Today after the patch I as in UK getting rolled over and over again by trash mobs due to chain fears.
They literally would fear my guys at the very begining of the fight, tremors did not seem to work, and when they recovered they would get feared again. I got rolled 7 times on the same 3 mobs due to spending the entire fight feared.
I have never seen this before I did not know if it was bad luck or has anyone else noticed a change to how often mobs fear?
Mobs in UK fear? I've never seen anything in there fear, that's crazy

Which mobs are casting fear? I've don't remember being feared in there and I've run it with both melee and caster teams...

I didn't know any mobs in Utgarde Keep feared.
Sure plenty do in Pinnacle. I think one of the guys that chucks Fire Grenades might have a disorient effect on anyone under #1 in threat but dont remember any fears.
Care to enlighten us mere mortals Fursphere?
Its the warriors I think? The ones with the ghouls - its a pretty rare thing - but it does happen.

Sorry I get UK and UP mixed up all the time. The one with Skadi in it. I have seen them fear on occasion but in this case they were fearing as soon as I started any type of aggro and then just feared over and over again. Usually I just pull 6 to 9 mobs at a time in there AOE them down. This one pack of three just kept chain fearing the fight start to finish.
I have probably cleared this dunegon 20 or 30 times and have never seen them fear that much. Usually when they do a tremor catches it and I can recover. This time it was just one fear after another.
So just to clarify before we all whinge at each other for being the biggest noob and not knowing what mobs do what - you are talking about the packs of undead mobs after you kill Skadi. The melee mobs who fear and the necromancers who summon adds? There is about 5 packs of them total at the end of the instance.
You are also saying that these guys just chain fear nonstop after patch?
Will keep it in mind and report back if I get UP tonight. :)
My staggered Tremors were fine, against the big dinosaur boss in Drak'Tharon Keep today.
With three shammies, fear lasts up to a second, but is usually shorter.
The Berserkers (what used to be the daily dungeon quest mobs) aoe fear, but they are undead, stunnable, and it has a short casting time. It has a respectable range.
I have had them fear into the last big pack before the boss and then feared into the abomination. The abomination is clearly there just for poor sods that get feared. Getting feared by the last trio into the King just sucks.
They do random cast the spell, so they can chain fear. But seriously, just stun/kill them.
Pinnacle has fear, the undead melee's before the King,
Best way to deal with this is to stagger tremors so they remove fear every 1 second or less.
i dont usually have a problem with these but i tend to target melee first, usually 2 per pack. stun one, nuke the other.

Math:
If you pull 1 pack with 2 mobs that fear, you don't get a lot of fears. If you pull 2-3 packs at a time with up to 6 mobs that fear you get feared a lot. Makes sense?
I don't think they would change something like that if you look at all the nerfs to the Heroics they did.
I beleive the berserkers in UP use a "horror" effect, not fear - so tremors don't work.
ANd ya, I've ya that fear throw my toons three rooms away... bloody aweful.
Yeah i will find out next time I run it. Just to be straight I run a 5k+ GS crew and have consitantly for months pulled 6 to 12 mobs at a time in Heroics and just AOEd them down. This is why I was so surprised when this group of 3 just kept rolling me over and over again.

I don't have any stuns.
I pull the beserkes way outside of that room so if they do manage to get a fear off I dont pick up any extra mobs. That said, if you face them away from group they wont fear your guys =P
Concerning fears & tremor totems... can they still be staggered? I thought that was changed a few patches ago that they'll pulse at the same time no matter when you drop it (I think it was related to PvP/Arena nerf). Was that a PTR thing that didn't get implemented? I'll want to add a staggered tremor macro if it still works.Quote:

BUT I am always careful with mobs that I know can fear me and so I do as stated above and pull them into the next room so that I do not get feared into extra mobs. This takes a couple of minutes longer but better than a wipe :)
I hate all of you non-bear tank groups for how easy you have it in UP.

Huh? What is the disadvantage of being a Bear? I do not use exorcism in there hardly at all due to how fast thos mobs die?
What other advantage does a pally have?
