Team Pestilence (Set-Up and Play)

Basic Set Up

All my other toons are alliance (Cenarius US). I've decided to level a group of warlocks. Actually went with 1x Disc Priest + 4x Affliction Warlocks, with the goal of dominating as a 5-man unit in battlegrounds. Going with the opposite faction, to both experience the content and lore from the other faction's point of view, and to somewhat alleviate the pain of 1st to 80th without RAF by taking my time and smelling the flowers, etc.

I created the team, 5x Blood Elves. Had to use an ascii character " à " (alt + 133), to get the names I wanted: Ebolà, Malarià, Cholerà, Anthràx, and Diphtherià. I decided on Anthràx for the priest, as she is the odd one out; the others are the most deadly diseases of the last 100 years, while Anthràx is a biological agent, not a disease. With the roommates help (10 accounts between us), also created the guild Pestilence; it's not often the first choice in names is available.

I created two horde DK's, ran one to Orgrimmar to be my auction mule, and ran the other to Gadgetzan to fascillitate transfers. Have to love, already having all the flightpaths for the old world. I bought 500g worth of infinite dust on the alliance AH, and transferred this over to the horde side; it was worth 1.5x as much there. Since then, I've been buying stacks of dust on Sunday (25-30 stacks, roughly 20g per stack), and listing as singles (at 2g each) which sell off completely by Saturday. Slow, but steady; not sure I'll have 25k by 80th, but will probably have every other mount by the time I'm high enough to use each.

I also transferred 20-slot Frostweave Bags to each toon, and a 28 slot Soulshard Bag to each warlock.

Software Set Up

I'm using IS Boxer as my broadcasting software. This is how I've set it up:

Character Set (Black Team, 5 Slots)

I've been following the Joana/Mancow speed leveling guide.
So, they are based out of Silvermoon City, and currently in the Ghostlands.



Session 1.
Configuration of hotkeys and IS Boxer.
Guilded the toons.
Twinked them with bags and 20 gold each.
No actual leveling, on this session.

Session 2.
Played from 1st level to 12th level.
Most of my action bars are empty, mainly using the "click" macros (with temporary macros in place) for killing things.
Played with 4x Imps, and the Priest actively DPSing.

Session 3.
Played from 12th level to 18th level, but the server came down interrupting my session.
Did the Voidwalker quest, and Diphtherià now summons the Blueberry; that made the two elite "undead guard" type mobs very easy to kill. Did the level 20 at 17th level and the level 21 at 18th level.
Very much contemplating WSG, for next session. Might pvp exclusively, from x7th until x0th levels.

How is this working out for you?

G3 (Fear Recovery).
-- Step 1: Send IWT (on key down) to all client

I tried doing this two step but the down arrow would only pause them before they continued on. I am manually backing them up which adds more logistics......

Last week I redid all my bindings and removed all Shift "letter" I often forget to turn off keymap when chatting the less keys that pass when I chat the more I like it. I changed all the modifiers to Control.
I like your setup I actually started leveling an AOE group myself I have one mage in my group. I love the names very nice.

Have not tested that in live play.

Have had it as a two step mapped key for quite some time.
But have not experimented with "while held" in conjunction with up/down advancement to the next step.

It looks like it will work.
And it will get you a decent level of control over the movement.

I tried toggling "while held". The key up to run the second step (back) did not work when I tried it. If you have success with it I would appreciate if you would post the keymap for your IWT.

Nice setup in names! I would love an all lock team, but I just cant be asked to level anymore. We hates it!

Awesome have you ever thought about listing this for your mixed team also? It would help a lot of us beginiers out. I am moving from a 1 pally 4 x ele shammy (1 dual resto for harder heroics) but am thinking about

Good luck, I RAF'd a lock team to 60 and parked them, holy preist in my case for CoH. The play seemed a lot slower than the other teams I was building so I lost interest. That and the pet quests were annoying to me. It felt like a huge investment of time running all over the place for pet quests. Sure 4 or 5 fel gaurds is fun, but so is 4 or 5 monekys! (bummed all tank pets got thunderstomp)

Without RAF the speed diiff might not be as noticable?

Since this is a fairly new team, I decided to list what I'm starting with.
Well, its been tweaked a couple of times already, but I'm fairly happy with what I have.

I'm also running...
a) Prot Paladin + 4x Elem. Shaman.
b) Feral Bear + Disc Priest + Frost Mage + Destro Warlock + Elem. Shaman.
c) Balance/Feral + Balance/Resto + 3x Balance.

