ISBoxer Started taking FOREVER to load... Sometimes.

Normally when I launch my team, ISB does it's thing, resizing and placing each window where it goes - As soon as one is resized, the next ones opens, etc. The whole process takes less than minute.

Two days ago, it started taking anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes to open the next window. If I close a window, the next one begins opening immediately but then hangs for the 2-5 minutes before opening the next one.

It doesn't do this all the time though. It's intermittent and I cant figure out what's causing it. The only things I've done differently is add 4GB of ram to my system (for a total of 8).

Using the development build 5320 everything seems decent over here for me. Maybe you're experiencing the documented issue that's been happening since 4.0.1 with running multiple .exe's? Perhaps someone else could shine some light on this.

I'm only using one exe. I'll check that thread out again though.

I'm getting the same thing actually, not sure what it is, I can't see a pattern...

Once I let it sit there for about 20 minutes, they all load up and its quick the next time, but it would be nice to know what's causing it, maybe I'll try out the Dev patch.

That's the bug that some are experiencing when launching multiple WoW's from a single .exe. My other post wasn't clear.

Haha, I see now. Upon reading that other thread... again... I see that the first post clearly states multiple instances of the one wow.exe. I'm not sure what version of ISBoxer I'm using and I'm at work atm so I can't check. I know I've updated it once since the patch. I think it prompted me to update when I started it.

Probably running 27 like me, I'll try multiple exe's tonight and see if I can replicate the issue :)

I have the same problem. Seems like this is a problem with WoW client, not the key broadcasting software. I tried manually clicking the WoW.exe and have the same issue. First window instantaneous. Subsequent windows take a long time before launching. I have separate WoW.exe in different folders.

I just had a brain pop (thought) and remembered that my wow client had another 110mb added in the background down loader.
I also remembered that someone said the new launcher locks certain files... could this be related?

i.e. one launches, and while its checking its files it has them locked but with ISboxer we aren't seeing this? Or am I just repeating what someone else has already thought of? (quite likely, sorry!)

This morning when I got home from work, I opened my 5x layout and played for about an hour. Just to see what happened, I opened & closed it 2 more times when I was done, with no problems. I didn't change anything, I guess you just have to keep your fingers crossed lol.

Ditto. As you say, however, only sometimes. I can't spot the determining factor. I just wanted to say it's not isolated to you guys.

I, actually, haven't had this happen in about a week. I assumed they fixed it.

it's been fine since patch for me but all of a sudden bam, no worky. It takes an ETERNITY for wow to load sometimes. It's completely insane, if anyone has any ideas please post them!

I'm surprised anyone would see this issue with ISBoxer given that description of the issue, since it will only launch the next wow.exe (or any other game for that matter) once the game window has launched. If it's accurate, you could try increasing the delay between launches in your Character Set, which defaults to 1 second (after the previous game window is up and rendering in direct3d, and has been set into its window layout by ISBoxer).

Another thing to think about regarding this matter:

I had a problem the last few days with starting my instances (of the game, not those you go into with 5 chars), sometimes only one would get started, sometimes none at all. I just got an error from Inner Space, saying wow.exe exited unexpectedly or some such...

I then noticed a trojan (trojan.vundo.h), which interfered with my online banking (unrelated, i thought) and after cleaning my system WoW works like a charm again, running all 5 instances via ISBoxer like it should.

So - perhaps try using all the known methods for cleaning a computer from viruses... like
http://www.malwarebytes.org/ (this found and cleaned the trojan in my case)
http://www.avast.com (antivirus, in case you dont have one. remember to do a FULL system scan, only letting it run as a background process does not seem to be sufficient)
http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en (another antivirus for online scans, makes sense if your system is already infected and your installed antivirus software is already compromised itself)

There are other tools and I'm obviously no expert in internet security (otherwise I should have made my system more secure so it wouldn't get infected itself...), so you might try more (gmer, osam, whatever comes to mind).

That's weird, today it works fine. i'm lost as to why, didn't change anything about wow or isboxer. rebooted a couple times yesterday and also did a wow repair but that didn't fix the problem. then today, bam, works fine. dern computers!

Try checking for Viruses anyway. Mine interfered with online banking one day, but not the next.
Perhaps there really is a virus which just isn't active all the time (and it's better to make sure anyway. Especially if you don't have an authenticator!)
