I've 5 boxed a hecka lot in WoW, but I've never actually done any boosting.
Is it optimum to use a lvl 80 ?
Which classes and builds do you prefer for boosting ? I'm thinking maybe DK or Pallie ?

Lock/Hunter/DK killing group-tagged mobs with pets 1-10.
Paladin/DK/mage 10-35
DPS Warrior 35-60
Well me and my brother use a druid... level 80. And we just put the 4 lowbie alts just inside the instance door. Stealth the druid to the end and pull all the mobs from the whole instance to the begining and use swipe to hit all of them. Every pull levels one of the alts. Stocks level 15-25, SM 25-35, Sunken Temple 35-45, LBRS 45-58 and 58-60 Ramps. If you need anything more just let me know. I hope that is what you were asking.

Do you do the Monastry itself in SM in two runs ? Pull to zone from outside the Temple, then inside the Temple in middle ?
i use my lvl 72 BM Hunter to pull a little at a time, stuns and backhand slow me down, and cause the bleed effects to stack and sap health rather fast. so far i've only run mine thru Deadmines, *shudders*, don't want to run that one again, and Stock's. right now, he's still in his season 1 Gladiator gear set, and i use my gorilla to help. I set him on passive, round up a group, or hallway, then pull close enough to my slaves so they don't go after them, toss down my explosion trap, then have my gorilla use Thunderstomp. at that point, i've done damage to them, so i don't loose the xp and loot, thunderstomp, along with the talents to increase the threat draws aggro onto him, so i can throw down Volley and get them all at once. so far i've only done this method with my new slaves, I have however run my brother and guildies thru other instances like SM, all 4 parts, DMs, and Stocks, but those times, i didn't try this method. I tried using my gorilla to pull first using Eyes of the Beast, but i have to run right on top of the enemies and in some cases hit them before he pulls them, so i said screw it and just use my main with Aspect of the Monkey on. however, you can't dodge 20+ swords stabbing you in the back while running :/ but it does help
Well from 1-15... i just do the starting quests in Gold Shire area... its faster to level them doing the quests than it is to instance grind them at this level. I tried using Dead Mines... but 1 you have to be level 10 and two it just seems to not work as well as stocks at 15.Quote:

