You can kind of see this with Gearscore. It will show ratings for the whole party. It is completely inaccurate in some cases though.
It wont help in his case since his toons are only in their 30s but from the looks of it they seem very well geared.Quote:

they are for the most part ive only run dungeons thus far and i only use the blues to keep the boys all the same as i can farm them for all toonsQuote:

But I think im gonna quest a while and start using the Q rewards plus green drops and i can see that they are already well seperated in gear standards and ive only got like 3 pieces that are diff per toon

Can be misleading sometimes if you aren't paying attention. If you could order the Ratingbuster stats by priority it might be better.

im confused as to how GearScore is innacurate, and if you are using it for your own team, skill is not an issue, neither is PvP gear abuse.. so uh, yes this is the easiest and best use of the mod.
get Gearscore, it works for all levels of gear and you can still tell the difference between a 400 GS and a 320 GS right? It showed me my GS all the way to 80 just fine.
Its about deciding whether a piece of gear is an upgrade or not. Some pieces of gear got a high GS but they were a lot worse than what I was actually wearing and specced for, ie healing plate for a prot paladin.Quote:

So before you say "innaccurate", you may want to fully understand what an addon is doing prior to commenting on it. The mod works exactly how it was designed - to compare item levels. It doesn't check stats (nor is it meant too)

I use BIMBO and (sometimes) Gearscore. Bimbo will highlight character slots in the paperdoll page to show you items that need to be inchanted / gemmed / whatever (upgraded). And the gearscore ML option is a loose guide I use to see who needs the item the most - but its just "at a glance" - if I see an potential upgrade, I check and compare the stats prior to looting.
Gearscore is also really nice in "gear up" raids as a raid leader, because I can see everyone present and who the peice will benefit the most, and make a recommendation based on that. (I don't force anyone to do anything)
Leveling I don't worry about it, I just gear them all identically from quest drops and dungeon drops, whoever is lowest on the meters gets the upgrades.
Once I hit 80 I have a shopping list made... so I know what items I want from what dungeons before I move on to doing heroics... then it's just a matter of does the character have the item or not... doing a little legwork up front ensures you dont screw up in the dungeon.
Now add to this the fact that you can trade loot after drop now it's really hard to screw up.
While leveling I just look at item level. lol
Caster stats? Check.
Item level higher than what I'm wearing? Check.
Upgrade!

How does GearScore Work?
- Whenever you mouseover a player in the game GearScore will scan that player's gear and calculate a score. The scores are based on how blizzard assigns stats to an item and take in account ilevel, rarity, and equipment slot location. Scores scale smoothly as player's level up and obtain new items.
- Everyone who uses the mod shares information about the scores they scan allowing you to search for player's you've never even seen before.
What are GearScore's features?
- Instant Score Calculation - Scores are calculated instantly whenever you mouse over any player in the game as long as they are within inspect range.
- In-Game Armory - Allows you to view any player in your database's equipment and GearScore
- Database - Scores are remembered so that the next time you see a player you will know their score, even if they are in a completely different zone. The database feature also allows you to manually look up a player anytime you want 1000 faster then the armory.
- Communication - Whenever you scan a GearScore of a player you also share that score with everyone in your party or raid and everyone in your guild. This is very similar to how Gatherer works in sharing resource nodes.
- Average iLevel - With this feature you can also see the average item level of a player. This is perfect for such things as Ulduar vehicle assignment and upcoming changes to drakes in 3.2
- Master Loot Upgrade Mode - This mode is an excellent way to assist your raid in increasing their overall level of gear as quick as possible. Whenever you mouse over an item the tooltip will show how much of an upgrade in GearScore that item is for each person in your raid that can equip that item. Prefect for loot-council type raiding guilds and also excellent for leveling characters in helping to choose which item to pick from quest rewards.
- Reporting - GearScore also allows you to post the GearScores of player's in your raid/party into chat. GearScore even has integration with Recount to allow you to see a graphical representation of your raid's GearScores.
How does GearScore compare to 'ratings' websites?
- I started working on GearScore before I even knew of WoW-heroes or IMBA. I'm not sure how IMBA calculates its scores but WoW-Heroes scores are always about 1/2 of GearScore's scores. Many people ask me to simply use the same formula these websites do. There are a few problems with that. The first is I don't wish to steal a formula from a website and brand it as inline with their scores. Those sites make $$ from advertisers and if I steal their work I'm also stealing their money. Another problem with this is that the armory gives these websites more information then my mod, therefore they are able to take into account additional factors when calculating scores.

- I agree completely. However many players like to PUG. When you pug your forced to invite people you don't know. A really sucky player with high GearScore will do more dps then a really sucky player with low GearScore. PUGs dont have time for guild-type interviews each time they invite a player to their raid. PUGs usually have no idea of the skill a player has. So PUGs are forced to use the only factor they know, your quality of Gear. If you don't like this style of gaming I recommend joining a guild where nobody cares what your GearScore is.
- That being said, GearScore 3.x has new features that allow players to make smarter choices instead of simply dismissing you if your not at a bare minimum. The color chart for instances is colored from red to green to represent the difficulty a player might have in a particular instance. The in-game-armory function lets you see if a person's GearScore is low because perhaps they are in PvP gear or wearing a Lance and overall helps you make a more informed decision.
So what am i missing?
I use my eyes and my brain - best mods ever.
Seriously though, I just do a quick visual inspection of the stats and what my toons are wearing. Neediest toon gets the item or it gets sharded.

Although it does give me different scores sometimes, it would look like an upgrade for a slave when viewed on the main and I would give it to the slave only for the slave to see the item as a downgrade or equal. Perhaps this is due to the main's DB being out of date.

I find it funny, when people require a 4k gear score to run heroics.
But then I don't have to face that shit, when I'm playing a team.
The LFG tool isn't a problem with 5 mans. Its the raids.
Equipcompare with Ratingbuster will compare the item stats in the tooltip window with what you're wearing.
Pawn will calculate a score based on the relative stat values you put in. Similar to the scoring system used by Lootrank/Guildox and Wowhead. You need to figure out how to weight your stats or pull the info from the internet.
About the Random Dungeon finder
I'm not running heroics yet I'm just now lvl 41
Last night i qued my hunters and got pallys from other servers not only did they not wanna kick me they loved it i tanked healed and dpsed while they looted they could hardly believe it
We ran SM cath x2 SM Arm x3 RFD x1 Uldaman x1 all in like 2hours
they were sad to see me go

some things just cant be left to a mod I'm doin it the right way just compare the new piece to all my guys gear and make the choice my self
It is funny, everyone here hates Gearscore the way that people on our server "Tichondrius" Hates Wow-Heroes. Everyone announces "So and So raid 2700+ Wow Heroes Score or no reply". It has completely ruined raiding on our server.

I'm glad you had some success with the LFG tool, and I'm happy you decided to forget about the gear check addons. I really think they are causing more hurt than help. I mean right clicking on someone and checking their gear may take a bit longer to eyeball, but being so damned dependant on addons to find a party is sort of depressing.Quote:
