You guys are coming out of the woodwork ~1700MMR. Having been playing 5s as a solo toon for the past month I can definitely see why so many people are anti boxing. It's pretty lame to get global'd before you even see the druids. The funny thing is we ran across 2 different 5 boomkins that were just 5 random boomers. But we ran across 4 different 5 boomkin teams last night. We also ran across a 5 resto shaman team.
I hate boomkinteams!!!

Couldn't 5 different boomkins do the same thing? I fought 5 boomkins who were all non-boxed, it even sucked more.
I managed to get through their first starfall, but then they kited the hell out of me, rezed etc...
I think the 5 people boomers are definitely worse than the boxed boomers. For us they're pretty much a free kill. My team is uncannily good at finding stealth'ed people. Early one we'd eat 3 starfalls before we'd kill them, but lately we've gotten much better and are able to kill them after the first starfall. The one time we lost to a 5 boomer team last night (a boxed team) was when I hymn'd too early, the mage iceblocked too early, and I turned around and was global'd in the face.Quote:

Anyway, Starfall and Bladestorm need to be nurfed - and they will be. They are just no skills buttons, almost like when DK's had the cower effect on death and decay. It was stupid, took no skill, and was op.
yep, how we counter it is to spread out and hot everyone up / bubble everyone. Soon as the first person starts taking damage we Tranqulity, Hymn, Iceblock, Cloak, grounding totem and hope for the best. While we're spread out it forces them to unload on 1 target, not the entire group. Worst case scenario they global our shaman or mage and we finish them quickly after that. We also 9/10 get them out of stealth before they can open on us, or we'll get a sap on one and the rest have to run away or regroup.Quote:

ROFL! I wondered if that was you but I didn't catch your names fast enough to armory. Yeah, I think DK/4 rets is something a druid / disc just can't heal through. And yeah, I'll make you work for a kill on me :_D We've seen Xiopathe a few times, he/she's the best 5x boomkin we've faced. I think what happens is stealth -> starfall -> Shadowmeld. The one time they killed us last night we pretty much all died instantly cause he got the jump on us.Quote:

I think it's going to be insane. Their ranged root is now AE for 8 yards from the target. You're going to be able to AE Root/Solar Beam/3x Nuke in a rotation. Solar Beam incapacitates for 3 second too. Plus each one has a ranged knock down. Plus Typhoon.
If they could heal in Boomkin I think they'd be better than Shamans.
i doubt they'll be viable, aoe got nerfed beyond recognition. I mean BEYOND recognition. it's just about laughable the amount of damage aoe does per person now.
Who said anything about AE?
Their ROOT is now AE. Add in the knockdown spell plus the 3 second incapacitate and it really does look like Boomkin will be able to completely disable while killing. Sure in 5's it may not work out but it sure as heck will in BG's.
Starsurge no longer knocks down. I think it's compensation for the AE root and the fact it can proc and be instant-cast now.

My suggestion is for the opener: 4x Boomkin in one spot in reach of the enemies and 1x Boomkin somewhere else. The solo-Boomkin in stamina/resilience pumped equip and going into Moonkin-Form before starfalling (intentionally, that the opponents can see you). This should bring a sweet surprise when the starfall still seemingly goes through the cc thrown at the solo-boomkin and does insane damage.