15-25 STOCKS, just stealth to the end going down the left hall and go in every room on the way back using demorilizing roar to pull them. Don't try to pull the right hall yet, pull them in a second pull, cuz they stun a lot. Use frenzy as needed and swipe in bear form... they run but they come back. When you get comfortable to the feel of things, you can do this... if you mess it up you will die though. Pull them all to the bottem of the stairs (Alts still at the top), just before you finish gathering them all up, use frezy (dont forget to get the plus to frenzy inscription) just to top off your health, use bark skin, and i have two tanking trinkets, dodge trinket and a shielding trinket, then bezerker, change to cat form and just destroy them with the cat swipe. Then pull the hall to the guys in the right hall... i normaly move my alts up to the top of the stairs... but you really dont need to. I use the alt as mules to loot.
25-35 SM, ya i just do cathedral then armory then reset. I use to have to pull cath in 3 pulls, but now i can do it in one. I the talent that lets you faster in cat form and the a 4 set bonus to move faster in cat form. So i pull them all now in 1 pull, but i have to admit, it can be hard. I put the alts in Cath not at the instance portal but about 30 yards from there at the very end of the hall, so that i can use the little hall to the portal (out) to line of sight the casters to melee range. I recomend getting use to pulling these guys before trying the whole instance at once. The lower part outside the cath, then Upper part outside cath, then just hit the boss and sprint out, then all the mobs inside the cath agrow as soon as the boss is tapped. If you are daring enough to pull all at once, i pull the boss, run out, grab the guys outside the cath along the right side, then go to the water fall, then let them get close to me and jump, it gives time for the mobs farthest away from you to catch up and gives you a little breathing room. I then gather the guys along the right lower wall, all the way around to the left wall then back up the lower left side to the upper left side, then run from the upper left side nearest the door to the Cath, run to the cath door sprinting and jump off the water fall again, buying time, you can get a couple heals in if needed at this time, run back to the little hallway at the begining gathering the guys you stealthed passed at the begining and just use the corner to LOS the casters and swipe away. Again, if you are quick enough you can use that cat form trick if you like, again just be carefull. If you cant get them down in the 15 seconds of bezerker, you will have to go back to bear, cuz bezerker helps with your energy in cat form. Don't forget that tiger's fury can give you a little added energy (talented) at the end of bezerker if needed. Remember to use charge and heals and bear from when needed while pulling.
35-45 Sunken Temple, ok no more letting the alts sit at the very begining of the instance... i know.. i know ... sorry. Ok from 35-40, i do lower and upper ST, at 40 i dont do lower ST anymore, if you know how xp works, then you know the guys on the lower part are no longer 5 level about your alts, which means you dont get MAX XP per kill. So the path i take is this: counting from left to right, i take the second hall to the stairs that lead up and down. I go down (make sure you get that inoying pat on the stairs or they will kill your alts while you are pulling the next big pull) the stairs, at the bottem of the stairs is where you leave the alts. You now go into that hall that makes a hugh circle around the center of the temple. Go left or right doesnt matter because you will wind up back at this spot. While pulling this circle, i think its really easy but my brother swears it hard... all i do is pull in bear form, i use charge to and roar every chance i get. Dont get to far in front of the main pack of mobs because if you get to far in front of them, they will reset. The imps, always reset, but they are none elites (less XP per kill)... so who cares. Again use the corner of the doorway to LOS the ranged Mobs... use that cat trick if you wish/can. Then i loot and move the group into the hall and left down the circle hallway into the very first door on the right. go down the stairs to a platform with a snake here. Kill the trash couple of mobs and park your alts here. Jump and again pull the circle using the methed as before. Dont get to far in front of the pack and use roar as much as you can. You can start with the couple of mobs in center if you wish... but they seem to reset %50 of the time. When done kill the pack, have your alts jump, loot if you wish, and put the alts on follow. Head out of the circle down the only path available killing the small groups as you find them. Go up the stairs that lead up to the starting place. Take the same second hallway from the left, this time going up the stairs. When you find the small group of mobs at the first platform kill them and park your alts here. You finish going up the stairs and you guessed it, you go left or right and pull the mobs in this hall going in a circle until you get back to the same top of the stairs. Turn and swipe them down, use the cat trick if you wish, loot if you wish, now go back to the platform your alts are parked on and take the path that is not goin up or down. It will lead you to a mini boss that is casting some green thing. Kill him and park your alts. Now again, i pull all the dragons and once... but untill you get the hang of the very well... don't try it. If you can pull all the dragons at once without dieing... i give