I posted this in the other thread that discusses this group, but I thought I'd add it to the movie section too. Please note that this video was just made a proof of concept, and there are many, many things I could do to improve (most notably actually adding dispel to my keys).
Not sure how to make it HD. I'll have to check out FRAPS to see if it's an option, or possibly Windows Movie Maker.

HAHAHAHA - That is awesome. Sadly, now I'll consider rolling a DK/4 priest team, as that would be good for both random dungeons and dominant in bgs.
IMO, dispell more often, but I'm no expert on priests. In either case, U loved the video. :)
Lol, I don't even have dispel keybound yet. There's a pretty embarassing moment when that mage sheeps me and I just stare at my main. Ideally I would have just dispelled it. In this case I didn't even switch to a slave because I didn't know what would happen with FRAPS. I was thinking to myself, there's no way I'm going to post this part of the video because how bad I am, but when I survived through all that I thought it showed the massive healing and damage that could be done, so I included it. At the very end of that clip a druid starts casting hurricane on me, and gets one shotted back, but I must have stopped FRAPS.
-I really need to put fear ward on a round robin and then have a dispel chain.
-I really need to have them cast PW:Shield on themselves so anyone who AoEs the team gets hurt badly.
-When I have the talents I really need to make a click to "oh shit" button that round robins a pain suppression on whomever I target as well as cast stone form.
-I should probably incorporate SW:Pain.
-Um... I should probably include my DK, though I'm just learning how to PvP with him. Most likely I see him just freezing people at a far range and allowing me to pick them off, AoE with the rest during a swarm, and death gripping those damn hunters (who seem to give me the biggest problem, excluding fear).
-Oh yeah, I might as well throw in a fear every once in awhile... if nothing else it could interrupt things. I kind of want peeps bunched up, though
Sooo much potential. I might as well enjoy them now before Cata goes live, as this may no longer be possible. Too bad... they were going to get buffed beyond belief with the proposed talents.
Yeah, they're like 69.8, so unfortunately no more BGs until level 75 or so. The crappy part about this team is they NEED to be in the same group. So far I've had lots of success getting the BG Leader to give me leader or assist, but that's pretty much impossible in AV. If this team survives the changes, then rated BG AV will be 25 man (plus more organization anyway) so they should be fine.Quote:

Trick to getting in same group, is to either have lightning fast reflexes and enter BG the moment it pops, or wait to the very last second and try to get the last group.

I'll probably have another video in the next week. I'm getting more and more confidence this team is legit - of course who knows if they will be viable in Cataclysm.
I'm currently 72 and holding my own in BGs against fairly large groups of 71-79. I just bought the holy nova glyph (should have had it a long time ago) so that will make for even more fun.
The difference between being in the same group and split 3-2 in two groups is huge... I need them in the same group or else they're just not good. AV weekend will be interesting. By then I should be in the high 70s so although I'll be spread out at least I'll have a level advantage for the push to 80.
Reflective shield x 5 in large groups does some nice damage :)
Makes me want a priest team. Fear has to be a bitch though. Maybe a shaman for tremor?

Fear is a bitch and a shaman for the fifth wouldn't be a bad idea. Honestly I'm not sure what the best fifth player is. I decided to roll with a fifth priest using the logic that if I could, I'd have 25 priests all spamming holy nova (assuming it hit raid wide, and not party), so why not maximize the synergy and go with all priests? However, I think a shaman would be good for protection against fear, a mage for frost nova (combined with fear would be nice so they stay in the AoE storm), or a DK for those damn hunters that continue to rape me.
I'm certainly not the best player around, but I'm having trouble with dispell rotations when I have only one guy fear warded. It's probably because my system isn't set up for quick enough reaction. However, even if you just use the simple method of every priest has a fear ward and every priest has a trinket, then you're still getting two fear protections every couple of minutes - better than my druids at least.
Have a round robin dispel. If one guy is not feared he can get another unfeared, or you can just mass dispel. Did they take away fear ward? If you see someone that can AoE fear coming you could just buff everyone with it and then laugh when nothing happens.

