Anybody else noticed a huge increase in the frequency of this message lately?

I myself ran into it when I was trying to do a dry-run of UD Strat with my hunter to see how viable she would be for RAF boosting toons. I kept trying the instance portal over and over for 10 minutes and still could not get in.

My buddy is already doing RAF instance boosting of some new alts and about 2-3x/day he'll run into this message and have to try for up to 20-30 mins before he gets in.

No, this has NOTHING to do with the instance resets per hour. That is a completely different message. This one can come up on the first instance you attempt to zone into on a given day.


GG Blizz, please upgrade your instance servers to handle more instances, or write some code to cleanup ppl's finished, cleared, empty, fully-looted instances.

Worst case, it's only taken me a minute or two of trying to get in. Usually though, I get in a few seconds later. I guess it all depends on your server and population.

I haven't noticed any increase in this issue lately. In fact, seems almost non-existent lately.

The message means too many people are in instances at that moment on your server.

It happens to me all the time. It's usually cleared up in less then 5 mins.

I've not had it take more than 7 minutes to get into an instance but yeah, it's highly annoying during prime time. Though it is sometimes amusing to see 4 groups of people running in and out of the instance portal obviously getting the same message.

I've had it happen off and on every since Wrath launched. Like Ugh said, it generally only takes a couple minutes tops to get an instance to spawn up. The only time it's been longer was when 3.1 went live and everyone and their mother was zoning into Ulduar to check it out.

I used to restart a few times and it eventually worked; but when I wanted to do my weekly Kara; 15mins of trying it still wasn't working; went to ZG and it wasn't working there either... but after another maybe 15 mins it finally worked (when my ticket said it would be serviced in about 1h 30 mins...)

My old server was notorious for this message. But it was never a 5 minute wait, average was 30-60 min of non-stop trying to launch an instance. There were so many people trying to get in, the problem only got worse as time went on.

Eventually I fixed the problem, by taking a free server transfer.

Some friends and I spent over 15 minutes trying to zone in to heroic HoL/HoS a couple of nights ago, it is quite frankly bullshit.... they should implement a queue like the battlegrounds so at least I can do something other than running in circles at the zone in for 15 minutes straight.

I usually get the Additional instances could not be launched message. I was trying to solo Crypts the other night on my mage and it took like 17 minutes to finally get into the instance. Then I was running Cot1 and Cot2 with some friends and ran into the same problem. I seem to get the message more on BC dungeons on my server.

Yeah, I get this during prime times on Shattered Hand US pretty regularly. One time it probably took a good 20 minutes, but usually I just keep my guys running back and forth into the instance portal and it doesn't take more than a minute or two. It's pretty random though because you're fighting against anyone else who is trying to run into an instance and getting the message. It'd be nice if it would work queue-style as long as you stay near the instance portal or something, but it's not generally an issue

First time I saw this message was last night when I was chased by few Alliance characters in Barrens. I got this brilliant idea, lets hide in RFK! I jump in, get loading screen and then..... back again to the ANGRY Alliance waiting out side. As they were ripping me a new one I thought, wtf does Unable to launch additional instances. Please try again later mean!?!?!

Sigh. I really hope this gets addressed soon. On my realm (Shadowsong) it's getting worse all the time. Yesterday it took me almost an hour to zone into RFD...by which time it was too late for me to do a full run so I just ran the first boss and then logged out in the instance. I figure this way, even though I won't get rest XP, when I log back in tonight I should be standing at the entrance of a new instance.

Or maybe I'll be standing outside the instance with the message in the thread title already on the screen. GRRRR!

Post-secondary school is ending in many places so expect delays.

On another note, how many people were in the battlegroup(s) that were completely down for all of yesterday? I was. Ended up finally watching the Transformers 1 movie on my PC. Now I see what all the hype is about Megan Fox.
