I have a Pally tank , Priest healer
and 3 ranged dps .
My q is . they are on follow on tank . But ranged should be able to stay a bit behind . Now they stay on tank .. my healer aswell .
How can i let's them stay behind to dps ?

Just tap your forward or back key to get them to drop follow. After you kill it just hit your follow button to have start to follow again.
Hit your follow key, when you want to move the team.
And break your follow when they're in a good position.
Quite often, I just leave follow on and don't care about it.
But anything more challenging, like say a heroic boss, you might prefer to position them somewhat.

3 thoughts. One: Break follow with your pallies attack (like put a movement key for your alts tied to your pally's pull key)
Two: Have a movement for your whole team, your main only and your alts only. For me, WASD is main only, arrow keys are everyone and I use 2 keys from my Logitech G15 G-keys for my alts only.
Three: Stagger follows, have your healer follow your main, and then have your DPS follow your healer. It puts them an extra 5 or so yards back. This is what I did back in the day when hunters had to far away to attack.
You can use Jamba to do the follow after combat so you don't have to worry about it.

When I run up to a mob (not a boss), all I have to do is hit the q key, and they all stop in place. I drop them off like that all the time, I don't even think about it anymore.
I don't start boss fights with it, but if I need to reposition, I use it.
I also split the /follow and /assist commands - /follow is on a key (f), and I put /assist focus in the slaves macros. That way, if I drop them off, and hit the attack key (1), they will rotate towards the mob. If they don't rotate, then I'll hit F and the q quickly afterwards, which positions them.

You have some way to broadcast keys.
So your pally can spam their 96969 macro.
Your priest can heal the team as needed.
And your dps can do their pew-pew-pew.
If you're using something like Keyclone, have keys on a blacklist which are not passed to the slaves.
But then unbind other keys on the main (in warcraft) so you can move the slaves without moving the main.
If you're using InnerSpace, have repeater off (default), and don't bind WASDQE to any Keymaps.
So pressing these don't broadcast, because they're not in a Keymap.
Then make keymaps for the Arrow Keys, which broadcast to all windows without the current.
That does the same (entirely within the software instead of software + wow), where you can move the active toon or the slaves without moving the other.
Hardware boxing would be similar to Keyclone.
Have keys which are bound to the clients on the other systems, but not to the main.
So you can press down arrow, which does something when broadcast to other systems.
But does nothing on some systems.
Still having a problem . i want to bind a strafe key to avoid some things in hc 's . I copied a dps key from iSboxer . It does break the follow but when i keep it pressed it only breaks follow and stand still nothing more . What am i doing wrong ?

When you click on the name of the key, on the left pane, but have not expanded it to the steps.
Looking to the right pane, we have the hotkey to trigger the Keymap.
One of the options is "Hold any Keystroke Actions while Hotkey is held".
You want to set this option to "On".
I am using jamba with ISBoxer for a 5 man team. I have tried to get my dps and heals to stop following tank in boss fights and cant seem to get it to work. I tried to turn off strobing in combat, unbound movement keys so if i use wasd rather than arrow keys in fight they would stay behind etc... Any thoughts how I can stop slaves from following? Thanks
This thread is 2 years old. You probably would have gotten more responses by now if you'd started a new thread.
Follow strobing won't turn off until your slaves are in combat. If you break movement before engaging in combat, your slaves are only going to start following again because they aren't in combat yet. Or if they drop combat again, they will start following, even if combat isn't actually over.
Use the follow strobe off command in your break movement key {/jamba-follow strobeoff <tag>} or avoid using follow strobing at all when you are going to be repeatedly going into combat. I usually don't use follow strobing for anything but mounted travel.
IMO the best/easiest thing for both of you to do would be to remake your team in isboxer. Don't delete your current one but use the wizard to make a new one and on the last page with the jamba settings make sure you leave them alone (just use what is default. Then in your <general> key map add your dpad (arrow keys) and make them all w/o current (also if you wiped your default wow key ones as most do) make sure to set ur dpad as movement. I also set <shift +q and shift+e as strafe on my slaves as well and made a hot key for v=down arrow (all w/o current) you can try to modify your existing team but if you chose jamba follow strobe on the last page in the wizard I don't know how to disable it, in mine it just turns it right back on that's why I remade the team. Probably wasn't much help but I thought I would throw my experience out there
Thanks for the input. I redid my group as suggested with only default. then regonfigured keys of my slaves to only use keypad for movement so i can go to wasd on tank keeping them back (didn't work). The wrote macros for jamba-follow strobeon (master name) and one for strobeoff (master name) and then boundkeys to this - didn't work either. I am not skilled at the whole key binding and command part of teh game. What am I doing wrong? Appreciate the input. BTW this ISboxer is amazing :)

You should only need the macro {and probably the bindings} on the master.
Stopping follow strobing does not break follow. You still need to use a movement key to break follow after terminating strobing. Are you doing that?
As jstanthr said, you should probably run a fresh setup wizard leave the default settings in ISBoxer for Jamba alone and just make strobing macros in game. Add /jamba-follow strobeonme slave to your Master's follow macro and /jamba-follow strobeoff all to your Master's formation macro or whatever you are using to break follow/spread out your toons.
Thanks, I will try that later tonite. I assume when you say break movement you are referring to changing key bindings for movement. I will set that up as well (i keep arrow keys for movement and remove the wasd keys from all slaves). This may seem fundamental, but the movement macros and formations seems to be the harder part fo the multi-boxing for me so far. Thanks for your help and patience. You shouldn't need to change keybinds. Just create a keymap in ISBoxer or there should be formation keys set up by default IIRC.

Ok I followed the videos and I am making progress. i set up a formation, I cannot find a way even with key binds to get them to Stop following? I'll keep messing with it - I think im close - ty
There isn't a way to disable follow, aside from a movement key.
A minute turn to the left or right, forward or backwards movement or strafing will break follow because you have initiated a new movement of your own.
Since your lead is not following anyone, and of the slave only movement keys will break follow.
Create a mapped key, any hotkey to activate it.
Have it send W (forward) to Target: Window (All) Without Current.
I usually use my spread out key to break follow, which is the same deal.
There is the Jamba Strobe, and you can enable/disable that.
But you'd still have to break follow normally, once Strobe was turned off.
I got it - one problem solved! Thanks a bunch - i really appreciate the community so far and the willingness to help out a new guy. I am sure I'll have more questions in time. :)
