Do you guys think earthquake is even worth specin into for pvp on quad box shamans?
The spell is kinda worthless imo, if very situational. If i could i would not spec it.
However, u have to spec it to be able to spend points in other trees. So u are kinda stuck with it.
I don't know. I was playing on dummies with it, and first off, it can crit. Add the knock down, and according to my tool tip it's 992dps for 8 secs. I was getting crits for over 2.5k. Multiply that x5 and you've got 5k dps without crits for 8 secs, plus the potential knockdown x5. I'm definitely going to play with it a bit.
I did a WG with it last night and 5 of those will eat through a siege tank rather quickly. Where it really proved to be useful was melee swarming in. Pop 5 magma totems and channel 5 earthquakes on top of yourself and the knockdown/damage is very effective against them. And yes, seeing them crit for 2.5k+ definitely gives potentional.
I really wanna try EOTS and put them at the end of one of the chokepoints on a bridge
hmm, im still not convinced!! =)
What would be the best way to bind/set it up with Isboxer? im just starting to play a bit around with it. Gotta make som click regions and shit to make it smooth.
with ghost wolf not being available this seems to be a very strong option vs melee
Played around in some BGs last night and after a few, I kind of like the aoe. Really nice for melee that's on you... I play boomkin/4 ele in bgs so magma x4 + starfall + earthquake x4 + hurricane (glyphed to reduce movement speed as well) > bladestorm, blood boil, etc.
Do I think it's a good AOE vs. ranged? Not in the least. But it's very effective against melee circle dancers combined with some of our other skills.
For IS Boxer, I'd enable Send Next Click, with an Action Target Group as the target.
Check KVM, so the current window does not receive the mouse click.
Then put all of your Shammies in the AoE action target group.
I actually have AoE's on three different keys, across my assorted teams.
So those keys, send next click to the appropriate ATG (AoE_4, AoE_5, or AoE_ShA).
If I want a given toon to AoE on "5", I add them to the Action Target Group, AoE_5.
My Druids are members of this group when in Boomkin spec (Hurricane), but not when in Feral spec.
Plus this way, you can mix/match characters, and have ground target AoE's work properly.
You don't actually need to take the 31 point ability, to unlock the next talent tree.
But is there a 31st point ability in the Primary Talent Tree, that is better then the bottom ability?
Ghost Wolf is available early enough in Enhancement, it will be an option by level 82 for an Elemental/Resto shammy.
Ualaa,
Thanks for the info, I tried the setup last night for my five locks for teh raining fire or whatever you call that spell, but it didnt work.
Your guide is missing the Check the KVM portion you described above. I will do that when I get home and see if that will work.
Suggestion to edit that portion in your guide, if you originally missed it. By the way, you and your guide rock!

Example F - Ground Target AoE's
A very popular Mapped Key which showcases the power of Inner Space is a "Send Next Click" option.
If the Mapped Key calls both a Ground Target type spell and an Assist type spell for your team, I would modify an existing FTL DPS key. That way, the key will already have an FTL Assist Me mapped key built in for the toons who are not casting AoE's.
If this is a stand alone AoE key, its easiest to just make a new Mapped Key from scratch.
Set the hotkey as normal (or leave it as whatever if its already an FTL DPS key). The only changes we are making is to place a Check Mark next to the "Send Next Click" box, and choosing our target as "Group (others in) AoE on 4", which was the Action Target Group we configured during the Wizard section, towards the end of the Additional Tweaking section. My (Balance) Druids do Force of Nature on "4" via the "AoE on 4" action target group, Hurricane on "5" via the "AoE on 5" ATG, and Starfall on Shift A (but no Send Next Click or ATG for this, as there is no click targeting for this last one).
When we click our DPS hotkey or the AoE key, a mouse icon appears on every screen within the Action Target Group and moves as we move the main cursor on the current screen. When we Left Click on the main screen, the other screens receive the same click. The mouse is precisely in the same position on the other screens as the main screen, which makes getting a group within the AoE very easy. Once the click is made, the mouse broadcast is instantly off again.
I just use the send next click option in ISBoxer along with a macro that centers the camera angle on all my toons to make sure that as I move the targeting circle, they're all in the same spot.
Wow. I just discovered a great use for Earthquake and this one kicks ass for running 5 shammys. Change one of your views so that all 5 shammys use the same view except at a 72 degree rotation. Now as long as your guys are facing close to the same direction, you can place 5 earthquakes in a pentagram around yourself.
