hey hey,
I reactivated my 'old' team; 5 druids
however I 'm leveling them right now, I'm worried about the cata dungeons..
as you need cc to clear some areas.
As far as i remember, druids only have roots and cyclone?
Is it possible to clear those dungeons with only those 2 cc's ?

No need for CC tbh, Im running with 5 hunters atm! Zerg zerg zerg! Just use your cooldowns when doing trash :)
or just use stealth like me and go behind enemy lines and if you really need help use solar beam vs casters

Often bosses won't engage or doors won't open if a certain trashgroup is still there.
I tried an all druid pve team with bear, 3 cats and a resto, or 2 cats and 2 resto. But i got stuck with the limited cc as well. Moonkins might work much better with the extra cc talents.
You might need to solo them first to get some better gear, after which you can simply skip the cc.
Or go Bear, 3 boomkin, resto... the 9 trees + massive AOE and the ability to pop 4 tranquility while the bear tries to round up mobs going ape shouldprovide endless hours of entertainment.

AND my bear is currently being stupid!
shred (aoe) dodged, parries, or misses constantly, so i may not heal or my healer got agroo >.<

At first heroics needed cc pretty bad. But now that you can get your justice points from normal dungeons, its not required. You can gear up with justice points and faction gear from normals, and a couple of crafted items and heroics wont be a problem with missing cc.

I know you said dungeons...
I found Ferals (but Boomkins would be the similar) to level extremely easily by questing.
Any of the kill quests are absurdly easy, with the massive DPS they have.
I didn't really bother with the Cat-Charge, Pounce, Ravage, Shred thing.
Just run up, or lead toon can Feral Faerie Fire.
And run the Mangle-Rake-Mangle-Mangle-Rip macro... no facing BS, and they blow my now more geared (including Conquest 2Handers) DK's away in the DPS department.
Sure cats are more fragile, but quest mobs go down in 1-2 seconds.
And any of the ground-spawn collections...
Park the toons in a central area, 100 feet into the air.
Fly them one at a time, getting as low as 5 feet into the air.
95% of the time, you can loot whatever while standing next to or between the legs of a mob without aggro.
Even if you get aggro, you can time when to start to loot to get the item.
If in danger, press spacebar and switch to another druid... the first will regen safely in the air.
If you're high enough and out of combat, have them all hit the low one with Rejuv and then re-Flight Form as you fall.
I did have epic flight on the team.
Druids level very quickly, via quests.
From all the teams i leveled, questing with the feral cats is indeed by far the easiest and fastest. Even picking up items for collection quests, since you can do that in flightform.
For your hurricane macro try adding in a [nochanelling] condition rather than relying on your stopmacro.
ie: /cast [nochanneling] hurricane
You can preface [nochanneling] in other macros too.
That way, your Wrath won't interrupt your Hurricane.
A reason why channeling spells break on druids is often because of the /follow.
As soon as the slaves shift into a slower-running form and /follow is still on, they move closer to the master.
So break /follow when you're in animal form and are about to do a channeling balance or resto spell.
i finally managed to get my druid team working very well in instances. i was ready to abandon my druids for PVE and setting up my DK Team when it hit me. The DK's are successful in PVE because they're all four in blood-tanking spec, so why not go 4x bear?
Instead of wiping on nearly all the trash groups i now complete (normal) instances in easy-mode.
The trash groups i used to wipe on now don't even require healing anymore.
While i did about 8-9K on the cats, i do 6-7K on the bears, but since the bears require much less healing, the fight can take much longer without any problems.
Bears are also much easier to manage. This is what i came up with as a DPS rotation:
Single target:
#showtooltip
/startattack
/castsequence reset=target Thrash, Lacerate, Mangle, Lacerate, Lacerate, Thrash, Lacerate, Mangle, Lacerate, Pulverize
Multiple targets:
#showtooltip
/startattack
/castsequence reset=target Swipe(Bear Form), Thrash, Swipe(Bear Form), Mangle, Swipe(Bear Form), Lacerate, Thrash, Swipe(Bear Form), Mangle, Lacerate
They're probably far from optimal, but they get the job done.
i open the fight with a demoralization roar and 3 faerie fires on the 4 bears. (why use the improved faerie fire talent when you got 3 druids to cast it :) )
And i mixed in a Growl every 2 seconds on round robin, to spread the healing a bit.
There hardly is any information on dps-ing with bears, which makes this team even more interesting.

I need to look up some old posts about eclipse management.
Eclipse is different than it used to be. Much easier to manage as far as i am concerned. Check Merc's macros for a balance macro set.Quote:

I would love to see some movies of someone doing heroics with 5 druids in any form. I gave up on them, but never could get the moonkins to work. With the moonkins i only got 75% of the dps the cats were doing.
Round robin Typhoon for knock back and daze. Alternate with your main dps macro. Daze is 6 sec, 5 uses up the cool down on the first. I use a bear. It gets kinda close sometimes depending on the mob/situation. Or you can space Typhoon in your main macos. I personally don't want to want it to be stuck on a 20 sec CD if i mess up the timing.Quote:

Just to bump this thread, has anyone successfully cleared heroics with 5 druids of any combinations of specs?
I'm curious about this combo as well in PvE. I've tried the 5x mages and it was very fun. Will 5 moonkins be able to pull off the same tactic? Pure dps-power and let all five of them have aggro bouncing between them?Quote:

will be interested to hear too..i am moment still leveling and having fun with my hunters..but my next team will be my 4 feral and a rogue..unusual combination..but nice when they all stealth..sap etc with rogue ..ferals in for the kill :p...but was working well when i began them..there only level 24 though..but looking forward to trying them again..

I ended up running 5x bears and am outperforming 1xbear and 4xcat - survivability is MUCH higher, and more mbox friendly.
I am 5x74 now, and finding huge problems with bosess in late BC and early WOTLK instances - some is mechanics issues which are just hard in mbox, but some seems like a dps problem.
Anyone who has experienced, do you have any guidelines on dps? I have pretty good AH gear (2h weapons in the 106-121 dps range), but the bears seem to be stuck between 700-900 dps each (so 3500-4500 combined dps) - against 180k bosses, the figths might just be taking too long. Any thoughts on my combined dps from any of you who have done similar setups?

Leveling 5x druids myself, currently level 75
ive done almost every instance so far with main as resto and rest 4x bear tanks, dps so far isnt that much less than cats, instances running nice and smooth with 4 bears
Ive spent most of 70-75 doing av and its been extremely fun with 5 ferals
Not sure how they will be in cata instances, dont think its going to go well.
After trying unsuccessfully to run 5x balance druids, I am now switching over to 5x bear tanks. The advantage being that I can sub out the lead druid and use my heroic raid geared main (a bear tank also) who takes almost zero damage from most 5 man mobs.
The gear will be uneven though and I suspect that will offset the advantage of being able to bounce aggro between 5 similarly geared bear tanks and gaining sufficient rage and vengeance on the others.
