So I haven't multiboxxed in a while (~2 yrs) and back then keyclone was pretty much the only solution.. now on here I'm seeing a lot of Is Boxer and such things that I've never heard of..
Just wondering if keyclone is still a "good" way to multibox compared to the "new" stuff.
Depending on your composition, specifically if you would like to mouse broadcast a lot of spells... things like Force of Nature (Treants), Flamestrike/Blizzard/Hurricane/Rain of Fire, etc, you might find the lack of broadcasting a rather limiting factor with KC.
If your composition doesn't have a lot of mouse broadcasting needs, KC is a decent option to box with. It has straight key broadcasting/repeating (whatever you want to call it), supports hotstrings so you can FTL with it, has both whitelist and blacklist options, and the ability to round-robin. It supports networking between multiple PC's.
If you're comfortable with scripts, you could do everything KC does with HKN (which is a free product) or even just add mouse broadcasting via HKN to your existing product. Check out the macro forum, for a thread called How to Earthquake, for details; especially Khatovar's post (first post on the second page).
Personally IS Boxer offers a lot more than other boxing options, without the need to write/edit/understand scripts. There are a ton of features which you cannot find elsewhere, and a ton which can be duplicated with HKN, but likely not with other boxing options. I'd take a hard look at IS Boxer, personally, but KC+HKN can easily work too.
I have KC and used it a couple years ago and never really had a problem with it.. what is HKN? might be worth looking into

As a former KeyClone user for about 2 years, I switched to ISBoxer and love it. Especially with the influx of "mouse targeted" spells that almost all classes have now. It's just easier, in my opinion. I liked KeyClone when I had it, but ISBoxer is considerably easier to get running from the start.

I used keyclone a couple years ago. Isboxer is so much easier to set up.
Well I am getting annoyed at Keyclone. Everytime I start it I need to restarnsfer my license (I have used the same computer and OS for many months so its not that I am changing PCs each day. And I cant get a response from Keyclone on how to fix this so I am strongly considering abandoning this app. Its annoying to have to transfer the license each day and to redo my settings. I do run it has admin so its not a rights issue and yes I tried it as a regular user.

IS Boxer has more features than any other option.
Flexibility, if you need it, is power in boxing like most other things.
Especially once you get the basics of how this software works.
Most of the stuff you can do with IS Boxer, you could do with HKN.
But HKN is script based, so you might need to learn a bit more than IS Boxer.
Like IS Boxer, there is phenomenal support for HKN; either is a great choice.
KC might be good enough for your needs, and you already have a license.
There are other options, but those are the forefront.
I like both, and have used both at various times, But I think KC is much easier to set up.
Having to map all those keys in Isboxer seems to take me forever, and even then, I can never figure out the broadcasting thing in the corner.
But then again, IsBoxer has many more options also, so take it with a grain of salt, as both are excellent programs.

Isboxer has the ability to be just as easy to set as KC by using black/white lists instead of Key Maps.Quote:

That's a fair review of both products.
Wrong, has NOTHING to do with my thread. I was not asking if anyone had any problems with keyclone or "wondering about keyclone" or anything of that matter. I have used keyclone for yrs and have never had any problems, the thread isd about whether it is still "good" compared against IsBoxer due to IsBoxer's various functions that keyclone does not have.Quote:

Thank you for the feedback, I'm trying IsBoxer on the 7-day trail now, some things I like (such as not having to make custom macros for almost every skill, being able to switch back and forth between windows flawlessly, etc.)
