I've suggested getting a small reward for arena participation and grinding so that new teams actually have a reason to play as opposed to joining the queue for the first time, getting stomped without coming close to getting a single target below 90%, gaining nothing but wasted time, and quitting arenas.

5v5's especially have become a joke. I don't know about you euro's, but even on the most popular BG's in the US during prime time you will often end up facing the same two teams over and over and it just becomes about queue dodging and wintrading. We need way more teams to both make actually playing 5's enjoyable. This should be the premeire method of measuring your PvP strength and it's become a tiny members only club all about preperation and planning and not ingenuity and skill.

It's pretty true you're lucky to get more than 3 teams queueing during prime time on US-Stormstrike.

Some nights you have people looking for points (Mon/Tues), but any other day of the week you get 1 or 2 teams if you're lucky.

I dont know about the 1 point per game played. If that were the case I would be rocking out 1000 games a week, queueing non-stop. With even a 1 in 100 win loss ratio, you could still get 2-3k points a week by just getting in your 5 wins then losing non-stop. There would have to be a cap still.

The thought of every serious 5's team playing every chance they got instead of a handful of games a week - it's awesome. What difference would it make if you had a shitty team non-stop queueing just to get the gear? You'd have some PvP gear and still a shitty rating.. the integrity of the system stays in tact and moreso than before since competitive teams would no longer be able to pick and choose when they play. The top teams would have faced each other countless times by the end of the season and the team with the truly better strategy would be crowned as opposed to the teams that played at the right times of day.

Estimating a 5 minute queue, 1.25 minute wait, 3.75 minute game + requeue - even if you played 8 hours a day every single day of the week that would be an extra 336 points for the week. 336 conquest points for literally doing nothing with your life other than queue for the entire week.

After re-consideration i really love the idea. I support this 100% and think it is necessary.

The Arena system has been a Joke for quite some time i.e. buying their way on to teams and getting carried, win trading, and queue dodging. This isn't something new. Since the advent of the rating system, the arena population has dwindled. It's set up so new players don't stand a chance, unless they grind out the losses, and maybe, they'll have the gear by the end of the season.

I say give everyone the same gear at the beginning of the battle. When you queue for Arenas, you go to a gear locker, and choose your gear. Let it be about knowing how to play your class. If you're good, you'll win. Then you can use your conquest points for a variety of things, including PvP gear for bgs or world PvP (if you can get them to leave the arena master). Until things change, they can have their Arena.

There aren't rating caps on gear, and you really shouldn't get gear for losing, but there should be some incentive to queuing I agree.

I'd rather have the 1pt per game though, would decrease queue times.

definitely supporting this. 3-5mins queues in bloodlust group during prime time, also facing the same teams over and over.

Versing high rated teams over and over again because it is the only other team queueing for hours on end while i've only just hit 85 and managed to scrape together the starter gear, makes winning my 5 matches nigh impossible. I preferred the 10 games win or lose and you get points. I much prefer bgs to arenas, hate doing arenas for the best gear. And i don't know why they couldnt just give conquest points (maybe less than the rated bgs) for normal bgs.

the problem is that blizz doesnt care about 5s atm, they are trying to fix tol barad, class balance and rated bgs

and this will take some month or years....

queue times are ok imo on my pool, 2-3 mins queue and about 3-5 different teams per day, but srsly isnt the queue bugged atm? I had ~20 loss atm and lost 15 games due to bugged queue like I came in with 3 shamans and the 4 one was in queue but did not get an invite, or I'm disconnecting when joining 5s arena. I'm also playing 2s and dont have any queue bugs there.
