I have not been playing much due to real life stuff. When I log in to check my mail I have no desire to do anything. I have 15 80's. What do you old timers do in order to stay interested in this game?

10 box?
Try a Pvp server???
Ive always only ever played on a pve server and was getting bored of the whole game both solo and boxing, so I started on the Magtheridon server a couple of days ago, has given me a new lease of life.
:-) though im yet to reach a contested zone and get ganked a billion times, but even if i do will be all good for the giggles.
of course if you already play on a pvp server this wont help.
cheers,
trev
I took a break . . .
I though I quite for good
but it lasted only 3 month
I am back on WarCrack =P
Try a different MMO :) It's a breath of fresh air.
I would start 10 boxing ;p
I'm with Ellay. Switch MMOs if you absolutely HAVE to play an MMO. I'd suggest FFXI, but that's just because I'm ronery being the seemingly only active FFXI boxer at the moment.
Other than that, I'd say deacivate your accounts and go enjoy some single player games for a while.
I would have suggested a alt team but with 15x 80's you have obviously already done that.
If I had 15x 80s I would try to 10 box Naxx, at least the parts of it that are boxable.
I agree with Fursphere 100% on this.
If all of your characters aren't in full tier 7/7.5+ you should start a raiding guild or join one. I'm only one week into being 80 with my new team, and the only things I'm missing for one of my shaman are her tier pieces, which I'll get this week. All of her other gear is raid dropped (mostly 25-m). Funny thing too - before one of my raid shamans received her emblem of valor, she received an emblem of conquest from 25-man ulduar. Let me tell you, riding around on a motorcycle with only 55k hps (she was in quest greens and non heroic dungeon blues when I first did Ulduar) while everyone else has bikes with 550k in the FL event is hard mode (but its also fun as hell).
Other than that, I've been trying out new things. Mainly, since hitting 80 with this team, I've just been running the characters solo (gearing them all up independently... 5x characters to run raids with = there's always something to do). I just setup Grid and Clique the other night for my resto shaman, and went out to heal a PuG Heroic UP. Needless to say, it went smooth and we only had one death (I stayed in Invgar's Axe like a nub). The list of "hard" heroics really goes out the window when you find people with mediocre to decent dps to run with. Plus I feel like the ability to do any heroic is worth a ton more than just limiting yourself to Heroics you can do with "your team". A few of my buddies who've dinged 80 recently have gone on to get their bronze drakes from the CoS timed event.
The other thing I would recommend is just going out and meeting people in the game world; you'd be suprised as to what other people can do for you. Like I say, I'm only a week into 80, and I'm being tossed whispers and group invites right when I log on, every day (with different characters, LoL). Don't limit yourself to only boxing - as you start to network, you'll find yourself participating in more and more events - that's what keeps me playing.
I started 2v2ing and raiding single boxing.
ATM I only have 2 of 7 accounts active gogo.
Join the club, there's been a few of us that have grown bored of the game and moved to different MMO's to box (Eve, EQ2, and FFXI so far).Quote:

I would suggest a new MMO or 10box.
I understand your pain.
all that have made suggestions have points.
What worked for me was playing pvp solo.
Gearing your chars in WG is fun and reminds me of the way pvp used to be.
get a buff to make your char have 3x 5x 8x htps an dps is just too fun.
I have 7 accounts with only 2-5 actively played.
2 boxing in WG is real fun , put healing in tank , have dps kill all and healer is protected my tank.
:)
I'm just solo playing most of the time, I reactivate my accounts for the holiday events and then cancel them after its over -- now cancelled until Midsummer, then brewfest, then I have the 310% violet proto drake on 5 guys!
i'd echo trying a different game or playing solo (raiding), while 10 boxing is maybe fun for some people it just seems like a crazy amount of work for really sketchy rewards -- for a lot less effort you can just pug the raids and get a lot further in a much shorter amount of time. The only real reason I 5-boxxed heroics and arenas is that they can be done pretty quickly and rapidly solo for gold/gear/mounts/pets/etc, whereas 10 boxxing Naxx is a big step up in difficulty and I have had 0 problems pugging naxx/ulduar/malygos/os/voa/etc with fast clears.
personally i'm gonna be trying out all the single player games I missed the past year, can't wait to checkout Fallout 3 and Fable 2.
EQ2 boxing is actually fun, having to play multiple classes.
With the lack of information on the net about EQ2 these days, you get to actually explore the game on your own, and not have it ruined by a million FAQ/Guides on the net.
EDIT - Try Runes of Magic. Its free! Up to 5 accounts per household, accepts keystrokes while in the background.
I'm going with the "have a baby" technique for spending less time multiboxing =P
When I get bored, I come here and read what other people are doing. That nearly always gets me interested again, because other people always seem to be doing far more interesting things with their teams than I am with mine!
Other than that, there really are some great single-player games out there too :)
We had a failed attempt last summer but this one is a keeper =P We are due end of September so I am furiously getting my badge grind done while I still have time...lol.Quote:

I have been Alliance for a long time ( beta ). My friends started there so i did as well. I always wanted to be horde. I started a horde team on my server ( so I could take advantage of the neutral auction house). I also have a team in EQ2 but will wait and see how things go horde side. If I'm still bored, Ill try another MMO, most likely start a new team on Nektolus server EQ2
I ended up switching factions to help keep me interested. Probably is I am so bored to death with leveling its stalled me at 71 on my alliance team, I so wish I was 80 with them. Combine that with the fact that I got a ton of RL stuff going on and I found out today I'm going to have my 4th kid (I'm only twenty eight) is going to cut my playtime to next to nothing now.
The one thing I've always wanted to see is every single boxer on these forums rolling the same class on the same server just to see how many we can get. That would be funsies imo :P
Mass DK's or something on a server and then go raid a town...lol
If there was no limit for instances I reckon we could solo Ulduar with 1000 level 55 dks ;)Quote:
