MACRO IS ADDED BELOW


Hey guys :)

After I created Tremor Totem Stacks and Deathgrib VS Grounding totem BUG video
I thougth this would be the right time to release my next movie

Most of us got scared when we read the clicksequence was gone in cataclysm
but at the end of the tunnel,,,, there is LIGHT =))

They sure did remove clicksequence as we know it, but something new is born

MultiBarRightButton1
( In this slot you have a standart sequence key, you start of with flameshock after that chainlightning
because it will grant you the most charges on Lightning Shield if it hits multiple targets, after that it goes for
lightningbolt twice and then chainlightning again followed by an Earthshock, the reason i put the Earthshock here is
first of all to be sure it keeps the shock cooldown ready for flameshock but also because it´s right after the chainlightning
which means if you are luckey you could in theory use Earthshock before the chainlightning effect comes which would
imidiatly make you grant some extra Lightning Shield charges right after Earthshock " I sometimes see it jumps to 6 charges
right when it hits Earthshock " and the damage from Earthshock is redicules... then 3x Lightning bolt and repeat...

You might want to create a macro without chainlightnings for single target, that requires
more lightning bolts in order to keep reaching as many charges on lightningshield as possible,
but this also means youd need an addon allowing you to make macros futher than 255 cap

This is just the standart click key, i didnt ad the command for the annoying click sound, since i basically just
made it to test it, but what it does is, it will start with MultiBarRightButton1 as the very first spell then it would try
to go for MultiBarLeftButton1 if possible since the click command for a single spell is stronger than castsequence,
when that is said when ever lava burst is ready it will go for it and there u have it

I can't imagine that the no mana consumption is intended by blizzard. Not playing ptr myself, but if i recall correct I read somewhere that this was just temp for the ptr.

About the new macro abilities: you made me curious.

:p The thing is we don´t use Watershield anymore we use Lightning shield which starts at 3 charges, it can load up to 9 charges and the way that is done is by useing lightning bolt and chainlightning each of those abilities has as 60% chance on succesfull hit to regen 2% of your entire mana which is actually alot. When that is said, my macro system uses Earthshock when it reaches around 8-9 charges on lightning shield which will boost the damage insanely by Earthshock, actually it crits for more than lava burst does, but when used it resets the shield to 3 charges and then u can start loading up again...

The reason i stay so high on mana is because of my chainlightning hitting multiple targets and theirby has a 60% chance to restore 2% mana pr hit... you do the math =)... but your right we can´t count on this.

But we can count on my macro system ;)

Don't tease!:mad: Show us NOW!!! also we might be able to help you perfect it!!!:D It looks like your just /clicking a single castsequence macro ( based on what can be seen in your video )

I think you should send a pm to someone with the code, just to make sure. Imagine something really bad happens to you (lets hope not), and you end up in hospital or so (or even worse), the burden of not sharing earlier will be too much for you my friend. Be warned!!!

Maybe I am not understanding something, but how is this any different than using /castsequence like way back in 2.3 or so? You press a button, an action comes out, you press it again, and another action comes out in a sequence. Is it just that you are happy that a spell sneaks in between spells due to latency? If that was the main thing, then the casting queue should pretty much take care of that. They are saying that you can queue up a new spell before the other one has even finished casting and the server will take out the latency for you.

Wait, what? Since when does that work? Seems to clearly be a bug if it does work as they fixed almost this exact behavior way back in what, 3.0? If this does work, what you have is the equivalent of:

/castsequence reset=10 judgement of light, divine storm, consecration, exorcism, judgement of light, divine storm, consecration
/cast crusader strike

Which you're saying would cast crusader strike every time it was off cooldown. Right?

If it currently works this way, I can't see how it isn't a bug/exploit. Is this PTR only or on live?

I barely have any latency, but I guess you don´t understand it, first of all this is a normal cast sequence, yet its made to cast lavaburst even when its not in the castsequence, a normal castsequence would get stuck if lavaburst got on cooldown after Lava Surge prock, and also it would be completely useless to have that talent if you where useing a single castsequence.. youll need to use a sequence for any other spell than lava burst then use a single key for lavaburst and make it choose lava burst as soon as the cooldown is off

It sounds like you don´t know Lava Surge is removing the cooldown of your lavaburst, it has nothing to do with latency or casting spells over other spells

The click key on lavaburst will always get choosen when ready because its not a sequence, and any click key will always prior a single key over a sequence key

It is in theory the same thing your talking about, I did use that myself before but as you said they nurfed that "BECAUSE" its 1 macro and crusader strike is a main ability, if you did that macro with some ability that isnt main ability such as Windshear it would work... yet you could get your paladin to use Crusader strike when ever its ready by using that ability out of the macro not throwing it under a sequence.. I did that with my Divine storm for my 2xt10 procs and its flawless


It works on live servers, and it works on PTR server and it also works in BETA :)

That is pretty awesome ... tested it on live (i dont do ptr/cata) and it just works as he described. However it first casts flame shock, than chain lightning (so the first 2 spells in castsequence) and then lava burst. Same when I put light bolt as 2nd spell btw? I.e: it executes the first 2 spells in the castsequence and then moves on to lava burst.

Since this is working on live and apparently on ptr/beta, I don't really see why we should fear a nerf, unless it's a bug (which would be weird as they have reviewed the click abilities).

I'm trying this with my DK on live and it's not working at all.

Castsequence on one button, death coil on the next and a /click pointing to them both. It executes the castsequence but never the death coil.

Thoughts?

So I just tested the following on live:

Click 1:
/castsequence judgement of light, crusader strike, consecration, crusader strike, exorcism, crusader strike

Click 2:
/cast <spell>

Where <spell> is, I tried Divine Storm and a raft of other spells. Nothing ever fell through to the second click button. I tried both a simple /cast macro in that button and dragging the spell from the spellbook. Nada.

