FTL no workey...6hrs...

I kid you not I have been at the computer nonstop for 6 hours trying to get FTL to work to have the slaves follow the active window's character.

I have verified all my hidden modifiers are correct, the problem at this moment most likely is an issue with the macro, and most likely not the keybinds.

Note: I have modified the macro numerous times and I have gotten it from nothing happening to just some of the characters working. At the present moment all the characters will follow

One interesting fact:
I added another toon to the group and its a trial, when I press "w" my follow macro, all the characters will follow this new character (morgue).

One of the toons (zuerst) will follow the active character, but no characters follow him.

Thats the functionality I have at this point. I understand FTL, and I am at a loss at this point.

To start with the /target needs to be all one line, and pull the names out of the modifier brackets because target needs a unit name I believe.

Before I get into looking at your macros and trying to debug, may I ask what program you are using? I messed around with FTL for several hours myself with keyclone, and it was just a big mess. The macros were usually too long, most didn't work, and in general it was a pain. It can be done, but I just don't have the time.

I switched to ISBoxer for the automatic, seamless FTL setup (you don't even know it's there, it "just works"). That and instant character switching. I still use keyclone a lot of the time, especially when I run multiple groups (like one in AV, one boosting in an instance), because it's easy. But I'll never try to do a heavy macro-based setup with keyclone again, it's just too much crap to deal with when ISBoxer references it in just one place so you never have to think about it.

Hi, honestly at a first glance your macros and keybindings look ok. (Ok, the macro uses not the 'one-line-approach' but yours should have the same functionality,althoug it has mor chararcters..)

So my guess, why this isn't working would be the following:

1. Maybe shift+w, alt+w, ctrl+w is bound to something other in WoW, so make sure they are realy unbound.
2. Maybe the corresponding keymaps aren't loaded to the right windows in keyclone

..other than that, I have no real clue what it could be.

As for a more FTL-friendly software than keyclone, I would recommend ISBoxer for a real quick ftl-setup, or if you preffer a free solution HKN.

If you (regardingless of the software) eant to make sure that you use the right macros, you might have a look at the upcomming Jamba-0.5 Dev-Version, where A FTL-Helper module is integrated, which creates a button for targeting/assisting in a FTL-Style which you could then call with a /click-command.

Edit: One other thought: as 'w' is normaly used as a movement key and therefor in most setups isn't broadcasted to all toons, are you sure that you aren'T having a keyclone whit/blacklist-problem? -So maybe try another key than w

One thing which might be a typo, but your keymap for the third toon says:

‘Ctrl + Alt + w’ ---> ‘follow.clint’

this isn'T consistend with the other three keymaps, and should be:

‘Ctrl + Alt + w’ ---> ‘follow.morgue’

I think the issue is with the ";" or the lack there of, could this be the problem?

FOUND IT!
although the ";" at the end of each line did help...
the ultimate fix was keybinds...

The problem:
Only some of the slaves were responding to the follow macro.

The hint:
It worked perfectly on a trial account with no keybinds setup except for the follow macro.

The Fix:
My follow macro was bound to "w" on all toons.
I had my 7th "secondary action button" bound to SHIFT+W !!!!
Unbound the 7th "secondary action button" and watched my 10hours worth of effort on a follow macro work seamlessly on all toons.

Why this makes sense:
since my "hidden" keybinds were set to CTRL+SHIFT+W or ALT+SHIFT+W and variations of it, someone was getting confused along the way (whether that be keyclone or wow), and trying to press two buttons at once.
Which leads me to believe its impossible to press two buttons at once, which makes complete sense.

This problem/solution needs to be stickied, I dont want anyone to go thru what I had to, or they will be very upset with the entire dual boxing experience. And/or Keyclone.

My message for Keyclone: If this was made simpler, I would definitely pay to get another license! And the program would easily be worth 20+

Glad you worked it out. It is usually the simple things that are hardest to troubleshoot. Heck I rewired the speaker wires on the right side of a car in high school once and never checked the balance... hehe

I just started using FTL I always did the if this toon is alive targetting. I much prefer FTL but I have not really put it to the test. I will admit a few times I switched targets right at the beginning of the fight and ended up with Lightening Bolts in two directions.

-Honestly, yes this is one of the sleight problems with FTL, luckily for me, i use a more Target-And-Hold-FTL style, where only if the current target is friendly,dead or nonexisting my slaves assist the leader in an FTL-Sytle and when the slave taret is 'harm' and 'nodead' they simply stick to it. This has the drawback, that when I want to change the target of my slaves to the target of the tank I have to press a seperate key, other than my dps-key. But for PVE I realy like the taret-and-hold. Of course for PvP the normal (non-sticky) FTL or a focus-approach might be better.

I would disagree that focus would be the way to go in PVP, thats exactly the reason I switched to FTL lol.
Unless you like a ton of keybinds or keyboards on your desk, FTL is the way to go for PVP.

Multi, same thing could happen when shifting focus to fast as well.
