- Pally (30k hp unbuffed, uncrittable)
- 3x poorly geared elemental shaman
- 1x poorly geared resto shaman
I suck at coordination, looking for easy tank and spank fights.
I'm thinking UK/CoS/Gund, in that order, would be where to try my luck? Anyone agree/disagree?
I failed pretty miserably in UK, but I can farm the snake and mammoth bosses in Gundrak pretty easily. As soon as I get exalted with Argent I'll get a pretty nice ring for the shammies which is a good upgrade, maybe after that I'll go kill the collussus and last boss. In UK, each time I tried Keleseth, he aggroes before I'm really set up, so it's a losing fight to begin with.
For the snake guy in Gundrak just park your clones in the entrance hallway, pull the snake guy to the edge of the stairs and go to town. For the mammoth guy, make a macro like
/stopcasting
/cast Earth Shock
every time he starts to transform. Once I did that (didn't have /stopcasting before, so it would usually fail) he's pretty much cake.
First boss in DTK is cake for casters. Prince sucks in UK, however in UP the first boss is super easy. I just burn her down the whole time I dont even attempt to save any of my guys. I didnt even know that the second boss in UP existed (thought Skadi was the 2nd) so Im not sure how easy he is for MBing. Gundrak, Moorabi is easy.. I dont even interrupt him I just go to town and make sure to heal my tank more when he transforms. Also Eck is super easy once you understand the fight. I really like Gundrak because there isnt a whole lot of trash. I usually clear it in this order: Moorabi, Eck... then I exit and fly over to other entrance and kill Sladran and then go to 4th and then the final boss. It might be easier to clear the trolls than the snakes, but I havent tried.
edit: Oh yeah, CoS is really really easy as long as you take your time and dont freak out that you are not going to make the Infinite Corrupter. That will take some good gear and practice to make on time.

IMO Gundrak is the easiest Heroic for tank + 4 shaman. See the video I made on fighting the gundrak bosses to get ideas on where to position, what to do, etc:

The key to the second fight (elemental boss) is 4 healing stream totems and a nature resist. The rest of the bosses are quite easy, and the last boss is only tough if your tank is undergeared which yours isn't. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
Gundrak and DTK were the most forgiving for my pali 4x ele sham setup. UK is likely going to be fine with your tank geared out.
My usual circut is:
Gundrak (5), DTK (4), UK(3), then maybe UP and CoS
forgot to mention that you should be farming the titansteel necessary for each shaman to have a Titansteel Guardian. With enchants its 500 spell power, nothing to sneeze at and most likely your largest item upgrade.
Thanks guys, looks like I'll be trying Gundrak first ... just been hesitant since the first boss generally even give a regular group problems.
And yeah, I have 4x titansteel guardians ;) 2x epic LW pieces on healer and 2-3 heroic drops on 1 of the dps's.
If you do the first boss like I do in my video (posted above), he ends up as one of the easiest bosses in the instance. You won't get hit by any poison on your shaman. Just drop 4x healing stream so if the snakes get by your tank the healing stream will take care of the damage until the boss is dead.
So? Did you win?
Well Gundrak is really a Cakewalk, even if you just hit 80 and are "quest"-geared! and with 4x Titansteel Guardian you should have enough Spelldmg for it.
Snake - Chars on stairs and pull boss out of his room
Kolossus - Easy if you lay down Nature resistance Totem in Phase2 (elemental)
Mammut - just stand behind the railing and ptank the boss in front of your chars. Chainheal would bounce back if positioned correctly
Rhino - Just park your toons on one wall and burn him down
After Gundrak i would suggest Utgard Keep. First Boss is the hardest of all. This encounter gave me really pain when i just dinged but after figuring out how to burn him down its really easy. just engage the boss with all chars from the left side of the room and park all your chars in front of him. lay down your totem parc and use Magma and Healing Stream Totems. then its easy as hell =)
Second Boss in Drak'theron is hardest here but if you position your toons on one wall of the stairs you can burn those non-elite adds with magma totem. after killing those elite mobs, run down the stairs, spread your toons, set up totems, frost aura and burn him down.
I found Culling of Stratholme to be fairly easy especially if you take your time and don't try to do a 25 min run. Its mostly just tank and spanks - having an overgeared tank helps tremendously.
UK isn't too bad but honestly its the longest heroic with the least amount of badges - not worth running. You'd be better off running drak'tharon and just skipping the second boss if you have issues with him.
the helm from the first boss (Prince) in UK is worth farming up for your shams IMO unless you're going straight for the PvP helm(s).
Isn't the helm from revered argent crusade (I think) better than the one from prince?
There is a cloth reward helm that is much better as it has a ton of hit on it, think its a quest reward. That will do until you get your WG helm.
It's interesting seeing the thoughts of different teams.
I run druid tank 3xMage Priest heals.
UK is a cakewalk. I pretty much accidentally kill everything in there and flex.
Gundrak however I was terrified to go anywhere near. That snake boss, do to tank having bad AOE threat skill (front cone only) and having no cleansing / healing totem, just scared me at first til i learned the pull. The elemental boss is a PITA. The final boss has a tendency to 1 shot my 4 cloth slaves on his impales. This isn't much of an issue anymore as my DPS finally got high enough to kill him quick.
I wish I had a single ele shaman to sub for a mage just for heroism. Such an OP buff

