Battleground XP! leveling?

Hey, I read up yesterday that in the new patch, you will be able to get experience running BG's now. Hear is the quote from the wow site,

"Players will now be awarded experience for completing objectives and actions that yield honor in Battlegrounds (honorable kills not included)."

I am a pvp junky, and ive lost my interest in leveling atm with my shamans lvl (80, 73,73,73)
I am wondering once this patch comes out, if anyone knows if the xp accumulation will be sufficient enough to level (i know it would prolly be slower, but I would be gaining honor that I would use right when i dinged 80!!!)

I dont think we know yet, but i'm hoping its at least close to questing. if it is, then i'll be in heaven. if it takes like 2-3x as long...ill be sad.

i wouldnt care if it was 2 time more.. Like i would have capped honor for like 10 peices when i ding 80.. o wait no.. I can go more than cap.. I can just buy the pieces.. sick!! omg im excited

and important part of the World of Warcraft PvP game and we would like
to expand the system as much as we can. I do have a little tidbit that
I can share with you guys today, though. We are planning to implement
rated Battlegrounds in a future patch. We will be giving more details
on this system at BlizzCon.

Hmm rated bg matches, now that sounds awsome.. you get to play with other players who are good and dont have to worry about losing cause some stupid pug isnt listening or doing whatever he wants (usually what he wants is negatively affecting the match)

Im not sure how its supposed to work, but lets hope you get to choose your own team and dont have to roll with retarded pugs..

Unless your guilded i would expect it to be extremley hard to get a good rated team, im glad that i got a guild with only high rated players.

Well players on pvp servers shouldnt have much to worry about as most players on those servers are at least decent pvp'ers. Players on pve realms are gonna have it harder with all the care bears, and LOL at RP servers they were a joke before and even more so after this change goes thru.

wow thats a awsome quote.. I was thinking maybe the xp might be like 1k per win or something retarded.. But now that there is a quote that it says at a rate a little slower.. That still means i can do this.. thank god. im soooo done with questing in wow thats why i quit

Actually to me 99% of the pug players is pretty shit, i mean there are players who cant break 1700 rating in normal 3v3 and full pvp gear. Theese players always blame classes,gear,racials,comps even though there are players with the exactly same setup/specs 600 points higher.

They've mentioned the BG exp would be for objectives only, not for HKs. Therefore, until you hit level cap, don't expect to be healed when you carry the flag. Healers will watch you die so they can pick up the flag and run it. Flaw found.

Im pretty sure that everyone will benefit from the flag cap not just the carrier.

I would imagine the xp would be bg wide not just for the person capping.

I would imagine that, or i think how it will work will be kinda like honor.. You have to be kinda close the person dieing (or the "objective" whatever they may be... happening..)

I would assume there would be experience giving to like flag caps,,, wins.. Maybe things like the achievments.. i dunno

O and to answer your post about the flaw..

1. at the lower levels.. remember most of us are 4-5 boxing shamans.. we are healing ourselves!..
2. if they said the xp giving will be just a bit slower than the xp giving if u were doing straight quests.. there would be no way this could be matched if the only person who puts the flag in at the end recieves this Xp.
3. I think this is gunna revive a lot of pvp BG, and people will not just screw around in them, because if the team capturess the flag they will gain xp.. more interested = more quality of play.. hopefully

I'm glad to hear this as running the same few BG's for years has gotten pretty old. I would love, LOVE, to see more AV style BG's. Personally I like AV the best out of all the BG's because it combines both PVE and PVP, sure it could probably use a bit more of a reason to pvp alittle bit more, but I usally see quite a bit of pvp in AV.

One thing I'm wondering about as far as the xp rate being just a bit slower than questing is, What xp/hr rate do they consider questing to be at? Some people quest ALOT slower than others. Having played this game for 4 years I can quest extremely fast, so I'm just curious whose questing xp rate they are comparing it too? Noobs questing? Veterans questing? or a happy medium?

I almost certainly imagine that it would be xp for everyone in the BG. If not, then that would be the stupidest implementation I could possibly imagine Blizzard doing. It would be like only the person who caps the flag now gets the honor from it, or on the person who gets the killing blow on drek/vann or even HK's gets the honor from it. No one would ever be working together.

To thoose who enjoy pvping as a multiboxer this must be the best change ever..