Well with ISBoxer, and mouse click passing, Mass Dispel might not be a bad way to go either. Use your round robin system to get at least 1-2 priests free, and mass dispel over your guys, and you should be free of just about everything, and purge a lot of stuff off of anyone on top of you.
Yeah, one thing I haven't been doing is purging my targets.
I'm basically taking a stepping stone approach with incorporating abilities.
It started with holy fire, holy nova and smite only.
Then I added dispel rotations, PW:Shields, SW:Death
Then I added PW:Pain, fear (though not round robin yet so that needs to be changed obviously)
Still need to add renew, pain suppression (when I am high enough level, though it's going away for this team in Cata but will be replaced with the 31 point holy talent), devouring plague, and lots of other stuff
I'm sure I'll make a new video in the next few days - I had lots of fun doing the first one even though there wasn't any music or editing. It's fun watching yourself play :) I smile seeing how bad I was when the mage sheeped me (I didn't have dispel keybound yet), and was disappointed that I stopped the video before that druid got nuked while casting hurricane on me.

Looking at the new cata talents, it looks like holy nova might have a cast time, and will consume your SoL proc.
Some are betting that's a typo, and I'm thinking it is too. Wouldn't make a whole lot of sense to reduce the GCD on holy nova unless it's an instant. The typo is likely supposed to be for flash heal, like the current talent. Who knows... any beta tester out there?Quote:

This is what I just read on my the forums regarding holy nova in Cataclysm. It is from a thread comparing paladin's Healing Hands to priest's Holy Nova. I don't care about the pally, but it's interesting to see a beta test tell about the changes made to holy nova:
-The party bound restriction oh Holy Nova has been removed (wow, that's new!)
-No cast time (same as always, still instant)
-No cooldown (same as always)
-Improved Holy Nova increases its crit rating by 50% (we already knew this)
-Improved Holy Nova decreases its GCD to 0.5 seconds (we already knew this)
-Surge of Light ensures every other cast is 100% mana free (wow!!! that means the tooltip was correct... so the best of both worlds, you can choose for either your smite to be free or your holy nova... no more free flash heal, which is fine by me)
This is very good news for the team, and makes up for smites no longer healing. I don't think it makes up for divine aegis no longer possible as well as reflective shield, but trying to look on the brite side.
The bad part is I can see all holy priests just spamming holy nova in the expansion, which likely means they're going to pump the mana cost through the roof (it's already high) or reduce the damage component.
I'm trying to get my team to 80 with some good gear before patch 4.0 so I can show off some of the pre-Cata changes. Overall I'm happy with this buffage to holy nova, though worried it will get quickly nerfed as I can see it being an ability that every holy priests spams non-stop in BGs.
That is looking pretty awesome, and i think what will keep it from getting nerfed (too much at least) is its relatively short range.

Wanted to thank you for sharing your own experience with your group of priests and for the movie. It inspired me to farm the cloth heirlooms and weapons to make my own team.
Would be nice to see more movies from you.

i can confirm the changes owl, i got into beta luckily :) so far thats how it sits, i transfered one premade 80 priest and with some 251 pve gear its a pretty fun spec, the reflective thing sucks that you cant get to it but we gotta trade some awesome for some awesome :) lol

I'm 99% sure Blizzard isn't going to allow hybrid builds, so hope of having reflective shield come back is futile. I'm going to try to set up a compilation video of killing moonkins and warriors using just reflective shield... it's my favorite thing about the team :) I love having them use their cooldown which usually allows them to dominate, and seeing them die just from that.
In the new video I usually start big fights with power infusion - it's a massive survivability and DPS increase. Allowing my holy nova spam to cost 20% less and my GCD to be reduced by 20% is huge. I mention that because in Cata, my mana cost is going to be cut by 50% and my holy nova GCD cut by 66% - all the time (from every other holy nova being free). Plus, if there is every anyone who is fighting along side me, they're going to get so many heals they'll worship the Ugly Guys from then on (no longer party wide restriction on holy nova - I see that getting nerfed). I can truly see a priest team turning the tide in AV battle if that's the case.
I'm looking forward to it, and might level some more priests myself, got so many teams i really want to level though :S
