35-45 boosting in Sunken Temple

I haven't ever seen a video about boosting here or even a good strategy to doing it. I'm on my 5th group leveling to 60+ no and decided this is my favorite way to do 35-45. I've tried ZF and never really liked it.

So I made this short video showing one of my runs. Each run takes about 6.5 mins and gives 40%-50% of a level with RAF. I use a prot warrior with half blues, half epics. Any plate wearer can probably do this as well as feral druid. Clothies may have a hard time but I have never tried it with on. It can alway be done with 2 pulls instead of 1 if you take too much damage.

You may notice how only being 6-7 mins a run you will run into the 5 instance per hour limit. Theres extra things here you can kill if you don't want any down-time but I don't mind myself. I use deadly boss mods and put up a 1 hour timer everytime I reset so I know when I can get another clear in. Sometimes I do a run and browse some forums for 5 mins to get to the 12 min average and sometimes I do all 5 runs in 30 mins and go eat or something else for the next 30 mins. I feel some breaks keep boosting from burning you out.

This takes around 25 runs to go 35 to 45. 5 hrs with instance limits, 2.5hrs of actual play time.

Nice. Very efficient. I wonder how much easier it would be with a prot pally though.

Sorry to necro this, but WOW. This makes it look so appealing/easy to do. I won't have an 80 prot warrior to do it though, I'll be using an 80 hunter in a bit to do it, so I'll probably have to do it in 2-3 pulls of the big round room instead of one giant pull.

I just boosted my replacement toons from 35 to 45 in ST. I ran basically 4 pulls and im guessing it took about 16 runs for 10 levels? It did not take long. I went down to the right first and pulled all the slugs, snakes, and bog men. They are teathered so you will need to pop lvl1 concecration when its up to keep them from snapping back. Ret aura off too as the 9999999 slugs are non elite but pull in a large ammount of xp due to their number and you dont want to kill them on the far side of the zone and not get xp. I have to pull about half way back into the hall way to be in range for my slaves to get xp as I leave them right at the zone in and do not position them anywhere.

Second pull is the next level up. I take the second right tunnel and go down. Its the same type of mobs as the first pull so lvl1 con and no ret aura till you get them all pulled back to where you started gathering them. One big circle straif.

3rd and 4th pull is the top level with all the dragons,(left most tunnel). I would pull the left half and then the right half back to the tunnel that enters the room. You should be almost standing right above the zone in here where your alts are parked. Its easy to see if your in range as you can see them on your mini-map. Also they will pick up your paladin aura and stuff even though they are on another level.

I averaged about 14min a run here. A couple of times I ran into the 5x lockout timer, but it was odd when it happened. Slaves would all get into the zone but my booster paladin would be locked out. I just hit up Hulu at that time and watched an episode of Naruto for 20 min and everything was good to continue.

If the Trolls did not pull a ZF, that level would be awesome too. But they are tethered, and when you get them to low hp they run off and never come back and they will run and run and run and run and run. That level isnt worth doing because of this.

I've been doing ST for a while that way, but not that fast LoL.

I'm using a frost mage not that well geared and it takes me 3-4 pulls in that same area with some down time for health/mana refills.
.. I also go ahead and clear the lower portion with usually 2-3 pulls, it's quick and easy

at Lvl52, I think I need to go elsewhere for a lil faster Xp

I started also clearing the areas that starbuck mentioned after bringing a few groups through here.

For the big circle hallways all you have to do to keep them from evading back to their original position is to move slower. I alternated walking backwards and strafing. The casters always stay far back and have a long cast spell they use. By the time its done casting you are already out of range even if just walking backwards. The only annoying thing is they cast hex. The shamans are best killed first and shield reflect is nice, sorry pallies!

The other nice thing about ST boosting for my up and coming team...my accounts 1 and 2 are not RAF linked (both pre-existing accounts), just 2->3 will be linked. So in other words, I can't run out to ST on my 80 and use RAF summon to bring the first lowbie over.

I'm horde. So all I have to do is get a guildie to make me a Stonard portal and I'm practically there :)

You had a great suggestion for how my hunter could one-pull SM Cath, has been working great for me. Now my question is this: I'm planning on moving them to ST @35 (which as you can see by my sig is in one more level or 1.25 runs of Cath). Do you have any good suggestions how I could do a fast pull of that huge circular dragon room on a 80 hunter?

I was thinking of using Eyes of the Beast. I have a crab pet @L75 (only tank pet, my 80 pet is a cat). He has the AOE thunderstomp ability plus charge. I planned to use him to go around the circle and pull as much as I can either:
a) before my EotB channel wears off
b) before he dies

Either one would then aggro all those mobs onto my hunter?, who'd be waiting out of LOS behind that pillar and could volley them all down as they appear?


My only L80 pet is a cat, who also has charge, but being a cat has lower armour than a crab. Not sure about the fact that he's 5 levels higher if he'd actually have equivalent armour, but he does have more hp due to being 5 levels higher...

A dk could also be awesome for this

Just using your pet to aggro them all up will be your best bet but you will likely have to do two pulls.

One of the mobs there applies a debuff that reduces armor by 75% and it stacks. This makes armor not so important because all classes will end up with almost no armor while gathering them up. But avoidance is important. My shield broke once without me realizing and I dropped off quick.

Another idea for you is to sneak in towards the back side and use eyes of the beast to gather one half. Drop it and run around the other half gathering that side. When the other half gets to you drop a frost trap and hopefully you can get back to your parked alts without them hitting on you too much.

Ok thx. That means I will probably try with my cat pet for now (since he's 80, has higher hp and agility thus dodge). The crab pet would be better if he were 80 due to higher HP, but he's not...so cat it is.

I kinda figured I could only pull half the room before the pet got overwhelmed and then that half of the room would come running to my hunter to volley 'em down.

Being a hunter, I have mail armour so not as bad as most classes, but primarily what will help me is the fact I have 32% dodge with aspect of dragonhawk on. Plus 5% parry (base level of the stat). So net 37% avoidance.
