Recovery from fear in arena

I have read bits and pieces about this but what are the tactics some of you guys use to recover from a howl / fear that has put your toons all over the place and out of 30 yards to press your auto follow?

My Jamba strobing doesnt seem to strobe at all once stunned / cc'd no matter how close they are to my master.

I have setup interact with target macros but all toons just want to run to it and not just face it like i thought they should.. I thought having isboxer and all the assist functionality once they have been feared and facing the wrong way they should simply turn around and face the target my main is attacking to assist? Struggling a bit with these even though I have spent many hours researching.

While your main is CC'd, be it fear, sheep, sap or cyclone, no one else can read what the target of the main is.
Once the CC drops from a given toon, the others should be able to assist (or FTL assist, Focus assist, etc) to acquire its target.

If you have Click to Move enabled.
And hit your IWT hotkey.
The toons should run towards the target (to melee it), if they're in range of it.
It has to be a hostile target.
And the maximum range, is approximately 3x further then /Follow.
If you had a friendly target which you could interact with (quest giver maybe), then IWT to recover should work too, in world pvp.
The same maximum range applies.

Quite a few people have two step IWT mapped keys.
Execute on press or release.
Step 1 - Send IWT to all windows.
Step 2 - Send Down Arrow (or any movement key) to break follow.

I may not be the best at this whole PvP thing, but I know for a fact that this is not true. If it were true, one rogue would always beat me, and they NEVER do.

Quite often I get sapped on my main in BGs, all I do is drop totems on the other 3 Shaman and wait. From the main window I can still target the rogue after he pops out and the 3 slaves assist the main (CCed) toon. I can only imagine what hell it would be if the rogue could CC my main (since I hardly ever change mains) and rape targets one at a time.

Might not be true anymore.
I remember in arena, we used to do macros like this:

#show Lightning Bolt
/targetlastenemyplayer
<Insert Assist>
/cast Lightning Bolt

Because... the Target line allowed the toons to at least DPS some, while the lead was Cycloned.
But that was when Keyclone was pretty much the only option, there was no FTL yet etc.
So switches were not instant, and we used Party leader or Focus or Target (No Focus Manifesto) as the assist methods.

I've not arena'd competitively period.
Nor have I done so at all in quite some time, aside from losing my 10 games without even entering.
So current arena, could very likely be quite different on the targeting now.
Although I know it was true a while ago.

Are you staggering your tremors? Fears really shouldn't scatter you that far. I use a 2 stage IWT button like Ualaa mentioned, and I swap to a diff char when my main get's cc'd.

Thank you for the feedback all, I just started using staggered tremors after reading more and writing this post.. The problem i was having was dropping my tremor in the start area then the other teams rushing me and not giving me time to stagger them outside the start zone.. I have worked out a bit of a system and the vidoes on this website have also made a huge difference. :)

I would still like to know if it is possible to make them all face my target without running to it at 10 to 20 yards away.

Sap and cyclone won't affect your target, however, polymorph and fear will definitely cause you to lose your target.

perhaps lose your target (although I'm fairly certain that this is not true). but you can still DEFINITELY target a player while polymorphed

Correct. The real problem is that while you are polymorphed, when your other toons try to assist they won't aquire a target until polymorph wears off.

I have my slaves attack my target without targeting it themselves, and it works just fine...
