I wanna know the extremes of this totem :)
On one extreme end you have COMPLETELY WORTHLESS.
On the other extreme end you have COMPLETELY WORTHLESS +1.
With the amount of crazy AoE damage in current end game stuff now, this totem ranks up there with sentry totem.
yeah must say when i do heroics i dont need to heal if I have 4 shammies with it down.. around 1.2k per tick (across all 4), like in HOS, the event with the adds that run to you, and all that goodness.
in PvE, i run only one shaman in my team, and rarely use it, as cleansing totem prevents more damage than healing totem would produce. It should probably scale a bit better with gear, as currently, with the kind of health pools most toons have these days, a couple hundred healing every 2 seconds is hardly worth it. I still use 4-5 of em in PvP though, as it does start to add up once they are stacked. Still, its losing its usefulness as we get geared up.
A tick of 334 with most raid buffs, no food, pots or felguard. This seems to be what Niley is seeing.
Yep and limited to one group makes it poopoo. Would be awesome if it was raid wide, get 2 tanks, and fill the rest with shaman. 23 healing tick ftw with near 7k per second heal, that raid group would be nigh unkillable without insta death type spells. Only the tanks would need any extra heals.
500 and something from a resto shaman.
Not a big deal anyways, because in raids, where you need a resto shaman that healing is useless and usually a mana or cleansing totem is used.
Well - he did say "extremes" - suggesting that you would have higher end / extreme end gear to get such EXTREME results.
We're not talking about extreme level 10s. Not extreme level 47s. Extreme end would suggest level 80. And the extreme end of level 80 would be "current end game"
If the OP wanted "extreme heroic results" - I would hope he would specifically ask for that.
He didn't ask for opinions of it's value or usefulness, either. He just wanted to know what the extremes were.
I think ive seen 500+ with trinket -not overly sure- however, my totem is enormous :D. Speaking of which do they get bigger when you hit bloodlust/heroism, or, was that wishful thinking? Never checked as im usually glued to my tonk's screen
I think Fur was pretty accurate in saying it was extremely not useful in most extreme (ENDGAME HEROICS ARE NOT EXTREME KKTHKS) conditions. Unless you're raiding with SO many shaman they just need something to drop, then sure, blow your pants off with all the healing streams you want.
You can't discuss extremes without value(s)
You can discuss extremes without values if someone doesn't care whether it's useful or not. He just asked how much was possible.
Must say that as a fresh 80 healing totems where key to survive. Now that i geared up a bit i hardly ever use one.
It saddens me that this is what multiboxing has been reduced too.
Passive (afk) healing with totems and one button spam click macros. My dogs could roll heroics with how a lot of you play.
Someone asked a question. He didn't ask for you to pass judgment on how you think he plays. If you think it's a stupid question, just ignore.

healing stream totem is listed there.
Was it not you who put together a thread regarding /click macros for shamans? Correct me if I'm wrong. Are you saying that you yourself would never stoop so low as to use those very same macros?Quote:

Are you also suggesting that we make it as difficult as possible on ourselves? Just what exactly is wrong with using totems to your advantage if it makes the transition from fresh 80 to farming heroics that much smoother.
My PVE team is a mixed team anyway, so the healing totem thing is moot to me, but I'm just curious what your point was?
But that is the thing, go look at just about every post he makes. There is always something smartass in it.
I love reading the forums and I will never be able to contribute to the community what he has. But seriously, I think people might be scared to post silly/unanswered questions for fear that they might be bitch slapped by his comments.
The op was looking for numbers, no matter how you read it.
I have no intention of ignoring you, I usually get a good chuckle out of your arrogance. Sometimes, like in this particular case, I feel the need to pipe up.
I realize everyone has different styles of Multiboxing, I understand you are a pure hardware boxer, and my hats off to you. Again, my point was, why are you bitching about other people using click macros when you also use them? Why are you complaining about people using 4x healing stream totems when, as I understand the history of Multiboxing multiple shamans in WoW, that was one of the benefits?
I can haz ignore?
Fur's got issues. I think he forgot his meds today (all too common occurance it seems).
Cut him some slack. After all, taking shots at posters whenever the opportunity presents itself is how he maintains his sanity (err insanity?).
Oh, and let's not forget that the way Fur multi-boxes takes demonstrable skill vs a commoner using a silly thing like 4 healing stream totems.
Closing this thread before it gets any more derailed.