Doing pvp from 70-80 will make you sit on ALOT of pvp gear when you hit 80, not to mention marks! You can buy all the gear that doesnt require rating or arena points before you hit 80 so you wont have to worry about reaching the honor cap either.

This will be really annoying for the faction on a battlegroup that never wins. They will probably get really bad xp also. Horde on my battlegroup can never get their crap together. I see alot of AV farming since even the loser can get decent points in there.

They better give xp to the loser as well. I hate being on a BG that loses all the time, sucks bad enough honor wise.

Im also worried that people will be more interested in certain objectives than winning the game if the objective rewards xp. I hope they implement this well.

With the mount changes, it would be great to open AV doors to at least lvl30+
What do u guys think? Big problem always was the ability to move fast in such a big BG, but now, i think it would be great to reduce the lvl in wich u can enter this bg.
I know i would farm AV with low levels whenever i got tired of my shamans :D

It'll be great not having everybody in the BG be level 19,29,39 ect. There is real fun/strategy when there is a level range participating in the games. Send in the higher levels first and use the lower levels as backup and support. Or use them as bait but keep good heals on them while their team gets destroyed because they are being too narrow sighted.

I hope people really get into this when the xp comes, it could be really good for the game.

I am unbelieavbly excited about this change. I don't quad box much anymore, but I have been slowly 2 boxing all my alts to 80 recently. I have half the classes to 80 already, and the other half sitting at 70. When I originally solo leveled my preist I went into BGs at 51 and leveled to 60 purely from BG token turn-ins. Had full rank 10 gear and exalted gear from all 3 factions the minute I dinged 60. Then they basically got rid of the ability to level purely from BGs in TBC. I am SOOO happy that they are bringing it back.

My predictions:

1) Old school BG grinding teams steamrolling PUGs in all brackets. (I am actually excited for this, I am one of the insane few who wants the old lvl 60 pvp system back, and I know my friends and I are going to be slam-dunking hundreds of WSG flags :thumbsup: )

2) AFKing making a comeback. With the reporting system I hope it wont be too much of a problem, but giving bigger rewards for BGs is going to cause more people to want to scam the system.

3) Better BG preformance on both sides. Most people kill on the roads or in midfield because they are just in the BG to have fun. They don't really care about tokens or honor. This new system will hopefully attract people who want to win for the rewards, and will therefore play more intelligently (which in my opinion makes it even more fun).

4) Specifically multi-boxing will become more viable. From what I understand people have been having success in BGs with lots of differnent class combinations. Anything that takes the focus away from arenas and puts it into BGs is good for us.

I think I said excited like 5 times. It is going to be awesome.

You'd have to run AV over and over for a few months, but yeah the honor would be nice. It's instant queues on Reckoning but horde wins about 10% of the games. It's like this on most battlegroups I've been on. AV is pretty flawed, but this could be great if you're alliance

I play on reckoning, and I'm not sure what you're talking about - I just spent the past week lvling my 5x spriests from71 -> 79 (almost there) ... I suppose I won about 40-50% of the games - and won ZERO games against your server's pre-made ...

About 6 times I ran into a Nathrezim AV premade that kept rolling the alliance - and by "rolling" I mean that they refused to "win" the game. They would meet the alliance at Galv, take all the graveyards, and force us back to the start - except they wouldn't just kill Vann & win. They would cap the towers, and leave one graveyard free (usually the first ally gy coming out of the tunnel). All alliance would end up spawning there to MASSIVE AOE from all sources (i counted at least 60 rogues spamming fok :rolleyes:) , that would kill you in less than a second - no chance to get out. Over and over we would spawn and die. They would eventually win when we ran out of resources - even though they would have the towers. 20-30 minutes games would net the horde HUGE honor ... on the 7th game i afk'd out right away and took the 15min debuff.

I was disgusted and awed at the same time - mostly I just felt kinda used :)

If you were a part of that mayhem, YOU SUCK ... and you're kinda awesome at the same time :)

It has changed recently with BG xp.. alliance has a lot less 80s that aren't playing the proper strat, and horde tries.

I've been in our premade a few times. The strat is designed so run you out of reinforcements and make sure we end the game with every single resource under control. Also it's designed so that alliance gets pretty much no honor at all (we've seen allies end the game with 30 honor, whereas we get 2500).
