Pretty sure I'm creating my lock team today, which means a looong non-RAF journey of leveling up. :(
For PvP, which healer would you recommend for the fifth toon? I've been thinking druid the whole time, but maybe having a resto shaman with some totem buffage for the felguards would be better.
Thoughts?
i think the driuds mobility would more than make up for the totems, espically if you take the locks affliction, you could be completely mobile with dots and hots
Shaman brings Bloodlust...
Paladins would still be good for the same reason they rock on Shaman teams.
Priests would be the least helpful since their CC shares DR with yours

Actually its the Locks you need clarification on. Lock pets do not benefit from melee haste buffs, or agility or strength buffs.
Their strength comes from your spell power. Their haste doesn't change.
The earth bind totem wouldn't be too helpful for the locks, as I don't see a multi boxer as being much of the one kiting so much as vice versus.
only reason i would go with a druid is if you were taking them affliction, if you are going demo then it wouldn't be much of an advantage, i have my lock team with a driud but they are all affliction and in pvp i never stop running around, someone gets close i just turn around dot them up and heal who they are hitting on with the drood.
works great for me but they are only 70 so might be different for 80s, just food for thought.
demo spec you might stop and case something and then the mobility factor just isn't being used
I went with a Disc priest, with my four locks.
The mobility was nice in the few WSG's I've run.
But the team is still rather low, and mainly PvE focused for now.
They were envisioned as a PvP team, and will be at end-level.
If you want a mobile style.
Corruption and Agony as the main spells.
I'd only look at Resto Druids or Disc Priests.
But the Shammy brings a lot, if you're willing to play the Turret style, and surrender your mobility.
I'd say druid and go 4x affliction.
Mobility is the main weakness from a boxer, if you can make yourself more mobile, i know i would.
Druids/priests are best because of instant heals. Sucks when your healer is getting beat on and your team needs a heal. Hots and instants are awesome for that.
It's a tough choice.
Who is harder to kill, when you focus on them.
A disc priest or a resto druid, who is pvp geared.
From a playing them point of view.
They're both very mobile healers.
The druid kind of needs to pre-hot the team.
But you can do that with a castsequence.
Kind of like....
/castsequence [target=5] ,,,,,,,,,,,,,Rejuv
/castsequence [target=4] ,,,,,,,,,Rejuv
Etc.
Do that with each of your hots and roll them.
The priest has instant Holy Nova, which is more healing then you normally need.
And that is totally mindless for battlegrounds.
Not sure either healer will work in 5's, in arena, or which of the two would be better.
When someone is focused, the priest has Pain Suppression, PW: Shield and Flash Heal/Penance.
I'd say the priest is better at reaction/twitch healing, so I went with them.
But the resto is no slouch; I've had times when its hard to drop one tree with a team.
besides survivabilty the way you heal is something you should think about aswell.
Since you have to prehot to avoid seriously gibbing, where a priest is much better at healing several chars up fast.
That isn't a problem really, just work your hots into your pvp buttons so the Druid is constantly rolling on everyone. It's not like the Druid will run oom

Yes you got innervate, once every 3 minutes. Hotting up 5 targets will drain your mana very fast.
I played with a fully geared Druid, and he did not go oom fighting for 10 straight minutes against a 2k team.
He was all spellpower, resil and spirit tho, not so much on haste or crit. with enough mana regen, the healer won't go oom.
I'm guessing the resto druid was playing solo? I think the problem mentioned earlier in this thread is that we have limited options for reaction time since there is so many other things we need to do. Because of that, in order for the druid to be effective it must be rolling HoTs on everyone all the time, which would drain mana quickly.Quote:

If you let blooms bloom and hit wild growth on every cd and glyph innervate druids mana is like never ending. Trust me hot rolling is doable for long periods of time look at the cata threads for druids. I've grouped with druids in 10/25 ICC that hot roll their way through boss fights without having to pay attention to anyones health.

You can practically win a 2vs2 match wih 100% mana, if you CC properly and drink when needed or just kite and avoid damage.
Just get a druid in full wrathful to hot up 1 or 2 character and spam wild growth. If he doesn't oom, i'll do whatever you can think off. I actually play a resto druid myself, so i'm not that clueless >.>
We're not talking about 2vs2 with endless CC, we're talking about BG where you have to outheal dps from 5 people at once or so. Especially in AV / IoC where you got large groups of alliance/horde focussing for the annoying boxer.
Imagine a Warrior bladestorming 5 clothies. That's like awesome good times for him. A wild growth and lifebloom isn't gonna cut it there. And that's just 1 character. (asuming you don't have 1,4k resi obviously, since you're gearing.)
I'm not about to say you're doing it wrong (Oh dang I just did) but for the 3rd time, the Druid I ran 5s with was solo healing the entire team, and not going oom.
My shaman would all be completely empty, and he would still have 80-100%
The only thing that's going to oom a skilled Druid healer is a priest (or lock) successfully free casting Mana burn (Drain).

With lock groups, you DO kite a lot. Go affliction and let the dots chew up the guy chasing you. Sure, you might not kite as much or as easily as soloers but with a dot/instant-based class, your mobility is very high if you stay on the ball.Quote:
