what might be good is a dps and a healer that heals through damage. like do rouge mage, with that combo u can have 2 range dps or a tank and healer or support and healer or melee dps and heals/support loads u can do with those 2 classes. or you could do cleric mage and have same combos
so warlock and a chrolomancer? or chrolomancer and a shaman? xD
If you go anyclass with pet and a healer its a pretty good combo for soloing rifts and etc.

For just two characters, I don't see any point in going with a tank + healer. I would only do that if I would box a whole group.
I would highly recommend two mages, both of them identically specced Warlock / Necro for 99% of all play. In Necro you want Soul Purge and the upgraded pets. For a few things you may want Elemental and Chloro roles for better tanking and healing (but much worse dps).

I dualbox a warrior & healer and i even solo rifts that require 5 or more people and on the plus side i always have a group ready to get some instances done for loot or if i need to farm them to upgrade my gear and i can simply grab 3 rdps which i prefer rdps for less aggro and i like to see my tank attacking the mobs from a melee distance so i don't get distracted.Quote:

I haven't seen a rift I cannot close with 2 mages... But it is true that a warrior+healer can do a few things better, and being able to do Randoms more easily can be a big factor. I still think it's way easier to duo two mages for doing dungeons though and when you're in a guild it's not very hard to get the group together anyway.
One thing that is good with two necro/lock mages is that the abilities are ranged and don't require that you face the opponent. This is also very good for PvP.
Right a warrior & healer can do many things like take on elite rift bosses stuff like that the healer can outheal dmg while the tank is tanking dmg and as pld tank i have pots if anything and i also have a spell called touch of life which is very helpful heals me for all my hp when my healer runs out of mana if that does happend which that never really happends tho and then again theres always power sources around during a rift also when i wanna get an instance done i just say in guild chat "need 3 rdps fast" within 5 minutes i got 3 rdps easy im the boss of my party and it always goes well as i am the tank & healer the main classes.Quote:

Note that necro can heal both pet and themselves pretty good, and since you can insta-summon pet you can use up to 4 tanks for a difficult fight. You rarely need more healing. You can also switch to chloro and elementalist for better healing and tanking if you really need to. It's pretty easy to beat elite rift bosses with two mages, I think.
The only hard part is to finish the timed elite stages in time. It's hard to kill all of them before the time runs out. Is that easier with a tank + healer? I have yet to try it, but I have the characters created for when I do... :)
