depending on which part they cover. if they have some good screen play and make as epic as LotR it should be worthwhile. i wont hold my breath though.
Best actor everQuote:
Christopher Walken
I put my trousers on one leg at a time, just like everybody else. But once my trousers are on I throw 10k fireballs!
Gah! they totally ruined something epic ;(Quote:

I'm just worried that a Warcraft movie will go the same route as nearly every other Book/Video game adaptation to teh TV.
Some are good, most are not IMO.
Good or bad, i'm sure i'll still enjoy it. Just the fact of being "in the world" in a theater will do it for me i think :-)
When one see the quality of the cinematics in wow, one can hope to have an epic movie.
The thought of any movie based on a video game just makes me roll my eyes. Now I feel obligated to see it because Sam Rami rocks. But I still feel dirty.

When I first heard speculation of a warcraft movie a long time ago, I already made up my mind never to even consider watching it. But I understand where you're coming from.Quote:

Lets all thank God that Blizzard respectfully told Uwe Boll not no, but hell no when he asked to have a hand in making this movie. Sam is by far a WAY better choice for this movie. Maybe not the best, but yes, the man does know what the hell he's doing. I personally woulda paid Peter Jackson any amount of money for this one though. But, that's my opinion. I sure as hell hope they get someone that'll rake in Oscars for when it comes time to make the Diablo movie.
i almost stopped watching Legend of the Seeker after watching the first show. But I watched the second episode and started to get into it. I ended up watching the whole season in about 3 days. I liked it..a lot! And cant wait for the second season!
As horrible as Uwe Boll's movies turn out, the whole background on his production is that it operates on a budget of peanuts. This is why studios love him. He sticks with video game movies because they already have a fan base. They turn a profit because of the low budget. When he approached blizzard on it, they were basically saying "if we're doing it, we're going to have a big budget which you have little experience with." I'd like to see what Uwe Boll would do with a big budget movie, heh, thankfully that'll never happen though. =)
I think they went away from Peter Jackson because they didn't want people to think it was another Lord of the Rings. Sam Raimi has enough connection with both the "experienced" crowd (Evil Dead) as well as the younger crowd (Spiderman).
The one big hope out of this is to really start putting video game movies into the limelight by backing a big budget movie and hopefully getting the sales to really turn some heads. Basically, Warcraft and Sam Raimi get one shot to really make or break the future of movies as a whole with this picture. If everything goes well, we'll have "big budget" video game movies coming out for the next 10 years. If it doesn't do well, then the video game movie market will be pretty much destroyed forever in regards to getting a large budget. It really will hinge on this movie.
Maybe it's just my wishful thinking, but I would love to see the big summer blockbusters be names like Zelda, Metroid and Half Life rather than diving deeper and deeper into the more obscure comic books.
A Zelda game would be nice, I mean they did Mario Bros. why cant they do a Zelda game! The question is which one would they do? And how would they accomplish it? CG or live?
Legend of the Seeker kind of disappointed me, I really enjoyed the series all the way to the conclusion and they changed a lot to make it into a show, and from what I saw there is no way they would actually renew the season and if they do there will not be a 3rd season.
If any of you have seen the Dresden Files? Same thing happen in that show they changed it so much it was just not that great and it did poorly, sure there was some ok stuff on it but it went so far away from the book that it kind of turned off real fans of the books.
And what about Eragon, they screwed up the movie, they left it open for a sequel but who would want to do a sequel after that?
Hope that Sam Raimi does a good job with this, there is so much potential!
Take for example some of the stuff in Lion, the witch and the wardrobe, I like what they did with the Tauren though they where minotaur and technically is the tauran actually minotaurs or not?
im pretty disapointed this isnt 100% blizzard cgi. why have an actor who looks like arthas play him when you can HAVE arthas. blizzard cgi is too brilliant to muck up with live action ach! do not want
arthas = tom cruise
