Has anyone tested this live yet?
From what I read it only works on live units. So my plan is to keybind it and when I click on a quest giver have all my guys /assist and then hit this key so no more manually clicking on all my slaves to open up a quest guy.
Has anyone actually got to do this on live yet? I am just curios if it is working or not.
i've done gone in and set this to Shift-~ (shift and console key) so that I can still use the unshifted `(console key) for the 'turnoraction' keybinding. I have my /click on ground AoE spells still set to keys 1 or 2, depending on the toons. might refigure tho to a couple other buttons, but for now the new interact action seems to work on npcs and mailboxes. haven't tested on herb or mineral nodes yet.
I used it all last night, and I love it. I didn't try looting corpses, but it works for:
Opening NPC dialog across all characters.
Auto-attacking enemies across all characters.
Mounting the Sunreaver Hawkstriders at the tournament.
Just being able to do those saves a TON of clicks. My /assist key is Backspace, and I bound "\" as Interact with Target. So 2 quick buttons and all quest windows are open. Now if Jamba would work ?(
I've looted corpses with it.
Button 1 = /target focustarget
Button 2 = Interact with target (loot!).
It will interact with anything you can actually target.
Is it bindable under key bindings or do you have to write a script for it?
I dream of the day I can push one button and have all my guys open up a quest guy to turn in all their quests at the same time.
You have to bind it. It's a protected function. It's pretty darn close to what you want.

That day has been here my friend! I don't even need Jamaba ( however its a great addon ), using Innerspaces mouse mutiplexer just turn it on and go to town turning in quests, group invites, anything!

Finally the servers stabilized and I loaded up WoW and set my key binding to J for interact unit. I had one unused button on my N52 so I made that J. I rode up to a quest giver with my main left clicked him and hit my assist button and the J button and all my guys opened up the quest screen at once. A small tear from left eye and somewhere a litter of puppies were born......
Now if only I could click doodad_scrap_metal_001 with a macro/keybind :-PQuote:

I had a great work around for software multiboxing, or so I thought. I positioned my mouse in the center of the WoW window, then win-m (minimize all windows) and went to the next WoW window, etc until all pointers were in the center, however, when I first hit my interact with mouseover keybind, the last WoW window was active, and the mouse was in the center. This would force me to win-m again, becoming more hassle then it's worth each time I want to harvest a vein, herb or lootable world item (quest or Glowcap, etc)
I set up a macro for /assist TOON_NAME_HERE and bound it to >
then keybound interact to z (never bother to sheath/unsheath weapons anyway)
Set up my fang controller board to do
LSHIFT+PERIOD (wait 200 ms) z
with single a keypress.
made sure to let Keyclone pass those keys (I use the pass-only feature to keep random spam from going to myalts)

Something of interest though... I can freely interact with vendors and questgivers while mounted when using the mouse, but when I use this, it dismounts my slaves.
I made sure none of the keystrokes were somehow double-bound or doing something funky
Its not too horrible except for turning in quests where you're flying.
Also, the anvil, horn, helm, and spear of Hodir are not targetable, so I can't use it with them. Could probably use the mouseover one for that, but if it dismounts like the interact does, that could be BAD.

you can't macro the functionality of this, its protected API. You can find the option to bind it to a keypress under Keybindings in WoWs main menu.
anyone here using ISXboxer explain to me why a simple /assist key is not working in ISXBoxer? It makes this interact w/ unit button even harder to use when the damn thing wont let my guys assist. Strange considering all my attack spells assist beforehand and work....
Does it work with portals (like OS drakes' ones) or the MC orbs in Razuvious?
If yes, how?

There are 2 ways to set up interact with unit. One is interact with target and one is interact with mouseover. The mouseover option doesnt help much because if you can mouse over what you want to use you can just send a right click there also. The way to use it is interact with target and assist your main. So basically no, you can't do that. You need an actual target you can select.Quote:

If I get this right, all I have to do is make a macro "/assist [Main]" and keybind it, then look for the Interact with Unit option in keybindings and change that, then whenever I need a slave to loot, or open up a quest dialog box, I'd just hit the assist button and then the interact button?

I just added an /assist [main] line to my "follow macro" - so after combat I tap "follow" and then "interact with target" (alt-modified same key as i have bound to Follow).