That being said, the wintergrasp helm is quite a bit better than either the leather helm Prince drops or the mail one Elder Nadox does so I'm going directly for that one. That's assuming you have some use for the +hit rating on the Titan-Forged helm (e.g. want to raid/run VOA occasionally).
Either way, meta socket FTW over the Battle Mender's Helm.

Cleared Gundrak HC - Wasn't to hard, but the boss that turns in to a rhino almost wiped me, think I need to try and interrupt him - Also last boss was quite hard, takes me long to kill even with fire elementals and bloodlust going. It took me a while to figure out the snake boss on my warrior/3 warlocks/priest team. I can burn him down now. Tonight was the first night I've managed to kill him without losing anyone! Normally I lose my priest -- the adds swarm right past my warrior and kill him.Quote:

I'm stuck on the last boss in this instance right now. I don't have enough dps to burn him down. He can *literally* one shot anyone on my team except the tank. On my best attempt I've gotten him to 30%. Once he gets to rhino form and starts randomly charging my guys die one by one, there's just nothing I can do right now. He charges for 17-18k every time, which is exactly how much health my warlocks and priest have.
I finally beat the whole instance this weekend, thanks to Hachoo's videos. Go to the 'movies' section and watch 'em, they help out a lot with placement.Quote:

How is Azjol-Nerub on Heroic? I like this short little instance on normal but I'm thinking the 2nd boss will be a beast :/ Hardanox (sp?).
Haven't done it on heroic yet but for me, boss 1 and 2 were easy on normal, its the last boss that is a coordination nightmare, but I'm going to try it soon (and of course once I have it on farm I'll video it).
Azjol-Nerub is kind of boxing hell.
I can beat it now on a consistant basis (But I can't get the 1st boss achievement or 2nd boss achievement yet).
First guy just burn down the skirmishers first, then either the caster/warrior add, then finish the watcher. Do this three times and then tank the boss near your team depending on tank (I use DK and Pally and with both I just tank him almost inside my team.
Lust and burn, drop magma and use TS. The only real concern here is the yellow adds when they die (There is only three of them I think) but a Acid DOT on anyone around them when they die and it ticks for 500/s. Not much but they stack.
I honestly couldn't tell you if it can be cleansed cause I never have to anyways.
2nd boss is pretty easy but he bugs out alot on me still (Doesn't web the doors ever). Just kill the three groups around him, wait for him to come up and web the doors and its tank and spank. Just make sure you have someone/something that can cleanse poison ASAP on your group, and when he spams acid on the floor move out of it, easy easy.
Anub Arak is the problem in this place. I ended just spacing my guys out about 10 yards from each other right in the front and placing my healer under one of roof parts. When the boss is up he is piss easy, just watch out for his pound ability (3 second cast) just back away or run through him. Its the add phases that are damn hard. You gotta kill all the non elite adds Magma/TS all around and tank/kill the elite ones. The 1st wave is easy only 2 guardians, just burn em down fast. 2nd wave is hard as there are two guardians and then two poison spitters. Again make sure you are putting your totem farm of mana/healing down along with poison totems etc. 3rd wave is the same with some extra flying non elite adds that can hit hard. The only other thing to watch for is the boss sticking his butt through the floor and impaling your team for like 7k damage and then some fall damage. I just heal through it but if your skilled enough just move each char individually back and forth to avoid it.

Haven't tried the last guy on heroic since I am usually thinking "hey I could be clearing an entire zone in the time it's taking me to wipe on this one boss" by the time I get to him.