you the rank of expert powerleveler :-P I will let you figure it out how you want to pull them. Just keep in mind, cat form should be faster then the mobs and chase you. And dont forget your charge and heals fairy fire (to pull) and sprint. Kill the dragons under the platform your alts are on, alts jump down, loot if wanted, then park your alts in the very center of the room (without falling in the whole LOL). You run down the norh path down the stairs, untill you are back that the begining. For the last time this run, you will once again run up the second hall from the left, up the stairs, to the hall that down a circle around the temple center, left down the hall and into every doorway along the way killing the mini bosses with the green light. Once you kill them all, you will hear a mob yelling. Jump down, put the alts on follow, now looking at the mini map (imagin if it was a clock). you want to run down the path that leads to 4:30 posission. At the very end of the left wall, near the corner, park your alts. You can pull this hole room (dont pull the boss) and use the opposite side of the entrence to LOS the cast mobs into melee range. Do that cat thing if you want, loot if you want. Now you have a choice if you want to kill the 7 bosses remaining or just leave and reset. Take like 2 mins to kill the bosses. You do get some xp but not as but as the big pulls and you do get blue drops off most of them that sell for 1-5 gold. Up to you. To leave just run north and down and out. The bosses, kill the one that you are standing next to. Just to it fast and in cat form because he mind controls you, make sure your alts are close enough to get xp, but not close enough to draw agro if he does get a mind control off on you. Loot, and run back to the center, there is a boss here, kill them and loot, run south, another couple of dragon, kill them and loot, run into the room with the last boss, dps him down in cat form if you wish, just make sure you dont have your alts close to agro range... he stuns you and goes after the alts. Once he is dead then loot, and run north down the stairs and out. Reset and repeat. You should be getting 2 or more levels a run. Again once level 40 dont do the bottem, it will just slow you down.
K now 45-58 LBRS, this will be short and sweat. Just pull large enough pulls to make it a fast run but small enough to where you don't die. Useing the same methods as in ST... just pull, LOS, DPS, LOOT, MOVE, PARK, REPETE. Dont use the cat thing as much here... it doesnt work as well. You can use it to finish off mobs but most of the pulls, if you are pulling as many as i do, you can't kill them all before bezerker is done. It normally takes me 14 large pulls to finish this instance. Then once you hit, 58 and do the same thing in Ramps... easy pezzy... i can get 4 linked accounts to level 60 in under 24 hours. If you can do this... then i grant you the rank of Master Powerleveler. Good luck and let me know if this was help full or ask me if you need anymore help. I haven't tried with a pally, but i agree entirely with twyman, only thing i could add to his sm bit is watch out for the getting slowed, entire of sm beating down on a cat = dead cat. I usually reserve my dash for after i get slowed. I would also try a few ZF runs you can do zf in 4-5 pulls then the stair event. Being horde i do SFK, do one pull to get the door opened and then one pull to just past odo. again the cat form shines here imo due to not actually having the mobs beat down on you as you mostly outrun them. Also bear has frenzied regen for those, oh crap i overpulled moments. Enjoy your boosting, i can't stand the sight of sfk or cath anymore, between boosting my toons and helping friends alts i shudder just thinking about them.
I used a level 70 Mage to get 1-45 RAF boosting ending in ZF in 9 hours played. I'm sure it would be even better with a level 80 mage. The ports can be handy for cutting down travel time (although creative RAF summons can get around a lot of this). I tried 77 Pally boosting UD Strat, maybe it was my learning curve, but it went slower than questing 46-59.
My best time to 59 was around 17 hours on Horde side.
all you have to do when slowed is double tap your cat form. 1 click to get you out of form and out of the slow. 2nd click to put you right back into cat form.Quote:

I just did a group up with RAF.. level 80 prot pally boosting.. got everyone up to level 10 questing.. did RFC in org until 16 .. then switched to SFK.. after running SFK a few times realized that SFK would have been easier to do starting at level 10.. oh well...
did SFK to 20.. then swapped over to SM Cath.. did that until 44 or 45.. i forget which one.. but there is a HUGE drop off in xp at that point.. then switched to Strat.. until 55.. now i'm doing Ramparts and Blood Furnace.. I also have done Shattered Halls.. not really worth the Time that it takes.. for low 60 Ramparts is fastest
Instance boosting past 58 is piss slow. Quest it up, kill quests only, it is possible and its pretty quick :P
Na, ramps is pretty fast still. IMO.. you could level faster with 4 alts there then you would questing at 58. But maybe its just the tank i have.Quote:

So I want to make sure I understand this so I can make the best use of my time. I am going to Link account a and b together. I am going to use account c (which is not linked to anything) and has my 80 well geared lock on it. I am going to try these suggestions here and use the lock to boost these guys through. The way I am doing this will work right? I don’t need acct. c linked correct? The best xp comes if they are 5 levels above the alts correct?
