Heroic Dungeon Patch Notes
- Level-85 dungeon bosses in Lost City of the Tol'vir, Grim Batol, and Halls of Origination now drop 30 Justice Points each when killed.
- The daily Random Dungeon reward on normal difficulty has been increased to 140 Justice Points, up from 70.
- Players no longer need to discover Cataclysm dungeon entrances in order to access them via the Dungeon Finder.
The last bullet is the real bummer. In other words, those of you that had gotten around the randomness of the random daily heroic by NOT discovering a bunch of the hard heroics (like... hmmm... the three they listed above) and just running BRC, VP, and SKF each day to get justice points are now hosed. :(

I guess we boxers will have to figure out how to run the more difficult heroics now or we'll be out of luck on getting Justice Points. The one positive here is that they have increased the incentive to do so a bit with the doubling of daily heroic Justice Points and a few extras for the really hard end bosses.

More challenges lay ahead.

i noticed recently that if you que up for a random, dont like it and leave the que, you can still que up for random battleground, and it removed the dungeon deserter debuff. then if you leave the bg, you can que up for random dungeon again. The game only allows you one debuff and they dont effect each other. Might be a bug for now, but it's gotten me around alot of instances i didn't want to do lately.

If there was no justice point cap I would probably be running the dailies but with the current justice point gear upgrade being so small from regular level 85 dungeons I am going to sit this out. I am thinking the gear will be a bigger jump in the next major patch and the dungeons will be nerfed at the same time making the whole process A LOT less painful than the current process.

This should not have a frown. For people who can't do the heroics this is great news they can farm up their gear off normals (All are 5 boxable with little to no effort).

With full 346 gear from normals heroics will get easier. GB and Throne are the only 2 Heroics I haven't completed 5 boxing, so it is doable. This just makes gearing faster for new teams / people who need a little more JP gear before they do "harder" heroics.

I dont think the 5 man heroics are going to get easier with nerfs. Just easier with time and as more raids come out and the valor gear becomes justice gear. Just like wrath and trying to run heroics in sub iLev200 blue/green gear vs iLev264 epics.

It will be nice to rep farm and justice farm those 3 non heroic places. Halls of Origination takes like an hour and a half on heroic right now. We will be more than ready for raids in full Justice and rep reward gear.

Toned, you have some good points. The first two bullets here are actually good, and I'm glad we can get more JP gear faster even in the normals. For teams that don't have 333/346 gear yet, this is great.

However, it doesn't take long to get maxxed out on 346 level gear. At that point, since raid content is difficult to box (though Pinot and I are trying and have had some success), the only real chance for upgrades through killing content is getting Valor Points from the daily heroic. The third bullet will make getting these a ton harder.

Kedash, your method for queueing for more than one random heroic every 15 minutes is a fabulous find and should be at least a partial work-around if it continues to work. I'll definitley be trying that to get around Blizzard's "random" dungeon finder mechanic (which is not at all random and actually translates into ensuring that you primarily get the dungeons you like least).

So for a recently 85 team, these changes should get a :D but for a mostly 346 ilvl team (I have two teams in that state) it still gets a :(

The sky isn't falling and I'm having lots of fun with the game, but this will just make it harder to continue to progress and tilts my thinking in the direction of crowdx - like boxers have to sit out on current content until Blizzard downgrades it - basically living life experiencing content from the last major patch because we can't down the current highest level content (which is a perfectly acceptable way to play the game and leads to much less frustration in playing).

I just have a tendency to fight against that.

By the way, Toned, I'm very impressed that you have gotten so many of the heroics down. I believe you are leading the pack in that department.

I just looked up your thread on H Halls of Origination - that's impressive. Did you have threads on H Lost City or Stonecore? Do you down all the bosses in those two heroics or skip some?

You can help us all turn that :( into at least a :rolleyes: and down almost all the current heroic level content.

I simply do not have the time to spend wiping on content, the few hours a week I get to play my full teams are now being spent leveling some alts, the rest is spent farming and AH.

JusticePoint gear is pretty worthless imho.
I was maxed (4000) when cata hit, when I ran to the vendor I got a head + gloves for the guys.
The only way to get new JP was running heroics, which was impossible with the rest of the gear.
Meanwhile I've raised the rep to exalted on all factions, and got the i359 gear you can get from them.
With that gear, it's possible to complete some heroics, and get chaos orbs.
While farming those orbs, heroic i346 stuff drops, which is better then the gear you get at the JP vendors.
Only the shields are usefull, but can also be replaced when the orbs are abundant.
And with that, I'm back at 4000 JP and can't do shit with it, because I got better gear already!
Now if they only would let you buy orbs for say 4000JP, i'd be happy.

Those changes above are actually really good for newly lvled 85's. I had to run Normal 85's for quite awhile to get rep to buy the ilvl 359 stuff before i could establish consistency with H-SFK and H-VP to get JP.

The holes when gearing through JP and Faction rep is at Bracers and Trinkets. Lockmaw is somewhat doable (he drops good caster bracers) and I've actually lvld JC on 2 of my guys just for the JC-only trinket you can craft.

The ilvl 359 tailoring stuff is a good option... if you farm H-SFK and H-VP each evening (okay a bit of a stretch), you could crank out a few pieces a week (2 belts), pants and a belt the next week. I'm maybe being too optimistic.

If your main goal is to knock out all the heroics... will be tough/disappointing... I've changed my focus to getting my toons up to a raid rdy gear lvl then trying to get one or two of them into a raiding rotation in another guild. So far only been doing BH though solo boxing ( though you could dual or triple box this easy if your running all dps and the raid leader puts you in the same group).

Totally understand that point of view crowdx, I wasn't trying to diss you in any way. If I had limited time to play, I'd be in the same place. I'm glad Blizz offers ways for those who are more casual to enjoy the game too.

Actually, Longshot, another 5-boxer and I downed Argaloth last night (each of us running a team of five). I think the link is on the main d-b.com page. I'd encourage you to get together with a friend and give him a try!

BH is retardedly easy if you don't have another boxer on your server
Just make sure your DPS are hit capped pulling 10k+ DPS and
Pug a few.
