lack of respect, so I said something like "tbh, it gives me an advantage, I have the resources available to avail myself of said advantage, and I make no apologies to you or anyone else for taking it - plus it lets me wtfpwn whiners like you." I honestly expected the sentiment in the thread to sway against me at that point, since I was now not only a cheater, but a mean one too; however, ironically, people were loling and saying stuff like "yeah, I guess if I could do it, I would too". I was kind of surprised.
People are opportunists; they will take any chance and advantage they get. If they can mana burn you in arenas, they will. If they can spec in such a way they can oneshot one of your guys before you even know wtf is going on, or stack rogues and stunlock you down one by one before you can save them, they will. If they get ganked, or just want to gank, they will call in reinforcements to outlvl/outnumber you. If they could multibox without the work it requires, they would, I GUARANTEE. But, much like raid epics, it requires work and thinking. Thus, they whine, because they don't wanna work for it, they want welfare epics, and welfare 5x the health buffs like some people have been giving as examlpes "Zomg pay $5 for 5x health or $15 for 5x dmg multiplier lololol".
If I -were- to post I'd probably be an ass about it, as I don't bullshit around the point, if they're stupid I'll let 'em know it, no sense worrying about their feelings when they don't worry about ours ;p Besides,

Heh.
It actually sprung a leak (not the tank, but the equipment hooked up to it). Need to get that fixed.

Hey Vyndree,
From one of your responses in the WoW forum I got the impression you might appreciate THIS .
I came accross your thread the other day when browsing the WoW-Europe forums,
A GM quoted it in reply to a multiboxing discussion ( http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread....sid=1&pageNo=3 ) and said
"Quoting this for emphasis - you can consider this to be our official stance on the matter."
Nice work ^^
It's good to have an blue response to the questions we get asked on a regular basis, all in one place.
Thanks for that link, hxc. Looks like the Euro blue had clarified the stance prior to Vyndree's thread. Heck, looks like they have been more direct in their responses for some time. No more excuses for the QQers, but it won't stop them from QQing. /shrug

As Ravensfly correctly pointed out above, this has been brought up many times on these forums, and our stance is that Multiboxing is considered to be a legitimate way of playing the game, so long as all characters are controlled by the player, and there is no automation involved (i.e. general control being input by the player, and a "bot" program targeting and casting for you).
