3980 Forgemaster Garfrost kills (Pit of Saron). 1 hour ago
Gratz dude!
Awesome grats sitting at 1714 myself on dk+rets and shamans are almost 1700 so if im lucky ill have 2 teams 1800+ weee. Ill tell you tho its so much harder on dk+rets than shamans i want to smash the keyboard every other game.
wait what does doing FOS normal drop/do for you?
Must be an armory bug - if we assume 5 kills per hour (instance resets) it would take 100 days of playing 8 hours a day to get that many kills :P
that would explain all the queldelars
No it wouldn't - hilts only drop in heroic mode, which you can only run once a day. The explanation of the swords is much more simple - gold :-) (5 hilts arent all that expensive anymore - especially if you have a couple of alchemy teams and/or are good at playing the AH).
Very nice, gratz. :)
nvm
Gratz!
Still a great accomplishment.
Three fucking months to get from 1800 to 1950 so I can upgrade my helm....
Healing and resilience are fucking insane in arena.
At this point it's about lucky repents/hammers really since the last match yesterday that brought me up to 1952 was against a 2250 MMR team. I've had 1900 teams beat me before with me having no chance of even denting one of them.

[edit] bah...old post. Nevermind.
3 months for 1800-1950? Ouch that's rough. I was up to 1920 this weekend but then tanked my rating back down to mid 1800s with some bad losses and helping my priest healer get his PR up :(
Hoping to push to 1950-2k range this week for helm/shoulders :)
I guess nobody knows that when you use the dungeon tool you can reset an instance as many times as you want and it will not be counted against the 5 instances / hour limit?
I kill Garfrost every day like 40-50 times. That's my gold farming techique. It takes about 2 hours.
50 * 8 months = 50 * 240 days = 12000 kills
You can see that I actully took some breaks on some days since i'm only at 10k :)
Don't compare 4 shamans + dedicated healer with Dk + 4 rets. Your team is 2 people, my teams is only one, me. Shamans + dedicated healer has been proven time and time again that it can reach very high ratings, DK + 4 rets WITHOUT a dedicated healer has been done only ONCE at high ratings in S7.
I'm very curious what your escape from fear is, and how much you rely on passive healing vs. running away and casting heals...
WTB Video of DK + 4 Rets in Arenas :0
Until they announed the removal of Cleanse for rets I was doing a rotation scheme. See this thread:
http://www.dual-boxing.com/showthread.php?t=29414
But now that Cleanse is going away I'm trying to get used to not depend on it anymore, and when a fear bomb I just spam trinket on all 5. It doesn't feel much more different but maybe it's because as I'm in almost full Wrathful gear my survivability went up a lot.
Regarding the healing part. I rarely stop to cast heals, I only do that if i'm out of sight from their dps. In the middle of the fight stopping to cast heals doesn't do much if there's 3 of their DPS focusing one of me and I have MS on me.
What I do is no matter what I alyways choose the target closest to me, usually a melee, and when deathgrip is ready I DG one of the healers to interrupt him.
The reason for this is as long as the paladins are in close combat and they keep hitting someting Art of War is always up, and I mean ALWAYS. Not necessarily on all the paladins but at least 2 out of 4 have it up all the time. The moment I can't hit something I'm dead. So my top priority is to hit something no matter what. Sometimes I even hit a hunter or warlock pet just to hit something. That procs my AoW and gives me time to wait until DG is up again.
But many teams get smart and they realize this and their melees run away from me as long as I start pounding on them. Or the hunter/lock pulls the pet away from me. These are the teams that beat me most of the time.
I remember a match where they had 3 healers and 2 MS warriors. They just coudln't kill me no matter how much they were Bladestorming me. The whole game was me switching between the 2 warriors back and forth until I could DG one of the healers and I killed him in one shot literally because I used Wings at that moment on pallies. After that the other 2 healers were low on mana so it was game over. 2 dps can't take me down no matter what and I never run OOM. Actually the more I hit something the more my mana goes up.
how do you only cast heals on the characters that have the instant cast ready? and how do you target heals, do u have a different heal button for each of your 5 targets (+1 pet ?) targets?
also, what are your system specs? I'm becoming interested in 5 boxing now after reading this lol
I don't know if he uses a similar setup, but when I play my mixed melee group my ret paladin has a /stopcasting /cast [@targettarget] flash of light macro.... That way if it is not an instant cast it instantly stops and does my next dps ability.
do you mean
/cast flash of light
/stopcasting
??
Option1:
/cast flash of light
/stopcasting
or
Option2:
/stopcasting
/cast flash of light
Will do the same thing.
First press option 1 cast if you press while casting it stops casting... Option 2 first press it will cast flash of light (nothing to stop casting)... 2nd press option 2 will interrupt the cast.
Ah, good thinking, I like option2 better :-)