Update to my previous post:

button 1 =/castsequence reset=combat Flame Shock, Lightning Bolt, Lightning Bolt,Chain Lightning, Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt
button 2 =/cast lava burst

casting order = flame shock, lightning bolt, lava burst, lightning bolt, chain lightningn .... and whenever lava burst is available

macro just proceeds even if exorcism is on cooldown (so flash of light, flash of light, exorcism, flash of light, etc). weird thing though is that it does not cast exorcism whenever it's available, it was rather a bit random

i just tested the OPs macro on beta at 85 ( premade) and it works as described. It basically has LvB working like a fall through macro would.. if that does not get nerfed ( I'm sure it will ) thats sweet because we already knew we would have to revert to old school /castsequence again. Managing those extra LvBs will suck while boxing without this. I also find it difficult to match the DPS doing it manually. Although at 85 it burns through the mana pretty fast.

Once again, you can not add it into 1 macro

you need a seqeunce on macro = MultiBarRightButton1
then single spell on macro = MultiBarLeftButton2

And then u need the click macro that says

/click MultiBarRightButton1
/click MultiBarLeftButton2

And then you throw in trinkets racials and what ever you want... Dont try to make it into 1 macro thats not how this works

Click will work as long as its only linked to only 1 sequence macro and then you can add an ability such as Lavaburst that isnt a macro at all, you can´t make it link to multiple sequence macros though :)

Nice work on the tutorial, regarding some of the responses, I think it's always been like this. A cast sequence will drop through if you spam it, as long as the cast sequence spell has a cast time longer than the global cool down, or is instant but off the global cooldown. So a paladin won't get much joy out of it :(. If you call/press/click/mash the sequence again before the spell has finished but after the cooldown, it'll drop through, or something like that.

I never used /click but I appreciate it's many benifits, so sorry to hear its changed for those who'll miss it.

To be a little more constructive, a shaman can abuse wind shear (instant but off global) to gain some of the dps lost due to the "/castsequence" by making their main spell a "/cast" at the end of the macro.

But only worth thinking about if you find that "/castsequence lb" to lower dps over "/cast lb".

I've not played ptr so could be talking out of my exhaust fan.

I just tried this and I am amazed at how well this works.

Can only be used with spells that have a cast time due the server client relationship of /castsequence. Will not work for melee as all their abilities are instant cast.

The only reason it works is due to the same reason /castsequence is a dps loss over /cast.

Well that explains why it's not working with Death Coil :/ Oh well.

My ele shaman on live has been using a macro like this (in a single macro) for over a year, and as SmartJelly already pointed out, it can only fall through to the next line after a spell with a longer cast time than the global cooldown.

This is nothing new, but is indeed the way to do things in cata.

I have been testing a few variations of this on beta, and will start testing this on live today. I was doing many rounds on the target dummies using the exact macro the OP used. I ended up getting the best results using two hotkeys on my main bar

button#1 /castsequence reset=combat flame shock, unleash elements
/button#2 /click hotbarbutton9
/click hotbarbutton10 ( this is just for example.. i use bartender bars )

then i just have a single target version of...

/castsequence lightning bolt,lightning bolt ( its has to be a /castsequence for the fall through LvB to work)

and a ae version with..

/castsequence cl,lb,lb, ( CL is on a 3 second timer so in ae situations where theres too few mobs for earthquake this will cast cl then two LBs and repeat, at 85 it burns the mana up fast)

So i hit button#1 to apply FS and UE. Using UE ups the dps a lot if you apply it to be used with the next LvB. UEs cooldown last the same time as the FS dot ( unglyhped ) So i watch the cooldown on UE to determine when to hit button #1 again.
Due to the nature of LvBs being up at different times, due to Lava Surge resets, a LvB might not always be ready when you use your Unleash Elements, thats ok.. it will apply the bonus damage on your next LvB. You just don't want to waste it on a flame shock, thus why I made a macro casting FS then UE. Again, this will be for boxing and not if your playing a shamy solo, where you can time your FS applications and UE more precisely.

You can also include everything in a single macro like the OPs and do ok,but i got upward of 2k+ more dps doing it my way.

note: Unleash Elements is a lvl 81 spell, so its not in the OPs macro since hes testing on PTR at 80.

Unleash Elements: Focuses the elemental force imbued in the Shaman's weaponry, with the concentrated effects depending on the enchantment unleashed.
See individual weapon imbue spell tooltips for details regarding the effects of unleashing each.
7% of base mana, 40 yd range, Instant cast, 15 sec cooldown

So when used with Flametongue weapon enchant: ( Unleash Weapon : Unleashing this enchantment deals 1022.97 to 1213.03 Fire damage to an enemy target and increases the damage dealt by the Shaman's next Fire spell by 20%. )

Wondering if these macros could be stickied once confirmed. I imagine there will be a lot of needless threads created for people wanting to find the new macro set for each class.

So you basically need a castsequence of abilities with cast times in excess of the GCD.
And then a /cast of a single ability.

no.. just stick the lava burst on its own button ( no macro ) and have the second /click line diercted to it

It will be interesting to see what the effect of "tuning" your latency into bliz's new system has on this strategy. If this effectively removes the small gaps between each spell in the castsequence then our fall through will not work, so possibly not the ideal solution for shammies, but will hopefully be a tool to remove the latency penalty for castsequence for other classes.

Downloading patch now, but if anyone gets to test this with the custom latency tuner, please post.

Is there an updated version to this, say if you have the flame shock prime glyph it makes flame shock last 50% longer?
