I am starting to get bored with WoW. Patch 3.3 hasn't changed my mind at all.
Any ideas on a new character to play/new game to play?
Christmas is coming up, and i have been asked what i want several times, any ideas on that aswell?

You can always do what I do, and play xbox/ps3 for a month or so.
Thinking about asking for a Netbook, or a PS3, which games are good for PS3?
WoW is boring. It gets interesting sometimes when you have good goals. But my play time varies and I often will let my sub lapse for a couple months depending on what other things I have going on. You didn't really say crap about what you like other than "WoW but not WoW today" so I have no clue what to recommend to you. Games are very preference-driven.
I wanna rent Dragon age Origins for the PS3. It got like an 8.5 rating from IGN. Plus it is from the same guys who made Baldur's Gate. It seems very multi-boxer friendly.

I quit a couple of weeks ago. Don't regret it at all. :)
It's amazing the amount of time that is freed up when you are not wasting time on repetitive badge grinds. (I was gearing up 6 teams so it got really boring, really fast weeks ago when I hit a dead end in upgrades unless I began to raid) Also there are a ton of games out now so quit, and try those out. Wow will always be there if you decide to go back. What types of game do you like? There are a few gold/compilation/rerelease/game of the year edition of games that is out now or has been out for a while. Since I stopped playing wow, I've had time to dabble in the following:
RPG - Fallout 3 game of the year edition (modded out to the gills, I played it before and it was alright, but with all the mods you can add to customize this game it's like a new game almost), trying witcher enhanced edition director's cut, Dragon Age Origins
Strategy - King's bounty: Armored Princess (if you liked the heroes of might and magic series, you'll probably like this)
FPS - Borderlands (think diablo 2 but in first person shooter mode, post apocalypse mad max type setting. also multiplayer), moder warfare 2, and left 4 dead 2 (except I spent $60 on this silly game only to have it not work in my setup. Waited for 5 days for a reply from steam/valve tech support only to have them say "your setup looks fine. nothing wrong on your end. known issue. wait for developer to patch it. no known eta. thanks for playing. bye." This was about 2 weeks ago. ><
Random type - Force Unleashed sith edition
Adventure - Tales of monkey island (final episode is out now)
Console - Soul Calibur 4 (used is on sale now for like less than $30. I just like it because of the expanded create your own fighter option. People have done some pretty good recreations of characters like various star wars character, comic book heroes, jesus, obama, ronald mcdonald, napolean dynamite, etc. it can be kind of funny)
But yeah. Like I said; it's amazing the amount of free time that opens up when you are not playing wow like a job. :p (I might have gone overboard with the 6 teams that I was badge farming for, not counting the other assorted 80 toons that were being spoon fed BoE epics and craftables.)
anyways, good luck to you whichever way you go. Just my personal experience with quitting wow (also it's a small thing. but the change in authenticator login kind of tipped me over the edge because I was already bored with the game. having to wait 10-15 seconds between each account logon is annoying as hell to me)
DAO is a great game- get it for the PC you can use the tool kit to edit anything you want and there are dozens of mods out for it now.
Alot of really cool shooters are out atm for the consoles.
Thanks for all of the responses guys, and i like MMO's basically, thats a hard one to top WoW with imo.
WoW is just starting to get tedious, i keep thinking, which character should i log on next, and that is not a good sign in my opinion, might try out Aion, but im not sure i like the graphics, does anyone have a screenie on hand?
I'm not sure about the Netbook though. I'm not sure i'd be able to box any good game, let alone run it.
I can't really comment on combat, I'm playing Godmode on easy, but the story is great, the voice acting is amazing {I love Claudia Black...I want to keep her in a little box under my bed and pet her and feed her cakes!} the interactions are fun and engaging and the graphics look really nice.
The only problem I have with the game is the female characters all walk like John Wayne.
Oh yeah! Claudia Black! I've been watching Farscape onDemand via Netflix. It's all about the Claudia Black! I'm probably gonna have to start watching Stargate SG1 now.

Not really. It involves setting up "tactics". It's more akin to setting up a team of bots than multiboxing.
Fight a bear, that always gets me rilled up for some wow.
GL and have fun with whatever you do!
I know how you feel. I've been getting a bit bored with the gear grind in WoW lately. I'm just working on a few reps. But I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep going with just a gear grind to look forward to.
As for other games, Little Big Planet for the PS3 has been pretty fun. haha
Go to your local costume shop or salvation army thrift store. Get your booze of choice, get 2-3 friends over and play Rock Band all night. Make sure you crank it to 11.
I like Dragon Age for the PC, but it didn't really grab me to play it all the way through (load page much?). I got Modern Warfare 2 at the same time and while it does give you that in the movie feel the single player option is over in about 5 hours (way too short) and the replay value in single player even on harder modes just isnt there since you know where all the targets are going to spring up.
I love Forza 3 for xbox, but you have to be a semi gear head to get kicks out of that game.
Aion looks kinda like a lot of other NCSoft games of the last few years... interesting but missing something that will make them last.
Assassin's Creed 2 looks better than the first, but I have yet to play it.
I think a fair number of people are burned out with WoW, I know I am, I have quit a couple times before for 6 month breaks generally in spring. The new T10 gear looks nice, and it would be great to get those patterns and top gear on my main team, but do I have the stomach to really grind out a crap ton of Frost emblems? Not really, I think ilvl 232 with 245 chest and bracers onmy main team will be good enough. The alt teams will be lucky to get a bunch of ilvl 219 and some badge gear.
The only problem I see is, unless your a skier or live in a nice warm climate winter can make fun outside stuff a bit tough. Most games nowdays just don't hold my attention due to annoying aspects or insane load times.
Maybe Tiger Woods will come out with a new game for the Wii that has XXX themes! :P
I read this somewhere on the net, quoting ...
'My porn addiction is cured thanks to WoW. For those with a WoW addiction i can only recommend porn'.
I would agree that Dragon Age is an excellent game. I took the time before 3.3 to play through and beat it for the PC. I would also say get the game for PC over any of the consoles. That being said there are some excellent PS3 games out.
Killzone 2 (FPS)
Infamous (Third person action)
Modern Warfare 2 (FPS)
I have enjoyed/enjoy those three games tremendously. Also I have heard nothing but good things about Uncharted 2: Drakes Fortune, but I have not played it myself.
If you're bored, stop playing.
It sounds snarky but it's not.
Doesn't get any simpler than that.
I've been waiting on Star Trek Online if that piques your interest.
I haven't seen a really worthwhile Star Trek game since Super Star Trek.
I liked Birth of the Federation.
The graphics were attrocious, and it was an offline one-player game.
Well could play online through the microsoft zone or something similar.. but never had anyone connected there.
But as far as the game went, it was decent.
All about building up the infrastructure for your race.
You could play Cardassian, Federation, Ferengi, Klingon or Romulan.
Each had technology trees which opened assorted buildings or ships.
And followed the assorted star trek shows, as far as what each had.
Federation would start off with Constellation class ships (original Enterprise) and work up to Defiant Class Cruisers and Sovereign Command Ships (the Enterprise Riker was Captain of, in the episode where Picard is going through time with Q and is an old and possibly senile man in).
Neat game.
