few min ago noticed on mmo-champion blue tracker, and ofc in EU forum a 3 pages thread about a WSG match played last night by my dks team.
my chars are all named. tone is similar to other threads i read in past.
Tempted to reply something, but tbh not sure it could be useful.

I read every word, of every post, of every page, in that thread. I actually laughed out loud here, at work, and had to pause for a few mins before reading.

This thread simply encourages me to Box harder. Those of you who have kids, or are old enough to buy a drink... can appreciate how visible it is to see young adults, or kids, try SOOO hard to make an excuse, or plead their case. LOL@ the young man/woman who tried to seperate out a single sentence of the Terms of Use. I can see my own son, begging and pleading his case as to "why he DESERVES a cell phone".

After reading that thread, I think the average intelligence of the WoW community has dropped sharply over time. Obviously, critical thinking skills are rare these days.

I'll have to agree that the WoW community over time has slipped into caveman intelligence for the most part. And I finally realized what/why I missed vanilla so much: the caliber of players. At the risk of sounding like an elitist prick (which I'm not, and a very easy going chap), if a player back then was an idiot in general or lacking basic social and communication skills....they didn't last very long in Azeroth. Don't want to be just another preacher of Blizzard's "dumbing down WoW trend", but this increase in less-than-average demographic is killing the game.
I would have just replied with "welcome to 4 years ago and the only one breaking any rules is you with the names in a post!"

That's awesome about your team but multiboxing or not, the average intelligence of a multiboxer vs. non multiboxers are is obviously greater sine it actually takes a lil bit of thinking to set it up and get it working effectively.
Most wow players can't even bother to use wowhead these days so winning vs. them is almost by default.

Well, DKs aren't currently terribly hard to hit massive DPS numbers with. I could shoo my cats back and forth across my husband's keyboard and his DK would still manage twice as much DPS as most of my toons.Quote:

Anyway, this stuff is still amusing to read, but I'm really glad that we spent that time a couple years back battling against the people trying to get it banned. Anti-boxers tried every possible excuse and attack and we rebuffed each and every one until Blizzard itself wound up making a definitive statement that it was not against the rules and that they had no issues with it. It is, as far as I am concerned, a settled issue. Blizzard may, at some future date, decide that they no longer want to allow multiboxing, but it will not be because of the arguments that the crybabies make. It will be because they changed their minds for some reason or other.
Until that day comes, I'll enjoy watching the crybabies do what they do best.
Edit to add: they even rolled out one of my favorites: "I really dont care what you say." That's right, Blizzard, this guy is the most important person in the whole world, and he says it's cheating! Well, that settles it, then.

Blizzard is not much different. They produce, and sell this games time. Not actual content. One guy makes a statement that "I dont care what you say."... and Blizzard is supposed to be concerned? Std Business models have bell curves for a reason. There are always outside flyers. The company is to cater to the mass, not the rogue flyers... not to the one guy who has a hard on for (x) reason. Those kids, with their egos hurt and their sorrowful comments of woe, need to realize, if I can search my routers settings and see 4 computers connected to it, Blizzard can see the chineese with 70+ accounts on an IP frame...or they see me, with 5 accounts active at the same time.
applying this to multiboxing... Yes, they know. The software or hardware, is no different than me purchasing a wireless keyboard, and mouse, and syncing to 5 receivers. They know.
And when it comes right down to it... I own (5) accounts, I am a $75/month customer. The one guy with the QQ is a $15/month customer. If it was your business, and you were forced to make a decision, and upset one customer... who would you side with???
Yeah, but when it comes to whining, there are a LOT more people QQ'ing than there are multiboxing accounts, so if it were really about money only, we'd have all been banned years ago. Blizzard has the data to show that these QQ'ers are exactly that: QQ'ers for the sake of QQ. Because they think 5x1 should favor the 1. Basically, Blizzard calls the WAAAAAaaambulance every time these threads start up. Do these idiots think that no Blizzard employee has ever gone up against a multiboxer in Arenas/BGs?Quote:

To lots of people it looks like we're performing magic with our synchronized movements. They just do not get it or how it works.
Totalbiscuit brought up multiboxing in his last couple of Azeroth dailies. Glad someone as outspoken as him gets it and he pretty much tears people bitching about it a new one.

I get this a lot in game. That's a good indication of the fact that a lot of players are just kids. Mum pays for one account, but there is no way she would pay for five. And of course 65 euros a month is a lot of money when you're 12. When you are close to 40 and have a job, it become by far less significant.

If there is anything that Blizzard has learned over the past few years, it is to avoid making absolute statements. They were pretty adamant about certain things (PVE-->PVP transfers, for example) that they wound up changing later, and they realized at some point that pretty much anything in the game can change.
