Leveling teams without RAF

I have a few weeks with loads of time in it comming up and I`m thinking of leveling a few new teams. However I currently have 8 accounts bound to my battlenet so I cannot add anymore.
If I add 2 more accounts in a seperate battlenet can I transfer characters between the 2 battlenets? If so I guess only after 60days of the creation date of the new battlenet account.

Since this would cost me tons of cash again and I`m still a poor student :) I`m wondering if anyone has any numbers on boosting teams without RAF. Would it just be 3times slower then RAF or is it even worse (maybe different group bonus or something).

I have 2x lvl80 prot paladin and a lvl80 dk to boost a team each so I can could keep boosting nonstop without instance lockouts. Bad part of this is that I get 5 max of each class. Sucks when I want to try something like 5 druids or 5 mages.

Anyone had any experience boosting outside RAF and with the battlenet transfers?

Since RAF works "only" from level 1-60 consider if it is worth it cash-wise for you.

Arguably yes the 35-50 bracket is tedious, but hey once you hit Outlands it is smooth sailing :).

Since I live in Denmark I have never used RAF (since it is against some pyramid scheme law we have).
What I have done in the past is to level more teams simultaneously and take advantage of rest XP, one team rest up while I grind with the other that is at max rest xp, then swap when rest is out, rinse and repeat.

I had the same idea with the resting xp. And then take like 6 teams maybe. But do you have any info on time? How long you took to 1-60? 60-80 is np, I like doing the outlands and the cash income is great.

However right now I am levelling a new team up, they have reached Outlands with full rest xp and yesterday with very casual playing and AH visits I got 3.2 levels. I bet if you really put an effort into it you can do 5.

If I level them fully on rested after lvl10.

I boost 4 each time with a a level 80 in instances. I use the 10% xp heirbloom from WG.

Then I would play at 210%. That is still doable. Bad part is that I need to quit boosting a lot to gain more rested each time.

Get the heirloom chest for an extra 10%

Recruit a Friend gets you triple experience (or 200% extra, since everyone gets 100%), for quests and kills from levels 1 through 60th. Ignoring the granted levels or cascade granted levels, that is roughly 1/3rd the time from 1st to 60th. Even with RAF, you only receive normal experience as far as exploration goes.

Boosting will still be the best method to level. If boosting was better then questing with 3x the instance exp's vs 3x the quest exp's, then 1x both type's of exp's will still favor boosting.

The heirloom shoulders and heirloom chest will help out quite a bit.

Many people have managed to level teams, without RAF or prior to RAF being offered. It is doable if you want, and financially speaking that's probably the best route to take. It is a question of value of time versus cost of accounts/transfers.

Honestly, I'd personally bite the buck so to speak. Since you already have 8 accounts. You can RAF from say A and B, which will get your four accounts with faster leveling speed. If you care about the mounts, pay for the new accounts with game cards. If you're going for the best bang for buck, just pay for one month each on the new accounts, which credit the existing accounts with a month of play time, for a net break even. You'll still be out the price of two accounts (classic or battlechests if you want Draenei/Blood Elves), and the price of transfers.

Even if its 60 days after forming a B.Net account for transfers, you can wait that time easily. If you want to focus on your new team(s), then just pay the subscription for the two new accounts, two existing accounts and whichever account as the 5th toon for those teams. Once the 60 days is done, you can throw the accounts away, after the transfer.

For me it took 7 days /played without RAF to reach 1-60. Mostly done on rested xp.

Mind you this was my first team, so I have spend alot of time tweaking UI, mods, macros etc.

Never used RAF or boost items so I need to look into that. But, How on earth do you avoid collection quests? Some pop up in the middle of chains, do you just stop there.? I've gotten to the point of where I just do the ones that seem to be 100% drop or ground spawn or less than 5 items.. easy to get done. Some how I always find myself doing them I guess cause I'm afraid of running out of quests for that level. Any thoughts. Thanks

I find that going to the battlegrounds while questing helps to shake things up a bit. I just go so angry in the BGs that I stop playing for a few days, then I'm all better.

In old days (Befor they made it easyer to level) Vanilla Wow (1-60) was capable of leveling in just under 5 days played time with changes I belive that time is now just under 4 (This is with out RAF) so Its doable (RAD makes it easer BUT still can be done in short order but its really up to you.

I have seen people do 1-60 none Raf in under 5 days played time (I have seen RAF done in Over 5 days played time,

So as I said its really how organised and how much you want to put into leveling.

