WTB faction transfers. Glad I spend most of my time in bear form.
Pink cats...who approved that design? The alliance already has enough problems with gnomes; now this.
Wish I had 5 cats instead of just 1.
Guild name : Reservoir cats.
Character names : MrPink, MrWhite.........
I like some of the alliance ones - still it will be nice on my lowbie horde druid to look like Scar from lion king.
The black horde cat with the red paint on its face looks really nice. But now at least alliance can have a guild named hello kitty island adventure and have pink cats LOL.

i dont know its not like theyre hot pink or anything. the colour scheme matches the whole night elf palate. i just have never gotten into druids cause i like to see my new gear and whatnot. i dont know why its just a fun part of the game for me

Honestly, as a level 80 feral druid tank, who has looked the same since around level 10... I honestly don't get all the hoopla. This whole business of going to the barber shop and paying for privilage of selecting 1 of 5 or 6 other designs to be stuck with until you decide to go pay some more money to choose a different 1 of the 5 or 6 is more insulting than if they had just left things as they were. It's like going to a nice restaurant, enjoying great service, and leaving a 25 cent tip.
They're not going to fix the fact that shape-shifted forms aren't going get a new look with every gear upgrade, and I suppose that they can make reasonable arguments about why that would require whole new sets of gear models that do nothing to add to the playability of the game. Fine... not sure what gear models for every other class do to add to the playability of the game, but whatever.
But then, I'm one of those weird guys who doesn't understand paying wagon loads of gold for a different looking mount that moves at the same speed of the mount that I already have...
I play the druid because I like the game mechanics behind the class... not becuase I get to look pretty playing dress up.
Bear form would be cool looking if it was like armor plated or something, or even better armor plating that changes to match the color of your gear, but than again that would take a day or 2 of work and blizzards design team forgot what that word meant a long time ago.
It's a role-playing game. A large part of the game for some people is getting their character to look a certain way - the way they want to be represented in the game. That's why blizzard implemented the barbershop, created new skins for druids, create different looking armor sets, races/classes/blah blah etc. So for, you this change doesn't matter. For others, it's important.Quote:

Alliance had the best looks on cats untill now, maybe it was time to change?

For folks to whom such things are that important, the honor of paying for 5 or 6 choices when ever other class get's literally millions of combinations automatically, is more of an insult than a fix. What's more, those for whom appearance is so important probably never made it thru 70 levels with the same look anyway. If they did, then I suspect that "getting their character to look a certain way" was not so large a part of the game for them as you seem to suggest.
Keep in mind these are also higher quality skins than previous. It is a graphical upgrade even if people don't appreciate the specific designs chosen.Quote:

I don't think I like the fact that it's linked to your character's skin color, I wish they would have found a different way, but I'm not really passionate about it either way.
I believe this was the major purpose behind the upgrades. Given the performance of today's graphic cards, a lot of people simply wanted higher polygon counts on forms and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if all toons eventually got a model update. These models were designed about 5 years ago, so it's mostly a technology refresh. The fact that there's even just a little bit of a customization to them now was probably meant to be an added perk, rather than the main purpose of the update.Quote:

But I'm one of those people that don't really care either way. I was fine with the way they were, and the ability to customize is kinda neat even if the Alli cats now look a little more cutesy. Still doesn't change their performance or dynamics. The only thing they really lacked was a visual respresentation of "progress" in the game.
its not that im picky about how i look so much its just interesting for my gear to change. i dont roleplay and it doesnt actually matter what it looks like its just nice to have the variety :)
If they ever make it so that you can show your gear in cat/bear form I am so going to level my druids. That's what I want to see a Cat that has gear on and it shows, i mean it makes since its not like you go naked when you turn into a cat or bear. Can we say He-Man!
Many many druid players have been crying out for updated forms for a long time now, as there was just no distinction between a lvl 15 bear vs a lvl 70 or 80. Its something 70 % or more of the population wanted to see implemented, though it may just be fluff, its definitely a good change. Its like food, would you really only eat pizza every day of your life for 3 meals a day, or would you be happy when the cook finally gives you a delicious bucket of fried chicken and taters?
seem like the real solution wouldve been for the actual model to change as you level. sorta like how the first horse you get is just a horse but at 60 you get one with armour and junk on it.Quote:

Anyone know if they are going to be updating the moonkin and tree forms also? Cause tree isnt that bad but moonkin is disgusting.
I am one of those that pays very close attention to how my toons look.
I don't like the way the horde druids look. but yet I can see how shape shifting you can not lose the horns though I wish they would go away.
I will remake a toon several times till the name and look are just how I want them. I will go for certain pieces of gear because I like the look. I used addons to switch gear when I entered cities to replace crappy looking gear with gear that I enjoyed looking at.
But this is how I enjoy the game. And yes my toons are higher level then 70. I do have an 80 druid. So your missconception of us who like good looking toons is WRONG. I even have a male friend who takes it even further then I do on the look of his toon.
I do have a 70 hunter that was one of my original vanilla wow toons. It took me 3 years to level her. Because she is orc and dog ugly. If the toon doesn't look right and name doesn't fit I will delete it. Even if it is a 60+ toon. If I don't enjoy playing that toon and HATE loggin it on because of char features your darn right I will change it.
I'm happy to see the face lift and more custumization. It has been a long wait for this to be put in. Now they need to put more options in when you create your toon. That way I can place scars, tatoo's etc where I want on my toons. That way I don't see another 500 toons that look just like me.
For those complaining... an analogy.
We'd love a steak. They're not giving us a steak. At least we got a hamburger.
Thats where the joy comes from.

I loooove the new druid art, Horde and Alliance. It's great that they're still taking care of us, even with art that doesn't *have to be redone to keep everyone happy enough.Yeah, yeah, everyone's an art director with an intimate knowledge of production. But you bring up a good point: those lazy veteran game developers with the most successful MMO of all time, a killer cinematic production house, two guaranteed best-sellers in the works and a list of previous best-sellers and awards as long as your arm, really need to get with the program!Quote:

Reminds me of a time when I was in the midst of selling off gear before I deleted the toon. I sold everything down to the clothes. I stayed in cat form instead of running around nakedQuote:

All analogies aside, druids are still a bunch of 'pussies'
(see what i did thar! ;))
And by making them all pink, they're giving us a gardenburger, sure, it's different and unique, but not many people really want them.Quote:

No offense to any alliance mb'rs but for the lvl 80 feral Druids doing little more then camping lowbies, I think pink is the perfect color.
Now, if they could only add a debuff to players who grief 20 greys in row that gives them a bright yellow stripe down their back. Yellow stripe on a pink skinned Druid, perfect. Heck, that'd reward enough to be able to laugh at the punk.
He's playing on Mag/horde, where the national alliance druid pastime is ganking low-level <The Zerg> groups. THey even buy horde spy accounts to be able to track us and inflict maximum grief.Quote:

Although I got a chuckle out of seeing this, I strangely didn't have a sense that this was much of a stretch of what they did to the cats. The scene kid and drama cat are just too classic.Quote:

My 7 year old neice got a kick out of watching my play boomkin one time, but these new cat designs are more in line with the cute and cuddly look that she's into.
