5 boxing DKs still viable?

A lot has changed for them since Zerocool did his awesome videos. Reading his posts, I am wondering what still works, what doesnt?

I dont think you can do heroics with 5DKs unless you already have the gear, so it depends on your goals. PVP? Sure, I guess they will do alright.

Even tank specced? Used to be doable, bunch of vids... but did 3.1 and 3.2 smash that entirely?

Yeah. Those original vids were based on 5 blood DKs each with blood aura stacking for healing. Can't remember off the top of my head, but was that about 20% healing to entire group of dmg done as well as 5 x blood tap heal which healed the main char for 20% health and each party member for 10% every 30 seconds. The second part you can still achieve, but the removal of the blood/frost/unholy aura basically killed the insane amounts of damage based healing that made the whole thing viable.

I tried to do it but all the anti melee bosses kicked my ass. Now my dk's are sitting at the mail box for the past 4 or 5 months.

Glyphed Rune Tap still works - its nearly a full heal to the whole party every 30 secs.

I haven't PvE'd with my dk team for a while - mostly just pvp these days, but I would imagine you could do some bosses by using round robin taunting to spread the damage out and Rune Tapping every 30 secs.

You would pretty much need to spec everyone in Blood for extra healing from Vampiric Blood / Improved Death Strike / Bloodworms

Ghonosyph has had success with a druid tank and 3 DPS DK's using a Frost / Blood spec - and yes he's running heroics with only 4 toons. :D

pro find. I've shelved these guys for now since my pally just hit the heroic def cap. After heroics get boring (hopefully months away), I'll switch gears back to the DKs.

I have thought about boxing 4 DKs and a Priest and driving with the priest. I know it bucks convention, which is totally cool. I saw a youtube vid of a guy driving with a healer.

Driving with a healer is fun, but add in a little lag and some WOW weirdness and it doesnt work out too well. Sometimes when I tell my guys to attack something they will run THROUGH the target and about 30 yards before turning around and heading back. This is lost dps time and in pvp someone will most likely have died (or lived). It's not something that happens everytime, but its enough to annoy and make me wonder why I run a melee group.

I get all kinds of weirdness when I play my dks. They run like yours do. Sometimes they run a mile before i realize it. I also find clicking and using different windows during combat just seems funky. My mouse jumps to other clients, etc. Doesn't happen at all on my pallies or rogues. just dks.
