EQ2: Updated Wiki
I've added a lot of info to the "new" wiki (not sure when it will go live).
It can be found at: http://www.dual-boxing.com/mediawiki...p/Everquest_II
I have come to terms with the fact that I suck at editing wikis, so feel free to improve upon the layouts. :P
Also, if you see anything I missed, or that needs to be added let me know!

A sincere thankyou for all your hard work Frosty - just personally too focused on grinding out 'another set of 80s' to spend time in the wiki - or eat - sleep - scratch - communicate in any other form than grunts
-
I completely understand.
I'm only spending time on it now and then when I know I won't have enough time to play.
-
Bwah - me thinks we were both trying to update the same page at the same time ;)
Like the table btw - can't work out how to display images though
-
I wasn't able to get images to work either. I think there may be something they need to turn on for it.
-
Looks good :) It will be nice to have up to date information in there. :)
-
Thanks!
I'll be going back in and re-formatting the layout as I learn new tricks in the wiki-editing world.
We also may need to shuffle some of the information around.. but I need more coffee before I attempt anything like that.

I've got a couple of ideas that I "might" put in the wiki if you guys think it would be worth it.
Idea 1 - A section on suggestions for AA's that are helpful to multi-boxing.
this wouldn't be a full list of all the AA's just the one's that make multi-boxing life easier.
Idea 2 - slash commands and what they actually do. Again, it wouldn't be a full list, just ones that are helpful to multi-boxers.
My question is: Do you guys think there is already enough info out there, and this would just be a waste of time?
-
Hey Frosty,
Both your suggestions are pretty valid as they relate specifically to mboxers - and I know that I personally have different AA specs that those suggested on the forums for solo players
I'll start writing down a few and add them as we go
-
Awesome, thanks for the help Noxxy!

I hate when I do stupid things.... I've discovered that my Agi + Wis based Bard was going to end up being a slacker.. :pinch:
Since I need to do some research on the "right" way to spec my classes, I thought I'd add info to the wiki about it.
This brings the question, what are good sites for research? In my old EQ1 days, I used Allakhazam.com. Is this still the main go-to site for EQ2?
Or are there any others you guys could recomend? I've checked out the EQ2flames (sp?) site, but I'd hate to try to link to any information there.

Hey,
Have put together a short list of about the only useful stuff out there (with the possible exception of some guild webpages). The problem with eq2 is all the great sites were run by fans - these guys and girls 'mostly' no longer play the game and their sites have either just 'disappeared' or are chronically out of date.
- Items
- When the game was released - alakazam was a great site - unfortunately, my very hazy memory seems to recall something happening (was it gold farmers who bought it or was that ogaming? - Pretty hazy memory so could be totally wrong) - anyways - the site suffered greatly - it has recently, few years now, been 'given back' to the community - unfortunately, the site hasn't been maintained very well as can be evidenced by the same front page since 11-MAY-2007...ala used to have a great searchable dbase (like all ala relating sites to any mmpg) - and even though members still add stuff, it is missing whole chunks of items which is a shame - but still - if you need a general idea on items with certain stats, I'd go have a look at ala but don't expect much anymore
- Lootdb is good to give a general idea on what mobs drop what items - if you join you get also are given an idea of the probably of the items dropping (percentages) - not bad to have a look at every now and then - only problem is the site isn't searchable on item stats
- Blog
- One of the best blogs going is eq2 wire
- EQ2Daily - has podcasts and some good dev chats
- Forums
- Really If I had to choose a really current and active forum I'd go straight to flames - disregard the epeen stroking
- But there is the soe forum which does have some good stuff from time to time
- Raid mobs
- I would have stated straight away, without hesitation, raidwiki - unfortunately - it closed down just a little while ago - pure shame
- Probably the only one left for raids now is raidmobs but it hasn't been updated since 2007...
- Links
- EQ2links is probably about it for linkies but this site hasn't been updated for literally years - would be surprised if the links actually work tbh
- Interface
- Maps
- If you want an improved in game map then eq2map comes highly recommended - get it
- Excellent site of printable maps is gamepressure
- Addons
- Tradeskilling
- Traders Corner
- EQCraft used to be very useful when the game released - back in the bad ol' days when we used to buy WORTs by the tonne (washes, oils, resins, tempers) - not sure if the site is relevant anymore due to the massive changes in trades which now totally avoid the need to create sub-components
- Wiki
- General Info
- Cloak designer
- Heroic Oppurtunities
- Slash commands
-
Dumped all these links into the wiki to keep them safe for future ppl
-
Thanks Noxxy!
Edit - I went in and modified all the menus to be the same on all pages...on the right.
I also added a link back to the main EQ2 menu on all pages because I was going insane going all the way back to the beginning of the (non-EQ2) wiki. :P
-
Had a play with the main page last night and just put in a redirect - not really sure if I was supposed to or not but it all works still - just changed the linky on the main page
-
That was a great idea, I was wondering who did it! :P