How does that prevent instance lockouts? The toons you are leveling can get locked out no matter who is boosting

I just boosted the last 2 druids (RAF leftovers) at lvl 45 in stratholme from 45->55. They have the BOA shoulders and chest, so i was getting 20% xp bonus. Without any rested xp or RAF bonus, they were getting a level about every 70-75 minutes or so, with my 80 pally doing the undead side in 2 pulls. Without the 2 boa pieces, you would probably level every 1 hour 30 minutes or so .... I would imagine this would be slightly faster in the starter instances.

I agree with 45-55 in Strat.
Then generally go 55-62 in Ramparts.
Underbog is good after that, if you want to continue in instances.

Boosting is the fastest with 3x experience, so it will be the fastest with 1x experience.
However, I generally quest in Outland, after Ramparts for a bit of gear.

I have tried to avoid collection quest but I still do some of them - as I ran out of quests in Terrok forrest at 63? and needed 10% more xp so be able to get to level 64 so I could get the quests in Nagrand. Im still in nagran atm. at lvl 65. I've done a couple of collection quests including "I must have them" which sucked.

Im not doing any instances atm. becasue my macros suck and I would have to setup a click macro system and basicially don't wanna spend the time doing it. So questing and enjoying myself blasting away the stuff is an okey way to lvl for me atm.

I leveled my first team with RAF and now I'm leveling another team without RAF.

I find it very rewarding and fun to level my second team without RAF. The good thing is that now I can do instances without vastly outlevel the instance after killing the first boss. This makes things feel good when you down some instance.
I think I missed lots of fun leveling my first team using RAF.
Also with the BGs giving XP, yo can always go PvP when you get stuck on some level. Once you reach lvl 20 leveling through BGs is a very viable option and you end gaining practically the same XP/hour doing quests or doing BGs, so it's up to you.

With my new boomkins team hiding in a bush and firing Orbital Strikes (Starfire) and Satellite Lazers (Moonfire) oneshoting everything has never been so fun in PvP.

64-68 Sethek Halls (very pleasant surprise, you only have to move alts once to get the full instance xp)

2 Teams being boosted

i just leveled my paladins and it was relly not that hard i used my main ret paladin to boost them

solo played 1-10 x 4
deadmines 10-20 boosting
sm 20-40
zf 40-45
sholomace 45-55
ramparts 55-62
av 62-80

a relly nice thing about boosting in sm and scholomance and ramparts is that you can zone in and just let your alts stay at the zonein thay will get exp no matter were in those instance you kill mobs as thay are so small

oh well in sm arms the last 10 mobs are out of exp ranged but just pull them abit back and that i fixed

You leave them at entrance, you clean first room (big rectangle), you clean 2nd room (small square with fire in the middle), just wait for the bird patrol, kill it there. They get both rooms full xp staying at the entrance.

Then, move them to the exit of the 2nd room (small walk...) and stay there for full xp of full instance.

So, just one movement.

When going back putting pala on autorun, the alts start auto follow when reaching middle of first room (they get there at about the same time).

Just one hint - kill the undead controllers first, the mind controlling totem is awfull. So never pull more than one at a time, I usually do like this, pull, kill it, pull 2nd group, kill it. I end up having the whole room but 0 controllers. More than one is suicide.

Then, the prophets fear but well, it's not that bad. I always kill them first too though and try to avoid "stacking" them in order not to get chain feared. At level 67 if I recall well, each run still gives 11% unrested, unboosted (items) xp. So, if you add 20%+100% rested, it's really good.

This is false. If you know the areas and do quests efficiently, you can get more experience doing quests with RAF. With RAF you outlevel an area questing without having to spend hours going back and forth between the different at-level quest hubs. There are also some quests which give way, WAY too much experience even at 1x. At triple you might run to the next town to give the guy a bag and suddenly get half a level. If you know the game inside and out and are good at planning out your best route, questing is the king. Most people suck at that, however.

EDIT: I wanted to give an example to back up what I'm saying.

Here's a good example to demonstrate the point: The hunt quests in Ashenvale Horde side. You basically find and kill three level 28 animals. If you know where they are using thottbot or some other site/addon you can kill them all in 15 minutes at most. The turn ins will add up to 28,950 experience with RAF! Seriously. It's 1950, 2200, 2450 and 3050 experience for the 4 turn ins that come from just killing 3 monsters, tripled with RAF. You may say that these sorts of quests are rare, but that's why they shine on RAF, because you get an overpowered quest turn in suddenly counting for a lot more. So while I'm not sure that you can always have such an incredible experience load from so little work, I am 100% sure that there are times when questing is absolutely better.