Once the mixed team is caught up to the Pally/Shammy team, as far as phased Icecrown content.
I'm planning on trading a shammy to (b) for the warlock.
A 2nd set of totems on (b) and the 13% spell power on (a) will both be nice.
(b) is more of an extra team for dailies, and a change of pace.
(a) is my PvE progression set.

A write up is a several hours.
I did the warlocks, during the last patch.

Your not going to need half that shit for pvp, its only going to confuse you but to each his own.

I'm bouncing between Druids and Warlock/Priest teams...
Trying to go with whichever has more rested.

But ran errands yesterday, didn't wow at all.
And have to do a bit of work on my d&d adventure, as we'll be playing Sat (after our holiday break).

It is the warlock's turn, and they're 18th...

You will have alot of fun and you will learn that you will use your priest 95% of the time casting dmg spells or nova(once higher) because people in the BGs generally suck.

It might be worthwhile to build two click sequences then.
One with the priest + warlocks dps'ing.
And one with only the locks, so I can heal with the priest.

Mixed results from a few WSG's.

Trying to win the BG, and running the flag is pointless when you have ***hats flag your toons as AFK.
So my new strategy will be **** the rest of the field, stand in the middle and farm honor.
Which should keep me in combat, and be immune to ******** who want to AFK flag me.

In a way, that will be an okay approach; a lot less pressure, when you don't care if you win or not.
I'd rather try to win, but it seems they'd rather harass me then try to win.

Sounds like you need to find another five boxer that PVPs and both of you join WSG together to eliminate the ****hats. Alternatively, can't you also report them as AFK? Five of you reporting him? :)

You don't know who is reporting you as afk.
I suppose I could just report everyone else on my team...
But I'd rather play, then deal with that crap.

Running with another boxer would be fun.
I'm not sure my composition is the best, at least in 10-19's, for WSG.
I can apply dots sufficient to kill groups, before I die, but cannot prevent toons from dying.
So the team is split up.
If the priest survived, or was Soul Stoned, I can recover...
But am AFK flagged very quickly (in all 7 games I played), if a toon stands at the Graveyard as the rest battle, or if I take the time to rez my falled toons.

New WSG strategy.
Play defense, play near my graveyard.
Will try Asonimie's strategy, of positioning between my own tunnel and my own ramp.
That is pretty close range to the graveyard, so dead toons should get back into play quickly.
And as long as the other side tries to win, there will be frequent combat to prevent being AFK flagged.
If they don't try to win, can advance a bit to where they are, and play defensively to not die/be separated.

Warlocks/Priest is not the best composition for flag running...
Even had two toons flagged as AFK, who were escorting my flag carrier.
Which is plain bull shit.

But, if that's the way the game is played...
I'll stop trying to capture the flag, and leave that to the other 5 on my team.
And play defense, where I can be in combat frequently and be immune to the AFK flagging.

Any update's on your adventures ualaa? I subscribed to this thread as i have a locks team myself and your info is usually spot on. Was curious how if you are still so enthusiastic about your locks.

Honestly, have not touched them since the first foray into PvP.
I believe they're sitting at level 22 x5.

It is not anything against the team, or pvp in general.
But I have a team of druids, which is very fun as well.
The druids have leveled from 60th to 67th x5, since my last post in this thread.
And both teams want to level.

The lions share of my time has been dailies with two teams, for gold for epic flyers on these two teams.
And to run as many heroics as I can, in a semi geared team (for badges to get heirloom 10% experience items).
The pally on the team, has a mix of Ulduar 25 (BoE's), a couple of ToC 25, ICC 10 BoE's and the rest crafted 200 or heroic (one-boxed) drops.
The rest of the team is in pretty crappy iLV 174, 187, 200 gear.

I don't really enjoy heroics while playing all of the classes.
But want 100 odd badges more then I have... will probably have stonekeeper shards for shoulders, at about the time I have badges for chest x2 and shoulders x1.

So its been relatively slow.... 8 to 10 badges a night.
After 2 to 2.5 hours of dailies.
I've also been watching a lot of downloaded movies.

The team is quite fun, although at lower levels the priest is out of mana way too quickly.
I'd imagine as I get more gear/talents, Disc will become more mana efficient.
It is hard for my PvE priest (also Disc) to run out of mana.

So it's safe to say that you've spent more time setting up the toons than you actually played them :P And yeah i think that's an issue for most boxer having multiple teams ... so many things to do for one team already; not to mention different teams. I play my team of locks only in BG's now and then to take a break from my main team. I've realized that focussing on more than one team at a time ain't possible for me.
