Excellent, pally is by far the easiest for macroing and tanking. Mages have super dps and shaman is perfect to get in that heroism/bloodlust with the totem support. Personally if I had to do it all over I would do 3 warlocks instead. My lock really shines compared to my mage.
Pally should be pretty easy to macro/tank with.
Mash your 96969 macro.
Just need to worry about facing/positioning.
You can either Kings the mages and go with a Mana Spring/Mana Tide on the shaman.
Or Wisdom the mages, and go with Healing Stream for passive heals on the shaman.
Chances are, the mages will be parked with the shaman.
So Chain heal will be fine for healing through AoE crap.
And you can Healing Wave or L.HW the pally, or Riptide too.
You have good stacking dps from the mages.
CC is you ever need it, but have not needed it in WotLK yet.
Shammies are excellent boxed healers.
Totems are nice buffs, Bloodlust/Heroism is nice too.
Two rezzers on the team.
And the shaman can Ankh for wipe recovery.
Or the pally can Divine Intervention the shaman too.
Well i know with blood lust my mage in ~t8 gear pulled 6.9k dps before the arcane buff in 3.2.2 thats one of them... So i'd assume that sort of DPS would be fine.Quote:

Just wondering what people thought overall as a decent heroics team. I'd have 4 mages done. Also if two mages were geared out the butt you could help a friend gear up or w/e pretty easily.
My vote for "best" team would be:
Prot Paladin tank.
Disc Priest healer.
1x Destruction Warlock.
2x Elemental Shaman.
But your team will work; it covers everything you need.
Heals, Tanking and DPS.
Well anything with pally+shammy is win.
Pally+shammy+whateverx3 = WIN
5xshammys = WoW on easy mode.
Try a mixed team without a paladin and shaman.
while it's true the shamans are op, skill accounts for the majority of one's success - not which toons you chose.
Take Maxion for example - he cleared HToC 1 day after dinging 80, and got something like 20+ heroic acheivements over the next 3 days .... what a jerk! (just kidding max :p where's my hidef HToC video?? :) )
I love theorycrafting, but it hasn't actually helped me much ... the sad truth for me is that I just need to get better (more practice, less theorycrafting). There's guys here that are doing things (like Kromotor @ 2200+ rating by himself) that continue to amaze and motivate me. You can rock pretty much any comp you come up with (as long as it has a shamn in it :p).
I'm not really a fan of other tank classes really, and shammys are pretty bread and butter... I wouldn't really be comfortable healing on anything other than a shammy or disc priest.Quote:

And you think he could have done this with any group composition? Skill is a large part of it but some classes are just not viable. What people achieved with Shaman in BC versus the change in dynamic in WotLK clearly shows that skill alone does not make any class combination viable.Quote:

My mixed team has a Feral bear as the tank.
And a Disc priest as the healer.
But there's a shammy in the dps.
Frost Mage, Elemental Shaman, Destruction Warlock.
I'm going to level 5x Druids.. eventually.
They're sitting at 60th.
PvP - battleground focus.
I'll probably do heroics, with a bear and tree.
For the 210 badges, for 5 piece PvP set.
I doubt the last team will be able to do heroics.
4x Warlocks + 1x Disc Priest.
I suppose it really depends on how tough you can make a Blueberry or Felguard.
This team is envisioned as a PvP battleground squad too, but opposite faction on the same server as the druids.
If you can dps well enough with arcane mages go for it, personlly hate watching for MB procs, when ice is one button. Anyhow yeah pally tank and sham can pretty much fit anything for 3dps slots for both melee and caster grps.
You can go straight Arcane Blast, and ignore the proc for Barrage/Missiles.
Or go with a proc watch addon, and try to manage the proc for each with a stopcasting/cast special button for each.
I cannot say I'd pick Paladin + Shaman + 3x Mages.
But I can see them doing pretty much all content.
Paladin + 4x Shaman = Faceroll across keyboard. Seriously, if you're not clearing everything out there, you're doing something wrong.
I prefer Paladin + 3x Shaman + Boomkin/Warlock for the 13% dmg buff. Mages provide free water and transportation, which is nice. (Arcane is a simple castsequence too, no crazy macros needed)
That said, after years of playing a Paladin tank, I'm getting rather bored of him. Combat is extremely static. (hence the faceroll comment).
I currently roll Prot pally, Disc priest, 3x Arcane Mage. I don't see any need for a shaman in my group honestly. Ya heroism puts me at well over 8k DPS on tank and spanks but priests are way superior healers and work very well with mages plus fort / spirt is nice.
I do occasionally sub out a character for my druid. he's geared enough to run any spec and the 13% spell dmg is nice.
Honestly I think arcane mages in heroics are a little too good though. I don't know that there is another class that can keep up in DPS with an arcane mage in heroics.
I'm currently running a team very similar to this, Pally/Mage/Mage/Rogue/Shaman. I'm having a blast going through dungeons and can't wait to hit 80 to start blasting through heroics. I currently do most fights with a 3 keys... one key for my DPS rotation on the tank + 3 dps, and two keys (one per mage) for missile barrage procs.
As for when to use the missile barrage it's absurdly easy to manage...

As for buffs, I run Blessing of Sact on the pally, Wis on the mages and shaman, might on the rogue... I use kings drums, fort scrolls and mark drums...
For starting out that will be necessary. Last time i checked EJ when i played my arcane mage (my main) before the 3.2.2 patch it was more benificial to just do 3x ab > missles depending on your mana pool. It did slightly more dps. With the changes to AB and missle barrage you should be looking at more DPS without needing to use ABB if your mana pool is high enough to support it, considering the length of most heroic fights this is a good idea. I know overall mana efficiency for arcane mages went up in 3.2.2 so i don't see why this wouldn't be the case either. As long as you know to to the following.Quote:

This SHOULD provide for the most mana efficiency with your mana regeneration options, if you have a shaman in the group for mana spring or mana tide as well in group there should be no problems whatsoever, even raiding.