I enabled it for the first time at the weekend and it really is amazing.
I can send my guys off to loot corpses on their own, melee when they're out of mana (as a bonus, the pathing "logic" causes some comic effects at times!) and I will never again have that one guy out of range of the quest giver and get out of sync!
When my guys get feared, a quick tap of my "interact" button followed by a down-arrow or similar to stop movement makes sure they're all facing the same way too.
I couldn't live with it on my "main" though - it'd drive me nuts ;)

Clarifcation please. I am trying to set this up on my druid team. And i am little behind the power curve on this and I apoligize if this redundent.
I have 3 basic macros that i am using.
First I use the basic Follow the Leader.
/target Oxyn <Main Druid>
/focus
/follow
Second once we killed the target I click on the target with my main and then press this macro.
/target focustarget
Third I have the interact with target ket binding set to "R"
so i have to press r to loot it. And with auto loot it loots the target.
Questions - Have I set this up right? Do i need all 3 buttons to make this work or can I simply use 2 ?
Ultimately you need two keystrokes to make this work.
Your main targets something.
Keystroke 1, is assist the main, so you are now targeting what she is.
Keystroke 2, is the interact keybind, so you interact with your target.
If you use the Focus system, and your main is the Focus, you'd need another key once to set focus.
If you use Party Leader system, your assist key could be /assist [target=party1]. Still need a keystroke to change leaders.

because I use targetarget based targeting I created a macro:
/assist target
bound to ","
and bound the Interface with target to "."
so I target with my main and press ,.
this is so nice - no more click fest

No one said something about the usefullness for collection quests. This should make those MUCH easier or did I missed something?
Target corpse and let the slaves interact until they all got the needed objects
Probably it doesnt help if you collect crates or something like this. I guess they are not targetable

There was a discussion a while ago about making your team turn to face an attacker, and which items would work. I think it's already been mentioned that using interact with unit in conjunction with click-to-move does this for you, but it's worth mentioning again.
What I hadn't realised before is that it also gives you pet-like functionality when you can't find your quarry!
When I played my hunter team, I used to be able to "/target" somebody / something, sic the pets on it and then follow my pets to wherever they were hiding.
Now I can use my drones in the same way (albeit without any pathing), as the sneaky level 80 hunter discovered at the Blue Sky Logging grounds over the weekend :) Just /target them, hit the interact with unit button and away they go in the direction of the target.
I've no idea what the range of interact / click to move is, but it seems like a VERY long way!

I'm running into a strange problem and I think I must be doing something wrong. I use the /assist leader macro then push the Interact with unit key and it works on NPCs only every other time.
I'm using the latest Jamba.
Interact With Target, is a Blizzard function.
For best effect, also use Click to Move (Interface - Mouse Options).
I personally have one mouse button as assist (using Target=TargetTarget, for my DPS macro's).
The other mouse button is my Interact With Target.
I'm not sure why it would only work half of the time for you.
Verify each step along the way:
1) You're targeting the main.
2) You assist the main so you have their target.
3) You click the interact keybind.
4) Your toons move towards the target.
5) They interact when they get there.
Not really sure what else I can say.
If you're using Jamba and follow strobe is enabled, there's a chance you interact with a target, but then Jamba strobes follow which breaks that. Not sure if this is the case or not.

It's under the Mouse options in the game settings menu.
If you don't have it enabled then your drones will only be able to interact with targets that are in range. If you enable it, they will actually put themselves in range and then interact with the target.
I swear this must have been added by a Blizz developer who multi-boxes - it's an absolute God-send :)

ok question for all you guys... if I enable this and my main dies in PvP... I have to click to move when I switch to a slave don't I?
Ugh..... that shit is horrible in pvp.
Click-to-move doesn't disable your other movement options. You can still drive your "new main" with the mouse / keyboard in exactly the same way as you did before the old main died.
It's only when you click somewhere that it's going to get confusing. I die - and transfer control - alot in PvP and although I wouldn't usually want it enabled on any character I'm driving, it really doesn't cause me any pain once I remember to just not click other than to target :)
I have been using this for an amazing loot/skinning tool. It's awesome to send your slaves out to loot and then click /follow and they return to you.
I had not though of using it as a direction pointer as well to face the target. My question is can I cancel the call once made?
My mages are at 20yrd and facing the wrong way, Can I interact with target and the cancel the call .5 seconds later so they do not get within melee range? Basically making interact with target a 'bump' button?
Basically just hit it and follow with backwards right after and they won't move.
What patch was this added? 3.2.0 ?
