Rogue's Sapping
What do you do in response to rogues sapping your team in Battlegrounds?
I've had this in a few games.
A few days ago, there were three rogues who were sapping the team.
And eventually decided to go for a kill, which didn't work out too well for them; I suppose the DK's and Pally have a lot of armor, and are over 3200 resilience.
Today, I had a pair of rogues chaining Sap and Distraction on the team.
I managed to get one of them out of stealth with the round-robin Death & Decay, laid down a large area...
And killed the rogue almost instantly as soon as I saw him.
But the other rogue was either out of the area or did the Cloak of Skill move.
He did a bunch more Saps on the team.
I eventually just left the one DK behind (ran around the side of the hill).
He decided to open on the DK, and I did a Death Grip and Heals...
He Vanished...
And did not engage again, but did spend the entirety of the BG sapping one or another of my toons.
The Death and Decays and Consecrate never pulled him out.
I don't mind so much being chain sapped, when I'm at an objective point, and holding it until it caps.
And I still kill random horde that come within Death Grip range.
And once in combat they cannot be sapped.
Still annoying when you're not in combat.
Especially if you're on the path or the Field of Strife, and not near anything strategic.
What is your approach to this?

I bloody hate it. When I played my rogues, I never seemed to be able to avoid AOE when sapping people. But it seems like every fucking rogue these days can sap from 40+ yards away. It amazes me that with my star formation and 4 DnD spread out evenly with Blood Boil's spamming.
Hate it.
Hate it hate it hate it hate it.
I just usually run off and let them start opening on my DK. Because 9/10 when I run off with my other 4, they open up. Death Grip + HoJ. If they trinket I spam Death Coils keeping them in combat, and then I hope they don't have Vanish + Preperation... So I can avoid the mess 3-4 times over.

Not a fix, but you might ride with others or avoid the middle field of attention. Try the sides. I have just let them occupy themselves with 1 of my chars, but I have 5, you can keep busy with 1 while I cap a place with my 4. When the 1 resses (if we have a good place to res, if not, I fight), I just ride him solo to the others while they wait at a place I want to hold. I haven't had a rogue sap any of my single players, only in a group.

When i came back to wow i was suprised by how far away you can be from a mob in a dungeon and still sap. Convenient for pve but i ththink it was an unnecessary change. You can walk the extra five yards to sap? Shitty stealth for all but Subtlety was the issue, not range on sap. Even with distract you could get close enough as combat to sap mobs. Just making the class even easier - no fadeleaf now, no vanishing powder, no blinding powder, no lockpick practice or quest required, and no poison mixing required.
Soon they will move at full speed in stealth. I do like that idea. :D
For the average player though, silly range sap is much less irritating than LOL MACE STUN spec was.

I'm adding Blood Boil on round-robin.
That will help some, an extra 4-8 Consecrates basically.
I have Death and Decay, both as everyone does it (mouse broadcast, send next click), and as round-robin (send next click) to spread that over a large area.
Had not thought of it, but could use a spread out macro... will have to play with that.

What stops him from cloak of skill and vanish and/or sprint? If he wants to get away, he will. Then just wait 2 mins for CDs and then do it again. Most times, their goal isn't to fight, so trying to get them to fight will just be met by CDs.

Head into or stay with a crowd.

Happons to me a bit i just wait and then ride of fast or leave it behind then trun rould and then oneshoot in olny happons in AV a few times in WSGmark2 games it happoned in but with the gys where they are i leave the clone behind and carry on to get the flag back. the pick it up later from the GY if it was to die

I've been running chain BG's, mostly AV's... 10-20 per night, for the last month.
This has been an issue in maybe three games.
It's not a common occurrence; but is annoying as hell when it does happen.
Was just looking at how others deal with this.

Have you tried cats eye elixir? It supposedly helps with stealth detection. I have no idea how well it works or if it will help at all, but it might be worthwhile to keep a vial or two on hand.

Best way as a rogue to deal with a boxer and contribute to his team is to just sap the hell out of the boxer. Not only will it really piss off a boxer, it will also prevent a boxer from taking action as a boxer ain't very keen on a separated team. The best thing to contribute to your team is just leave the toon behind, a not so smart rogue will go open on the toon. A smart one will move with your team and sap the next one.

I had some success with magma totems in a clover pattern around the sapped toon, but that is somewhat dependent on how smart the rogue is (he can sap one of the other shaman moving out to drop totems). TBH, I never did find a 100% solution to it. The best thing I ever figured out was to leave 1 toon behind until it dies, which really isn't much a solution because you know that rogue will be looking for you from then on for sure.

If there's any kind of an objective, a tower to burn, a graveyard to hold/take, a flag to cap, or even a choke point to block...
I've been leap frogging the team towards the objective.
Basically move the others most of the way in that direction, leaving them close enough to Death Grip the rogue, if he opens on the toon.
If he saps one of the others, I move the previously sapped toon up some.
If he stays with the sapped toon, have not abandoned the old toon yet, but I suppose that is an option.
In the grand scheme of things, one toon then needs to regroup.
If we control a nearby graveyard, where the toon would rez then that is easy.
If we don't, then one toon gets separated, and that often leads to someone geting flagged as inactive.
Getting into combat is the best, as you cannot be sapped in combat.
If I'm at an objective, I could care less if the rogue wants to waste time sapping toons as I hold a choke or begin to cap something.
I do have a spread out mapped key, for the DK's and round-robin Blood Boil plus round-robin Death & Decay, which ensures my Paladin can support heal/cleanse anyone in combat nearby, and the DK's seem to like the wanton destructive spell usage.
My druids used to prioritize frost mages.
The DK's have added the addon Healers Have to Die, but prioritize rogues as their next target.