Doesn't seem that useful at first, however, for those annoying rogues in bgs that love to play the sap game, this will pull them out of stealth rather quickly and reliably. :D
Also, just a side note. Earthquake deals physical damage, not nature so it goes through deterrence, cloak of shadows, evasion, anti magic shell, anti magic zone, nether protection, and spell reflection.
Me likei
If you're on a toon, that has the AoE, then you don't need the KVM thing.
If your current toon cannot AoE, then checking the KVM will prevent you from accidently changing target or clicking the ground, etc.
Because all of the toons you want to AoE are members of the ATG, even if you're on a Shammy (so the mouse click doesn't affect the toon), the toon will receive the click because of being part of the ATG.
I'll update the relevant section.
I fixed my problems with earthquake being interupted by other casts from my other toons, by using "/stopmacro [channeling]" in all my offensive macro's.
for example.
#showtooltip lightning bolt
/stopmacro [channeling]
/cast [target=focustarget, noharm] Healing Surge
/cast [target=focustarget, harm] lightning bolt
#showtooltip lava burst
/stopmacro [channeling]
/cast [target=focustarget, harm] lava burst
no idea if this goes in conjuction with what stuff ive read so far. but someone might find it useful at some point. (and yes, that was focustarget, please dont laugh :P, only just returned to boxing after 2 years of playing a solo char!!!!!)
For people who have longer macros (castsequences and the like)...
#showtooltip lava burst
/stopmacro [channeling]
/cast [target=focustarget, harm] lava burst
Can also be...
#showtooltip lava burst
/cast [nochanneling][target=focustarget, harm] lava burst
lol, looks like i need to do alot of reading up for shortening things down!
thank you for that, already added it before replying to say thanks :P
Eathquake has saved my ass quite a few times, great for getting mages!!!! Also great for snagging runners. And great when melee start running around you in circles
4x mama totems, 4x earthquake is some serious damage....
It's so nice to see those mages fall on their ass under 4x earthquakes.
I got isboxer to successfully drop earthquake on all toons but afterwards mouse broadcasting is stuck 'on'. I have to enable then disable broadcasting before things go back to normal. Any ideas how I can fix that?
btw, really starting to love isboxer!
Finally figured out what was wrong. The user was broken. :) Reinstalled innerspace/isboxer and copied pre-configured isboxer keymaps, etc then edited those instead of editing the ones included (let me learn from mistakes, etc). Got earthquake to work and the repeater automagically goes off now! w00t. heart isboxer
One note, is that other than the knockdown, Earthquake is designed to be a PvE AoE spell for specific encounters. Their "philosophy" if you will is for 3 types of PvE fights. The single target boss fight, where no multi target or aoe spells are used, then there's the 3-5 mob trash packs, where we used to just use AOE, but now they want us to burn one at a time, and use CC. Then there's the massive packs of tiny mobs, and this is what earthquake was meant for. Think of the trash in ICC, those large packs of skeletons. I was solo boxing a shammy in icc25, and on a few trash packs, I was hitting 17k DPS, and topping the charts.
Bottom line is don't expect it do do massive damage against a handful of targets, it's meant for doing damage to dozens of targets.
I don't even bother with earthquake I guess I'll test it out some tomorrow. I just melt noobs and move on.
34.3% chance per second with 4 shaman to knock someone down. not sure how long the knockdown lasts or if it has a cooldown, but its also a 4k per second aoe.
All in all, doesnt seem good for single target when you can insta-gib instead, but if youre standing back and can free cast it on a lot of enemies while they spar with your team-mates, you should be able to turn the tides pretty well
Excellent use of statistics, BrothelMeister. Few people can appreciate Binomial Probabilities!

I have started using this to defend towers in AV.
When horde is gathering outside of the top room in the tower - getting ready to rush in, you use it, it's really sweet for BGs. That and magma just trashes everyone.
Nah, I took earthquake off my PvP talents. Chain lightning, Thunderstorm, and magma totem + Fire nova are still all much better AoE spells.
If you have the opportunity to free cast, single target nuking will be better for the raid than casting a large AoE. since rogues don't do shit for damage against us anymore with all the resilience and mortal strike changes, if a rogue cloaks, just wait it out be healing or killing something else.
Mortal strike is all getting nerfed down to 10% too :P
