Oh my fucking God! I am pissed beyond words right now. My first day off from work in a week and I get no play. And this is real sad but I'm contemplating moving a group to a different server for shit like this.... Goddamn I'm an addict!
Edit: anyone on a good horde side realm that isn't being taken down all day?
Hmm, they said "as they prepare for the upcoming expansion" its probably just major hardware upgrades, but maybe its more.... Im sure they wont release cata until blizzcon, im sure blizzcon will be the date they announce the cata release date, and what all is gonna be in the collectors edition.
But yeah, 24 hr downtime... ouch. Id almost rather it be 48 hours total, but spread out over a couple weeks or something :(
Dude calm down. Blizzard would never take down their entire cluster of servers for 24 hours straight., I'm sure they're staggering this 24 hour maintenance on different battlegroups from week to week for the Cataclysm and Battle.net upgrades. If you're not seeing it this week you'll see it next week, or the week after that.Quote:

I can only imagine what it is going to be like on the servers that aren't being taken down. There will be a wave of alts and level 1s swarming all over the place. I might stay away even though our server (Stormrage) is only having normal maintenance tomorrow.

This is a server that is years old and has never had much traffic. In fact, it was listed as a "New Players" server last night. Guess a bunch of people really needed their fix. Even better, is that it is the ONLY queued server listed right now.Quote:
