That is pretty sweet, but can you really do 3k-4k dps without already having gear?

I just looked at your gear and it's true. Only a few pieces are BoP from raids. Theres lots of BoE raid epics and heroics gear. It looks like it's about as geared as you can get without doing raids.
Nice job. My mixed group dps has a hard time breaking 2k dps so I doubt I would be able to get past the gargoyles. You made those boss fights seem really simple though.
On Loatheb did you put something in your macros to target the spores or did you handle it some other way?
This is truly amazing and is something ive been thinking of trying for a while now. I just assumed that 2 tanks would be needed for most stuff in there so I was in the process of leveling a second team to 10 box with. I might take a break from that though and see if I can 5 box anything there.
I have a mage at 60 but I wasnt planning on adding him to the group. Do you think there may be some way to get around the lack of replenishment? Im thinking, flasks, pots. I have a boomkin in my group so innervate is also there although its not gonna restore my whole groups mana.
The other option would be some kind of dodgy dual spec for my pala tank so he can get replenishment. Maybe Ill have a play with the talent calc and see what I can do there :)

This is really quite inspiring.
A definitely a know your enemy video: perfect pulls, movement / placement, and pace.
While the guy isn't in raid gear, he is obviously doing everything by the numbers. When to blow heroism, pets, etc and had no shortage of the right knowledge, even if his toons were semi virgins to the place ... its either [Safety Dance] or wipe.
The fumble with the healer was the best part, I am glad you left it in.
awesome i really liked it. one thing im thinking is he picked plague cause none of the bosses enrage. those fights seemed like they took quite a while. proper respect to smartjelly. i wouldnt have thought it doable :)
Nice 5 manning a 10man raid :D I just got my guys to 80 now thinking of how to get them geared.

I've been finding it hard to get my mage and druid to match the dps of the shaman, which is a shame as they can both bring some really nice (de)buffs to the party. :(Quote:

The totems took care of those; that was my 1st attempt on Loatheb so I had nothing prepared other than reading up on wowwiki. It took me 40 minutes to get passed the trash before him, so I was very relieved.Quote:

A few weeks ago I tried this with 4 shaman and almost (15%) got him (once), but I had to tank the adds close to the team so the AoE damage would trigger water shield. This time, I put thunderstorm on my dps macro for its mana regen and glyphed to stop the knowback, and with a pot/flask maybe it's doable.Quote:

In some of my longer fights with Noth, I found that he started to spend less time on the floor and adds spawned faster. It may have been my imagination, or a bug; be sure he's fully reset before releasing. I hear Loatheb enrages after 5 min (but doens't seem likely looking at the timings)?Quote:

Noth took 13 minutes, danced for 11, and Loatheb was 10 on the dot.
For those looking for an upgrade path without raiding (like myself), I hope this offers something to try out before 3.2 comes to the rescue :D
That was rather impressive, love the video and good job on 5 boxing what some 10 individual players still cant do lol.
I must admit that he did have the whole damn place down like he did it every day but he got the achievement for doing it on the video, man how many times did you die? Was it a perfect run?

Another set of gear on the Heigan to find the winning formula, although I already knew the dance. Finally, the trash room between Heigan & Loatheb broke another set but he went down 1st time.
The whole run took about 3 hours! :(

I respec'd to dodgydid, and tried it again this weekend with 4 shaman... It was a doddle, there was always plenty of mana to go around and the tank didn't seem to suffer much from missing the top end prot talents. I even went 4 ele on Loatheb, but I now have the benifit of 3.2 conquest rewards :)Quote:

The rotation's a little naff and I miss throwing my shield around but if can still do heroic ToC tomorrow then I'm gonna stay like this and the mage can go back to making water.

I hear some of those fights (heigan, loatheb) have 45 minute enrage timers. Just so people would stop 2 manning them.

How did you manage to survive standing in the middle of the eruptions on Heigan? I noticed that during the phase where he's not on the stage, you didn't move yet the eruptions didn't kill your tank...
The eruptions range from about 3k normal to 6k crit on the tank. I found it easier to heal through them than run about as that was causing me range issues. :)

Just looked this up on wowwiki, apparently it's only a few k, but it can hit multiple times if you're far from the safe zone. Flicking back over the video, the tank did lose some large chunks of his health now and then, so maybe this tactic is a bit reckless but I'm lazy. Maybe exercise a little more caution if you attempt to 5man the heroic version :)
video says you're not in any raid gear except BOE's from the AH. Does that mean you're in full heroic gear? I've spent some good $$ on BOE epics from the AH to start heroics and i'm about 1700-1800+ dps ... how the heck are your guys at 2200+ dps in no raid gear? More info please :)
Had an 8 man attempt on Noth with another boxer, with a similar setup to yours but having problems with the healer (priest) dying from aoe mobs or missed taunts. Have a couple of questions for you:
1) Do you have your mage set up to decurse the group, or are you just eating that damage?
2) It looks like you are trying to keep adds down to one or two before continuing to dps the boss - is this the case or are they mostly going down from incidental CL damage?
wow thats amazing! Effex and i have killed 9 bosses with 2 teams of 5 now he has stopped multiboxing :-(

There are some nice raid drops that can be found in the AH, such as Benefactor's Gauntlets, Mantel of the Eternal Sentinel, etc. As Smooth mentioned, I was about as geared as I could be, pre 3.2, without actually doing raids myself.Quote:

I did this again with combat text on. Thee eruptions hit the tank for 6000-6500, and sometimes hit twice. So if I happen to also have the disease that halves hitpoints then I could be taking a large % of my remaining health. I could potentially get the paladin or a shaman to remove the disease off the tank, if the totem doesn't get it 1st, but I've had no problems using this tactic. :)Quote:

A shaman was removing the curse. I no longer use the mage as the paladin is now providing replenishment. :DQuote:

I was under the impression that the boss enraged, or at least the adds increased. So my tactic was to dps boss when he was there and deal with the adds when he went away. However, due to a little panic over healing at the start, i tried to pop off a few adds.Quote:

I just did this again, trying to make it last as long as possible by taking the adds down 1st. After a few waves, a new type of add (plagued construct) joins, who hits quite hard, and Noth only spent 30s on the floor between waves. If you can manage to ignore a few adds and dps Noth instead then I'd suggest doing so. :)
I did notice some taunt issues with the Plagued Gardians, who do arcane explosion, maybe put the tank between the party and their spawn point (bone pile to the left as you enter), they go down quick. Edit: Actually they spawn from vaious places, so scrap that.

Wow. 5 manning a 10 man raid. I love how you did Heigan, eating half of the slow dance to concentrate on dps. I always end up getting my toons killed during the fast dance part. I remember trying to 5 box naxx with another 5 boxer and we just couldn't do it.
And the plague wing is probably the best one, because as previously mentioned, no enrages, minimal adds to worry about, so no defininite need for an off tank. Hell since I have 8 80s now maybe I should just get a couple more accts and 8 box it.....
