I'm returning to multiboxing and I'm wondering what team is easiest to manage you think? I was going to do 5x shamans, but then there's no variety in there. Are 4x mages and 1x paladins good or no? I had a 4x mage 1x pally team before, but maybe I was horrible at managing as I could never really get the pally to tank while dpsing from the mages.
So, if I go 5x shamans, what specs should I go on each and all?

I think easiest is pally + 4 shaman.
i've done the 1x pally + 4x fire/arc mages... pretty simple due to the kill rate
if you are alliance, i would suggest rolling draenei for the mages, giving them a racial heal is pretty sweet. 4x racial heal == full health in 1 sec :D
I just hope I can stay interested in it this time. Last time I just sortof quit in the middle of my RAF :(
I'm getting the battle chests to start with this time, so I will have access to draenei's to start with.
I would do 1x pally + 4x fire mages, but I could never get it working right. I guess I'll give it a go again.
How long am I looking at taking to get to 60, roughly? Are there any multibox leveling guides for draenei's around here lol.
Also, does keyclone let you put say 4 screens on one monitor and a main on the other monitor?
I don't know what your end goals are, but 1-60 is a breeze compared to 70-80. Maybe once you get into your team a little more it won't seem so long, but if you're getting burned out with 1-60 using RAF then multiboxing may not be for you :(
If you plan on doing any 5 man instances by yourself, you need 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 dps. Some manage with 4 shaman as elemental and heal with that, but i think most have a dedicated healer. If you liked mages, keep 3 and add a healer of your choice.Quote:

Yes Keyclone lets you use 4 on 1 monitor and and a main on the other.
This is the setup that I use myself with keyclone.
Pally + 4 Shaman ftw.

That said, for "easiest", its got to be the way to go. One set of macros, four healers in instances in the "oh sh$t" situations, four dps when dedicated healing isn't needed, etc.
Mages are squishy and you'll get murdered in Heroics without a healer. Flat out murdered.
70-80 sucks ass.

you should either do 1pally and 4 shaman or 5x pally.
I guess it depends on your endgame ( PvP or PvE )
I found 5x pally did almost everything pre-heroic with awsome speed but there are just a few bosses I never could figure out like Ionar in HoL. the shaman had no problem with Ionar. some bosses were easier with 5x pally and some impossible and the shaman might have a hard time but I would eventually take stuff down.
a good classic 1 pally + 4 shaman is my main team and they are impossible to beat for doing heroics.

For SUPER easy, make one shamy Resto, and keep it that way. YES, you can do heroics with pal and 4 ele shams. For me it is way easy to do heroics with one of my shaman being resto.
I actually found 70-80 really easy /shrug. I did a few instances but mostly quested. I hit Icecrown at 77 and did tourney dailies + the normal Icecrown quests and sped through the last 3 levels. That was with 5xShaman. I'm leveling up a pally though to do heroics with.

If you want easy, this is definitely the setup for it.
Before 3.2 dk + 4 shaman, after probably paladin + 4 shaman. Assuming you are only doing 5 man content it will all be trivial with 4 ele shamans after you get gear, although basing the ease of heroics after you get gear from heroics is kind of chicken and egg. Even ungeared with 1 resto shaman enough heroics are doable to get a good number of badges per day.
With current welfare gear as long as you have a tank and a healer and some dps you will be able to clear stuff.
Pretty sure there will be many more viable combinations (5 shamans, 4 warlocks + priest/druid, priest + 4 hunters) that will probably work well enough once in 3.2 welfare gear when you have enough dps to just lolzerg everything. Which is not to say people aren't clearing heroics with these combos now, it's just not ezmode.
I back the Pally/Shammy setup. It's got a balanced selection of everything. All the characters can heal, all the characters can do damage, and the shaman can tank long enough for you to get unruly mobs under control. I think the biggest benefit to the Pally as a starter tank is the set it and forget ease of consecration.
If you are just against the Pally/Shaman recipe, then I'd suggest trying 5 druids specced mostly balance. You don't have the defense of the totem stacks for dealing with fears and the like, but they are very easy to set up and being able to have your entire group go stealth or shift to bear form for a swipe fest can be a life saver.
You might want to think about what it is that made you quit previously. Maybe it wasn't that the group was too hard, but that you didn't like the style of play. No matter how easy a group is to set up, if you don't like the caster aspect of a shaman group you won't stick with it. If you love writing macros, you may have more fun with a mixed group. Figure out what part you dislike and what part you enjoy and base the group off of that. You will get better if you keep playing, but if you stop playing it won't matter how easy the comp is.
